This video was the one that convinced me to send my $1100 paperweight (PowerColor Red Devil RX 6900 XT Ultimate) in so that the OP could attempt to repair it. I'm going to share my experience here because I'm not gonna let something like this happen to me without telling people about it... so they can be informed about what they might be getting involved with. It went like this: I shipped the card, then the heatsink. Paid the extra to get expedited repair. This guy sent me a message in a day or two stating that he had it repaired, and as soon as I sent the payment on paypal it was shipped back to me, same day. Received the card today. Would try to post results of some benchmarks, but then I realized that would just be bragging. Bottom line: my 1100 dollar paperweight was a really good paperweight for the last 2 years, but now it is kicking ass once again. In other words- Well played, sir. And thank you

I got the liquid cooled model of the sapphire toxic 6900xt I was thinking I was gunna need to send you but flashed the bios and I got lucky af. Sapphire makes such nice looking cards
i bought the r9 280x in 2014 and it was marvelous until i decided to sell it in 2022. sapphire makes the best amd cards. (other brands had really problematic 280x’s such as asus)
@@alancarr195 I fell in love with the Toxic line but the one I could afford was the XFX R9 270X for my first build, so when I saw them back in 6000 series I had to have the 6900XT Toxic Extreme no matter what, such a great card!
@10GreenDragon10 I got crazy lucky or no way I could've afford to buy this toxic 6900xt with 360mm aio cooler, one my very good friends had it and some how bricked the bios on it and went out and got one the black Friday sales last year to get 7900xtx and 5900x for like under 1200$(think 5900x was still like 400$ish? Cant remember now, ik was good deal he paid like 700$ for 7900xtx with bundle) so he told me if I got this 6900xt working to give him 200$ for it. So like I said I got insanely lucky to get this card for what I did.
Sapphire has often been the best brand if you wanted a basic model card. However, they seem to be doing well and have expanded their product lineup to have a wider range of AMD cards. They had an exclusive contract to be the sole brand/ manufacturer of the reference model RX 7000 series cards, and there is a much bigger difference between their Pulse and Nitro+ branded card models for the 7000 series generation as well. I think they were the first brand to include a bios switch on their cards, and probably also the first to put a bios switch on a lot of their more basic models of cards. One thing I really DON'T like though, is that a lot of their cards now only have a two year warranty >:(
Now that i finish watching the video, i remenber when you did that same process on the pads to restore it as a "little accident" to show how it works, good seeing it again
That motherboard would be a perfect upgrade test bench PC in my opinion. I currently use a EVGA Z390 FTW motherboard in my test bench PC and personally I love it, although EVGA boards have odd behavior sometimes such as making way more beep sounds during boot ups as well as turning on and off 3, 4, sometimes 5 or 6+ times during boot up especially if hardware components have changed (such as a change in cpu or ram for example). It can be a little obnoxious and sometimes hilarious to experience for the first time.

it's more expensive than using a single cooler and you eliminate the factor of pads being too thick or stiff affecting gpu temps. it's a reeeeallyy good feature

When you mentioned the memory cooling. That acts as a subframe to prevent damage from GPU sag. It’s not just a heatsink it’s intentional design.
Separating the cooling fins stops heat spreading from core to the other components and vice versa. Maybe not necessary, but a nice design feature IMO.
