Fasting is basically denying yourself of something that you physically crave in order to strengthen yourself spiritually. I typically do what is called total fast, meaning nothing to drink or eat. I will do it for up to three days. Some cannot do that due to medical reasons (like diabetes). They may choose to not drink anything sweet for a period for example. Married couples may choose to abstain from physical intimacy for a time. However you choose to fast, always combine it with prayer with the focus on bringing the flesh into submission. That causes strongholds to be broken.
