Flux is amazing. Have only ever done some light electronics repair, but I used to do band instrument repair which required some soldering at times. We used flux for that too, it really helps the solder flow to where it needs to be. Not sure what that flux stuff is, but there must be some witchcraft in it.

Unfortunately, this GPU is stolen and replaced in any country. It is more profitable to get money for diagnostics of the card and steal the chip than to repair it and get little money. Unfortunately. 😥😥🥶🥶

Nice fix, good to see a screw up I might have wouldn’t be a nightmare to fix. I killed a GTX 280 years ago when my cooling loop sprung a leak. XFX, back when they made Nvidia cards, replaced it under warranty.
I love watching these- cant wait to see him restoring robots with identity memory that is partially damaged and only partially recoverable- would be pretty sci fi
This is not rust nor copper acetate but using water cooler nonsense in a computer instead of buying a beautiful high quality ultrasilent air cooler. I know that because till 2009 I build water cooled computers too, and this is exactly how a graphics card looks like after the CPU cooler leaked. After having lost a PC with the most expensive parts available build in 2008 I never again touched any of this sh.. watercoolers! ;) And wow you are an absolute professional being able to repair graphics cards and having such electronics skills to know every part and line and connection on a GPU, probably only a handful of people can do that.
Hey Tony, quick question, do you have a preferred brand of thermal pads especially for 40 series GPU's? Personally I prefer putty usually but sometimes pads are just easier or necessary.
@@northwestrepair which flux for reballing? I know one of the ur videos you talked about and i cant find it. It was like in syringe ( and thanks for the tip about using lead based solder wire )
I've seen this before. Looks like an AIO mounted in the top of the case sprung a leak and fluid ran down hitting the graphics card mounted across the PCIe slot. This is why for a gamming rig I'd always recommend just air cooling. You can beat on an air cooled PC and it will never let you down.
Tony, this may be a dumb question but idk this stuff. Why if the card works when you take stuff off do they put it on to begin with? It doesnt make sense to me.
Hello, i have a question i kinda want to try reballing liquid metal damaged core myself 😅 for my 3080, i found really cheap ga104 core and it seems like 3060-3080 cards all use this one. Assuming my bold move wont go wrong and i somehow sucessfully rebal the core, is pefrormance gonna be at normal 3080 level even if the core is probably from 3060?
Do you know what causes motherboard audio detecting a device, even there is no mic or headphones plugged, my suspect is audio ic broke because before this problem, my audio doesn't work, and if it's working it just a loud static noise, how abput your thought's?

Thanks, will do!

Maybe.
It's been a while.
Apparently people put expensive chemical garbage into their custom loops. All it needs is distilled water and a bit of glycol.

Pretty easy by your standards this one. Good work.
It's a beautiful metaphor that the GPU die is manufactured with what's basically rust (or oxidation) and is later consumed by it
Silicon oxide is basically sand, not rust. That's iron oxide.
Love the new opening
Hello Tony. Its me. the internets. Rust never sleeps.

Nonchalantly powering board with two driver mosfets missing 😅
Why not. Sometimes it works if board has small controllers

I use WC since 2014 no issues, 0 leaks, you have to know how to properly assemble them, that is the biggest issue i see most of the times.

I use Laird Tputty 607 mostly but Upsiren UTP-8 from Alix is great as well, avoid the csgr stuff.
No..I use cheap Chinese junk I was recommended while back.
Works so good I put it on my own gpu

Where do you buy microcomponents of the board like the Mosfets?
I think the component bag showed Mouser @ 3:58 Digikey is also a source I use for genuine pars. Aliexpress for some parts.
@@theoldbigmoose TY for the info. One more question: The component must be the same, or in this case, any driver mosfet would work?
@henriquepittelkow2137 mosfet always has to be the same if there is more than one.

Most cases have venting on top, if a stray drink falls on the PC which may be below the desk it is also a common mode of liquid introduction.
From obvious land fill to a mint 4090 anyone would pay top-dollar for, amazing.

Its working i cant believe we have picture.😂😂😂😂😂
1:32 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Well you never know, right, rightttt
You make it look easy….
Just a reminder Rust is IRON oxidation - and iron only! But you will never fail if you just say corrosion which fits in almost all cases. :)
So. Why did the card work at all with 2 missing mosfets?
smart controller on board. its programmed to compensate if needed.
Most 4090s dont have that. Only Asus, Founder Edition and MSI
1:20 many potential babies lost during this 4090 repair
New fear unlocked 😳
just use a air cooler for your cpu
No onlyfans no problem. xD
What power supply you using while testing the voltage rails?
It still blows me away you can just run cards with components missing like that
Sure it's probably unstable, but it still works
Why do you use 2 hot air stations to remove mosfets? Is it for quicker removal or is there some secret here?
Looks like he playing Rust. 😂
Hey what thermal camera do you use?🤔

Custom made. Or heavily modified.

Very common.

😎👍
you make it look so simple, but it's not at all
so fare my 4070ti has held up thank God waiting for the 5070 or something like that I hope there made right
looks like AIO leacked poor guy ! lucky its in hand of gpu repair god
this is why i dont use watercoolers
How can you know the boards component layout? A guy who fixes modern graphic cards is Godlike.
It is called oxidation, only steel is rusting.
The fact that the affected area was in the back does scream water cooling mishaps with a CPU block with a custom loop....or cheap AIO failing hard.
