    Clear and concise. This is the best explanation of engineering notation on TH-cam hands down.

    Thank you for your explanation. I’ve been studying scientific notation for a few days and you just made this topic make perfect sense without even getting deep into it.

    Great video! I'm going into my third year of electrical engineering. I always felt lost on engineering notation because I never learned it well the first time. I mean for the most part I understood why people simplified things. It's crazy that I didn't understand such an easy concepts, especially after taking all of the high level mathematics I've done. Very clear concise video. Worked great for brushing up on these concepts.

    Terry I’ve started watching your scientific and engineering notation videos. What a great refresher series. It’s amazing how everything you once knew was put on the back burner in my brain. Even though I once knew a lot of what you are explaining I still find it very interesting. For all my years as an aircraft mechanic it’s now time to learn the other half electronics. Thank again for sharing Artie 👍

    • @stuzman52
      @stuzman52  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Artie and glad that you liked the video series. Yes, we all learn this stuff, but unless we use it, it's pushed way back into the brain. Hopefully, the videos brought everything back 😊 Since you were an aircraft mechanic, I'm sure that you had to deal with the electronics on the aircraft. You should post some videos and I'm sure that you'll get quite a few followers. 👍

    Good stuff Terry . I'm sure its a learning curve in real applications . Is this a universal standard or do other countries vary because of different measuring as in metric vs imperial.

    • @stuzman52
      @stuzman52  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In all the fields of science and engineering, engineering notation is the standard since it is based on the metric system and is used worldwide, even in the United States. In fact, all of the units used in science are based on the SI (systeme internationale), 'international standard' for folks who speak English. The standard was established in 1960 in France. So, all countries use it. I'll be covering the standard a little more when I get into the topic of electronics.

    Great video, great explanation. I'm a 'late in life' math learner so this is much appreciated. I do have one confusion. I understand that 10 to the power of zero would technically be 1 and it really wouldn't be used anyway. I'm missing the logic behind it i think. Why is 5 to the power of 0 also 1? Its not really germaine to the point I know, I'm just curious. What I dont want to be, is a pain in the ass.

    • @stuzman52
      @stuzman52  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you very much Mark! A number to the 0 power is basically saying that it's the product of no numbers at all. Here is a link to a video which should help you understand it better. medium.com/i-math/the-zero-power-rule-explained-449b4bd6934d
