    Stuzman is my favorite TH-cam channel. You are the real deal. A mechanics mechanic.

    The 4.6L 2 valve is a great engine when maintained. Nice to see you bring back that old beast to life. Great diagnosis! Good to see you post Terry, hope all is well and we should catch up sometime soon.

      Hi Glen and hope you and the family are doing well! There was a lot of stuff we left out in filming as I was getting tired and brain dead in getting this car fixed as you could tell at the end of the video 😊. I have to admit for a car that was sitting for 10 years, the engine sounded great, transmission was able to move the car around and even the AC system was still working. There is still a fair amount of stuff to do and my brother has agreed that he wants to get it back to its glory days. The air suspension system will be the next video of how to troubleshoot it, (going to be detailed of anything on TH-cam) and the repair procedures. It's a 2-1/2 hour drive for me and I'll go back down in about a week or so. Yes, we need to catch up as its been quite awhile since we chatted. Have a super great day!

    Nice to see you making videos again. Do make one on the air suspension.

      Thank you for watching the video and leaving a comment Bernard! I spoke with my brother this morning and he wants everything working. The air suspension is the next system we're going to tackle and I plan to make a detailed video of how to troubleshoot this system along with whatever repairs are needed. Have a super great day!

    Awesome video. Awesome car. Can you make videos if further repairs and diagnostics on this car? Procedure of changing the air spring would be cool video. Ford from this era are great vehicles.

      Sure thing Petar! I got back home yesterday which is 2-1/2 hours away from the vehicle. I spoke with my brother about the air suspension and we're going to tackle it in about a week or so. I'll make a detailed video of how to troubleshoot this system. And we'll show the procedure of whatever needs replacing. Have a great day!

    The belt noise problem would be cool see a video about diagnosing and replacement. It's sounds like it's a chirping noise, which is hard to diagnose properly in order to change only the needed parts and not every single pulley , tensioner, crank pulley and belts.

    • @stuzman52
      @stuzman52  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, Petar you are correct that it is a chirping noise and only happens at startup. We only hear it one time when starting. I put a caption in the video about pulleys, but after some thinking, I believe the bearings in the pulleys are good. I noticed that the belt tensioner does quite a bit of movement during starting. So my guess is that the tensioner is weak which allows the belt to slip for a moment when starting. If it turns out to be this, we'll be replacing the tensioner and the the belt. We'll try to do a video on that procedure. Have a super great day!

    welcome back Terry! interesting diag as always! So the mud/dirt dauber nests...it must have been parked with open hoses/ air box to allow them in?

    • @stuzman52
      @stuzman52  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Neil and hope you are doing well! I should have explained a little better about how the dirt daubers got in there, but as you saw in the last part of the video, I was dead tired as well as being brain dead. I asked my brother early on about checking the air filter and air intake tube while I was checking other things like oil and coolant levels, etc. He said everything looked good. He knows about some things on cars like brakes, changing spark plugs, but that's about it. I didn't do a follow-up since he said all was good. Later, when I looked at the air filter and said it was good in the video, this was true. But what I forgot to mention was that on one side of the air filter, the gasket was totally split right down the middle where the filter couldn't seat on top of the air box. This left a 1/4" gap between the air filter and the air box where the gasket sits. This gap is how the wasps entered past the air filter. Anyway, sorry I wasn't clear of how the wasps got past the air filter in the video. Have a super great day!

    Thanks for your knowledge,found the video very educational,great presentation CHEERS Would like to know if you viewed the MAF in scan data before cleaning wondering if the value was a substitute value by the PCM? Thanks Terry no dtc what about voltage to MAF THANKYOU

    • @stuzman52
      @stuzman52  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Anthony! Sorry, I didn't see what the scan data said before cleaning the sensor. But I believe we can do a little thinking and know what it would have been. The PCM would have substituted a value if it saw an electrical circuit fault with the MAF. Some examples would be if there was no voltage to it, open wire, etc. In this case, it would have substituted a value. But in this case, there wasn't an electrical issue, so no value was substituted. And with the MAF sensor totally enclosed with a dirt dauber nest, the PCM would have measured a value of 0 g/s. And with that low of an air flow, the PCM would have calculated no fuel to be delivered. With the MAF sensor disconnected, there is an electrical circuit fault, and the PCM would have substituted a value where the PCM would have calculated a certain amount of fuel. Have a great day!

    Sir how did you get old bad gas out of the tank i have a 1997 been sitting 10 years been working on it i need the gas out sir i don't know how to get it out i don't have a good battery for anything right now

    I don't hear the pump coming on when I have battery charger on it

    • @stuzman52
      @stuzman52  หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you don't hear the pump run for a couple of seconds when you turn the ignition switch to on, then you have a fuel pump circuit issue.

      @@davidholmes7215 I assume that you mean that you jumped out the contact for the fuel pump relay. You've got some more troubleshooting to do. Does it have power going to the contact? Does the relay close? What about the fuel pump driver module? Is it receiving power and ground? Is the PCM providing pulses to this module to tell the fuel pump what speed to run?

    • @stuzman52
      @stuzman52  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@davidholmes7215 I would make sure the fuel pump is actually bad before you start dropping the fuel tank. And on this car, you shouldn't have to drop the tank. The fuel pump is located on a panel on the front side of the tank.
