I really enjoyed Asha. What I loved most about her were her selfless qualities. I like the idea that she becomes a fairy godmother in training in the end. But I have a feeling that in the future, Queen Amaya could also make Asha a future Queen Consort of Rosas after her passing. Since Magnifico and Amaya don't appear to have children in the film, maybe Asha could become Queen Consort of Rosas in the future. Either way, both lend themselves well for a series or movie sequel in my opinion.

I agree. I also enjoyed Asha in the movie Wish. I loved it.❤🌟🌠🪄 I don't care what the critics say. They're just lean and mean

While I really do like Asha, there is one problem: she doesn't have any character growth. She starts as kindhearted person who wants the best for her people and ends the same way. The best one could say is she learns to stand up for herself, but she already was doing that by challenging Magnifico.
Aside from that, still like her.

Your channel is underrated! Your opinion of children challenging authority is so spot on with how I feel about Turning Red. Mei Mei literally biting her mother and having regular aggressive outburts..! An asian household would *never*. Those conversations get resolved differently & at different age groups.
These themes are entertaining as a plot, but it feels too heavy for children and if used, they ought to be use very delicately.

Exactly, and that's why I used Encanto as a reference caz even though things got heated between Mirabel And Abuela I feel like it was properly handled to show that Mirabel was coming from a place of hurt and not from a rebellious or aggressive standpoint.

I ended up liking Asha’s character more than I ever thought I would. She’s selfless, sharp witted, optimistic, sort of idealistic and cares a lot.
I really enjoyed the journey she went through in the movie. To show people they all deserve a chance to make their greatest dream come true. Something they needed to hear long ago.
Although she may be seen as somewhat bland? Because she doesn’t actually grow as a character. Kind of like really classic Disney heroines like Snow White, Cinderella and Aurora.
Of course, not every protagonist needs to grow as character. But it does make them more interesting. But she is at least not a Mary Sue, because she is not overpowered (has to work for her goals) and has one weakness.
Caring to much. She can care so much, she’s willing to put herself at any risk. That trait nearly lead to her potential downfall at the end of the film. She was lucky she was able to convince everyone else to help. Who knows what could have happened to her, had she not been so lucky.
Reminds me of Snow White’s kindness. It’s great for making friends. But terrible when you’re dealing with people who don’t deserve it. Kind of like your greatest strength, also being your greatest weakness. I find that part of Asha really interesting.

Great analysis, agreed! I'd also argue that Asha diddn't neccessarily need character growth because other characters got it instead. People of Rosas who learned to try to make their own dreams come true and work together. King Magnifico who eventually became a full blown villain. Queen Amaya who understood that her husband changed for the worse and stepped up as the kingdom's ruler at the end. Maybe it was enough?
