Dude, this is awesome. I'm totally gonna follow you all and start on my hallway. I just got divorced and I'm a disabled war veteran and I'm alone a lot. I'm gonna start this because of how well you explained and showed how to do this. I'll email you before and after pics, buddy. Thank you.
The way you can make even something "simple" look so incredible just shows how awesome you are. I love it when the family get a chance to help you out too!
I'm 76 years old and love to decorate and remodel things. I'm going to do my enclosed porch like this after I insulate the walls. Thanks for showing me what I said could be done cheaper and look expensive.
Cracking job Tim! Looks really effective... would love to do this up my staircase on the wall side but the idea is already giving me a headache because of all the angles and the fact my staircase has two turns in haha! I may get to it one day! So busy sorting other houses rather than my own. Glad to see everyone is well and chipping in! Take care all! Marc!
Late to the party I know. This is exactly what I want to do. You've got the tools and knowledge (I'll biscuit them made me chuckle. Us normal folk can't do that). It looks amazing, but if I'm to purchase a tool...... Table saw Track saw I have neither, yet.
If you put the adhesive on as a perimeter about 3 inches in from the edge then make lines across and long ways you will make a grid that will create a suction in all of the squares that will hold the sheet on far more securely than random squiggles
Hi. I'm doing a hall with panel like yours. Can't believe how much it's going to save going DIY. Thanks for all the videos, you're a great help. Adrian
I did mine almost exactly the same except I didn't start with backing board. Once I had panel areas I found it easy to fill and sand them and line them with lining paper. Not saying it is easier but I am an amateur and it worked for me.
Nice video, wish I'd seen some of this before I panelled our bedroom... One comment/suggestion re the cutting of the strips - I just bought the MDF sheets in B&Q and had them cut it down to size in the store. The guy wasn't best pleased at having to cut multiple strips off each piece but it meant I didn't have to worry about trying to cut it myself.
Lovely job good work, ive worked on a few properties that have this panelling and have decided as you have to put it in my hallway, its a great solution to high traffic areas at dado height, we too have 2 little ones running around unfortunately ours have 4 legs and seem quite fond of clawing the walls so any sort of redecoration with any wallpaper is out of the question. Brilliant and very informative video, please keep them coming 😀👍
Great video Tim, inspiring stuff and brilliant results, I like the sound of the new spray gun but I think my wife would kill me if I bought more new tools 👍
Hi. Can you give a bit of insight into how you did the stair tread finisher. Thanks for a great video again , and the little guys really make the channel pop when they are on.
Lovely job that, Tim. First time watching your vids and doing my research as the wife has mentioned panelling for our house (1910's) 2nd fix nailers are a game changer aren't they.
If I were to take this approach, and run the mdf up to the door frames, you’ve used a total depth of 12mm, my door frames aren’t as deep as that. I could use 2 x 3mm depth mdf but probably doesn’t look as good - would you suggest replacing the door frame to accommodate?
Another great video. Your videos have helped me a lot as I have moved into my own place and carried out some projects. I don’t know what it is, but it always feels like a Sunday in your videos. I don’t know what I mean, but it does. Haha
Great work standard, further enhanced by excellent video production Tim. You must sleep well at night after your labours? All the best to you & your lovely family. 👏
Question with the 2 x 6 mm MPD boards and then your skirting , how would this meet a door architrave ? 12mm + skirting would be +/- 27mm so wouldn't it sit proud of the door architrave ? . Keep the videos coming , I watch them all
Having done both and I know carpenters who have done both, I encourage both ways of panelling both full panels and lengths of MDF straight on the wall providing you know your walls. I wouldn't preach your way is necessarily better or it is hard to achieve a good finish by doing it what I guess you would consider the cheats way of panelling, otherwise if we were all looking to do true panelling we would all be carving it out of oak like in the 15th century! Many use panelling these days floor to ceiling for a feature wall to add interest rather than to block out cold or damp so full panels are extra work and not always required if a good finish is achievable and you use the correct materials for the job.
Hi great video. I’m doing the same in my house. With regards to seams where two bits on panelling meet, do you just cake on some caulk and rub down until the seam is not seen and smooth?
After all that beautiful craftsmanship, I almost died when I saw the "Leyland" paint. This job deserved some Trade centre Dulux. Great work nonetheless 👍🏻
Great video. If you have skirtings anyway, its not easier to start with trims from the top then cut and fit same size vertical's and the last bit bottom trim + skirting. Cheers

Loving Bill Burr's new home improvement channel! Keep it up!
Love that you’re using the workshop, even though there’s no walls or roof yet
Just about the only space clear enough at the moment! 😁
Cool I always do my finish carpentry in rigger boots too lol 🔥🔫

Love the new backing music your using reminds me of woby designs
Great job on the paneling love the Chanel 🙌🏻
Well DONE OLD CHAP. A REAL TRADESMAN. 💪
love the interaction with the kids, and them helping Daddy.
For any basic woodworking a pin nailer is an amazing little tool, super useful for quickly joining things while glue dries.

Wow it’s mad how something so simple can improve a room or an area of the house. Nice work pal
The kids as always are way too cute! By the way great job Tim! I need to do this, you made it look do able! Thanks
Fantastic! I’m going to do this in our bedroom - thanks for the guidelines!

Very nice thanks. Great job and you made it easy to follow.
Using a festool track saw with an evolution track is my kind of guy 😂

James Kempster .............Sometimes they pretend their saw isnt working when you ask for jobs like that lol
That’s why I called them
Today to Let them know I’ll be in trmw 😂
Very good video, thank you for sharing!
Practical and design- able 110% 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️❤️ great team of painters too with a little fashion show to entertain as you work 🥰🙋🏻♀️🇬🇧💕jane
Have to say it was riveting Tim, a new project for me 😎
Two videos in one day. Aren’t we lucky
Great job and love to see the family getting stuck in too. Important to pass your knowledge on! 👍👍
Excellent chap 👍🏻

Awesome attention to detail. You do produce a lovely finish. It's what makes the channel a joy to watch!
I love my Ryobi tools , I have from the brushless chain saw to the sander all 18 volt
Fabulous Tim. Just about to embark on my first paneling project. Many thanks
Looks really well done 👏. Thanks for the detailed video
Looks great 👍
Great video Tim. No nonsense, straight forward. What's not to love?
Great job Tim
Good job man! I'm gonna use yr example for a project in my mother inlaws house. Thanks man
smashing job....very elegant when finished.............panelling like this also works well on a ceiling - classy :)
Great finish. I have a big job what is the make & model of the spray gun as these can be a minefield finding a good one?
Great job, I’m planning to do something similar. For the backing bard is there any reason why you couldn’t use 3mm instead of the 6mm mdf?
Good job mate 👍
Cool video - great tips I picked up !
Nice (family) work!
If you paint the panelling before it goes in it gives a perfect finish and looks like your an amazing painter
Great video Tim, inspiring stuff and brilliant results, I like the sound of the new spray gun but I think my wife would kill me if I bought more new tools 👍
Looks good mate

Smart job! Something that looks good and relatively simple to do, well I say that, but you did it 😎👍✅

Stunning finish… inspiration officially received… 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Looks fantastic.

Bravo
top work Tim

Absolutely superb job. Looks fantastic..
Looks brilliant. Any ideas for the gap/joint filling.that won't crack
Good job
Thanks
Cracking job, earned a sub!
Thanks for the vid, wish you had of talked through the sanding and MDF seal part
Just the show and tell I was looking for. Great idea. Time to get my toolsout
NICE JOB ... !!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Shit hot FairPlay. Real pioneer showing off your skills here, can’t wait to give this a go
Panelling looks great
What size nails did you use in the nail gun please
Looks brilliant Tim. Might have a go at this myself.
Hi Tim, the paneling looks great. Can I ask what product you used prior to painting? 23:08. Was it some sort of sealant? Thanks. Henry
MDF sealer. Just helps the fuzzy edges stay smooth. You can manage without but had some on the shelf.
Excellent tutorial !!!! You made it look very easy love panelling !!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Just about to do this in my pub shed, with the amount of views it looks like I'm not the only one 🙂
Very neat 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Really helpful 👍thank you
What size trim did you put on top please ? I know you had 12mm in total with your panels
Very nice work!
Stunning
Looks quite attractive. Guess its best to look at this as a permanent fixture since removing it would require new plasterboard.
Nice work 👍
I done this but used the electric sNder too much and have patchy paint work anything you could suggest as I have gone down to far into mdf. Thanks
what sort of roller are you using?
Paneling looks great.
Spray finish will always look better, when done right ;)
Great job, on both the hallway and the video.
Can you put mdf panels on battens? I would like to put some sound insulation behind the MDF boards.
Would it be robust enough to hang on battens?.
Yes we did that on a wall we wanted to keep breathable. It’s an older video on the channel. We used 12mm MR MDF
@@TheRestorationCouple great thanks for sending me a message. I will take a look.
Nicely done!
Another great vid
I'm looking at getting a brad nailer, I think you use a ryobi .
What model do you use ?
Has it lasted ?
Thanks in advance
Graeme
Great work and really inspiring. I also love the color you used for the panels, is that color Swiss coffee?
Thanks Tim
Nice job.

The work is masterful and elegant!!!
Maybe to diyers
Looking at adding to my Ryobi collection. Is that the 18g or 16g model mate?? I’ve got skirting boards to fix and some panelling to fix too.
18g, 16G has been useful for other stuff but 18 usually fine for this type of work.
Fine work!👌🏿
If it looks good, it IS good. This looks good. Nice job with the returns(base and cap rail) that you showed but didn't really mention.
What is that gun called that you was using 2:38
Hi great video. I’m doing the same in my house. With regards to seams where two bits on panelling meet, do you just cake on some caulk and rub down until the seam is not seen and smooth?
It’s usually pretty tight but I undercoat first to see what it’s like and then a little skim of filler if needed.
Cheers
Not easier just different.
Do you have to use a moisture resistant mdf against the wall?
