The spirit of Pride is very prevalent in the Greek community! I wanted to be an AKA because I wanted others to praise me, to like me and to want to be like me just like I wanted to be like the AKA’s on my campus. I wanted everyone to think I was a pretty girl with my twenty pearls! It was such a sinful desire but I justified it because my flesh wanted it! So thankful I never was able to pursue it because there’s a chance I would have died in it. I could have had that “I bleed pink and green” mentality til the day I died. I’m so thankful God granted me repentance and I’m thankful he sent me down a completely different road and I’m thankful for his spirit because with out it there’s no hope.
I love the fact that she shared that her experience in the org was positive. So, no one can accuse her of using a negative experience as an excuse. It goes to show that just because something seems good to man, it does not mean it is in right standing with God. Also, I think that one of the strongest indicators that a stronghold exists in members of D9 is that any time they say God told them to denounce and renounce it is always a struggle to do so. Even when denouncement videos provide reason after reason that the practices, origin, culture does not align with the Word, they resist. Whew. Imagine, Jesus coming to you saying, "Hey, this is not of me," and you stand there and argue him up and down about how good it is, and how the founders did not mean any harm, and how you don't worship the Greek god or the organization. Chilllleeee....it's mindboggling to me...I am still praying for my friends and relatives. I have planted the seed and I know God will water it, fertilize it, and give it Sonshine.
Yep! They ignored that still, small voice that told them don't do it, and they did it anyway. Now they're for with regret and shame. BUT.... THANK GOD FOR JESUS! ❤❤❤

Denounced AKA in 2019. My story was similar to hers. The experience wasn't as "bad" but it was when you get into it you notice things that aren't right. I compromised also living a double life with God and Greek life. I wasn't active after college and I was glad because the new Grad Advisor was talking crazy and wasn't welcoming at all. We always had to have come to Jesus meetings as a chapter, and barely got along and they called it a "sisterhood" 😒. Even during process, I felt it was off but just went along with it. People always said "do your research" so I did and also thought I prayed about it before but I hadn't fasted. That was a difference. Funny story was my mom was never for it. My grandad I guess was a mason. Now I see why my mom was against it. When I moved to Georgia, I had considered rejoining after going to a Greek event (before denouncing) but it was the next day a video from a young lady who denounced DST came up, that I decided not to. That same year, a few months later God told me to denounce. I still have to go to storage to throw away/burn everything but I am so glad God is revealing these things. When I told a lady at church about it who was a Delta, she was SO offended. That's when the Lord told me this is what it does to people. 😢❤
What spoke to me most was from the beginning when there were different “road blocks” so to speak that kept popping up when Akira wanted to pledge…I believe that was the spirit blocking the way for her not do it…these instances have happened throughout my life where certain things just won’t work out no matter what I do! I’ve learned that for me, it’s God’s way of making me stop and pay attention…but a lot of times God will get out of your path, if you insist…and let you have what you want…and it’s in the throws of what is now a problem…that you gain clarity…
Thank you for speaking Truth to Power. The Greeks are very influential in our community and very admired. It takes a lot of courage to denounce that and put God first. I’m glad you guys are putting God first and setting an example of faith over fear.

My older cousin's birthday was earlier this week. My mom and I called him to say happy birthday and he happened to be it with his new lady friend. After he spoke to us for a while he gave the phone to his lady friend so we could introduce ourselves and speak. The first thing the woman asks me is if I'm a Delta. I said no. She then asked if I was Greek at all and I said no again. She then asked, "Well if you had been Greek you would have been a Delta right?" I told her that Greek life has never interested me. she just said "oh" and didn't engage with me further. I've dealt with zealous Greeks before but it's been a while since I've had an experience like that. I just shook my head because I'm sitting here like, of all the things to ask someone your first time speaking with them, that's what you start with? No how are you or I'm happy to be talking with you since your cousin talks about you all the time? (I'm the baby of my family so he tells everyone I'm like another daughter to him) just straight to Greek life. It really put me off to her, but I prayed for her that night and will continue to. And also pray that the spiritual covenant she has made doesn't impact my cousin
@@LaLaJenkins I know. I honestly didn't know how to approach it without sounding disrespectful to her since she is an elder. I just ask God for strength and to help me be ready whenever I'm put in a position to help someone with this in the future.

Hi, Lala Jenkins, years back I made the Dean's List and one of the girls in college asked me to join the Sorority I said I'll think about it, then she asked a 2nd, and 3rd time I kept saying no. My reason I was raised up around people under that same umbrella, and was told it was of evil and secrets, when they dead lady's removed books even at a young age said, I couldn't read them because I was not a member. Therefore there is more to the story but that's what helped me to not join but I'm older and feel I should have because you can gain so much by being in the group. But for me and the other part of my upbringing God is way more important to my life to gain things because God helps you get what you want as well but salvation is the most important in life them material things, so I like that the people you've had on your channel expressing their experiences with Sororities. It’s interesting that she kept saying “the devil is a liar” when it was actually the Holy Spirit speaking to her. Making a covenant with false gods, in this instance AKA, essentially makes you an enemy with the true and living God. Thus, calling God a liar by saying He is not telling you to do something when He is actually calling you out to stop worshipping false gods. Classic example of flipping good for evil and evil for good.
I’m loving the consistent back to back denouncing content. It’s so imperative right now, God is truly seeking after His children to bring them back. If at all possible, I’ve been in this ongoing process to redeem my paperwork from the organization (AKA) I’ve renounced from. Hey Sis. Have you sent your renouncing letter to them? I will say that I sent my letter to Delta in 2021 and I didn’t hear back until 2023. 🥴 They were extremely slow with processing my letter.. that could be the case with AKA as well.

I just sent in two denouncing letters to nationals this week. I am a multicultural sorority and I'm also in a service fraternity. Service frat for 20 years and almost 17 years in the sorority. This is painful but it needs to be done.

Why do some denounce but not take themselves off the registry? Wouldn’t they still be considered a greek? Also, doesn’t this still allow them to wear the paraphernalia, have access to meetings, and throw up the hand gestures of the org at liberty?
