Great review Destiny, I had the exact same issues. I am a disabled Veteran, my disability is Herniated Disc’s in my back. It took me a few weeks and my back felt so much better. I too did not like the pillows at first, now I love them and the support they provide. The biggest difference after two months I switched from the Nectar base to the Nectar Resident Adjustable frame. OMG that has reduced my pain to nothing! It was a definite cost to absorb but so much worth it! Hi Destany! Thank you for your honest review. The information was quite informative and useful, as I recently purchased the Nectar mattress. I too, suffer from chronic back pain and I hope to experience relief during my nightly sleep on my newly purchased Nectar mattress. So far, I’ve only slept one night on my new mattress. I agree that Nectar offers great comport, along with the form fitting pillows. The only issue I’m currently having with the Nectar mattress is the smell, especially from the pillows. I’m highly sensitive to the off gas smells emitted from plastics and foam. The smell from the mattress is less intrusive; however, the smell from the pillows is more bothersome. On the other hand, I love the comfort the pillows offer. Presently, I’m allowing the pillows to air out in the sun, in hopes to reduce and/or eliminate the chemical smell. Question: Have you, or anyone else have had issues with the off gas smells of Nectar products? If so, I welcome your insight and feedback. -Tonya🙏🏽🌷
Glad you pointed out that your pre-existing condition with your back has nothing to do with the quality of a memory foam mattress. I bought the mattress and love it. Glad your back is better. Great review. Thanks for sharing.

To those suffering back pain/issues.. the best #1 thing you can do thats makes a WORLD of DIFFERENCE is streching out PROPERLY at least 2 times a day. 1st once yr awake in the morning befor yr shower, for at least 15 mns. Then at night 1 hr befor bed. Dont over do your streching. There are great videos on here with good advice on streching to relieving back pain. Ya, its a pain in the ass to do but once you start n if you stick with it for 1 week youll really feel the difference not 8n just your pain but in the quality of your sleep.. which helps you mentally throughout your day in which will effect most aspects of your over all well being mentally and physically. It truly makes a world of DIFFERENCE if your streching is done properly. Remember, strech to where is a good kinda hurt... not a painful hurt! 👍

OK here's my 2 cents worth. We had an old innerspring mattress that HAD to be replaced. Nectar offers a 10 year guarantee. Nectar is less expensive than most competitors. Nectar does not smell bad when you open it. Nectar sets up quickly and is ready to go in under 2 hours from front door to with sheets and blankets. I have been sleeping on it now for about 6 months and I am completely satisfied. It is comfortable, supportive, and warm in the winter. On warmer nights (South Carolina) it is not too warm, and a sheet over you is sufficient. There has been a slight settling of the foam where I sleep, but if you rotate the mattress when you change the sheets its only a slight amount and hardly noticeable. Overall I feel that the Nectar is a great value, is very comfortable, and will help you enjoy a very good nights sleep.

If the mattress is getting misshapen that is part of the warranty. Mine is nearly a year old and we have had no issues..
Nectar has a forever warranty not a 10 year warranty.
I just got a Tuft & Needle and its too soft for me lol. That's because I've been sleeping on Thai mattress that's on a hard flat surface for about 3 years so it's really hard to get used to a spongy mattress. I only switched over because my gf prefers softer sleeping surfaces than me.

Hi destany...i just ordered a queen and a frame walking with sheets and mattress protector..I'm excited..i just got back surgery and i pray this bed allows less pain more support and lots of rest..lol..i hope my expectations aren't too high.lol...thank you for the review...smile
So I don't know I'd lay down on one at the mattress store for like 30 minutes maybe less and my back was aching so I am going to try the ghost bed both have really good backing to them. It does feel like it can be really comfortable but right now it feels like it was letting back hips sink too much as a stomach sleeper

I’m still in my first few days of sleeping on my new nectar. I still haven’t adjusted yet because even though the mattress is soft, but when I sleep on it it feels hard (firm) in comparison to my old spring mattress which was super soft. I’m hoping I end up loving it in due time as I’d hate to do the whole return process.

@@johnlangston3663 kept it! We love it. We actually just spent 2 nights in a very nice hotel. The beds were pretty comfortable for spring mattresses. We both came home and the next morning realized how well we slept. I was kinda at the point i was taking it for granted. I totally have a new appreciation for the bed. It is totally worth every penny!

Good info. Something that helped me move less in my sleep was to have a ton of junk on half of my bed that I couldn't move off while in my sheets/blankets. it forced me to stay on a smaller portion of the bed. Now if I move (not often) it will just be rolling from one side to the other once or twice. Might be worth a try for a few weeks.

How long did it take to pop up after opening it? Mine just arrived last night and is still sitting here in the box because the new frame didn’t get here yet and I have to remove the old bed to have room.
Well it looked fully popped up like minutes after I opened it but I let it sit for several hours afterward to make sure it was fully up. (I did jump on it minute after i opened it though and it did seem pretty firm haha)

Thanks for the review, Destany! I am wondering will it allow my hips to sink in? I am trying to return back to my side sleeping position and let my face clear up from the bruises from sleeping on my stomach. I don't think I can afford the price up front.

Uhhhh thats a hard question to answer.. The best way I can explain it is that is conforming haha. I would say it in the middle of soft and firm

Right now I am actually out of town so I haven't slept on the mattress consistently for about 2 months. But I went home to visit and I slept on it for a couple nights and it was great! I slept like a baby!
What a great review. Very honest. I've been looking at one of these for our guest bedroom. I bought the Casper Wave for our mattress, and it's great for me. I'm 280 and have 5 herniated discs. I sleep fantastic now right from day 1. But the Wave is expensive so I'm looking for something quality but a little more affordable. So we are considering the Nectar. Do you think it would be a good occasional use mattress for guests?

I ordered a Queen, and I set it up 2 nights ago and it’s still only at 10 inches. Did yours ever get to a full 11 inches?
I personally just gave it time to expand then didnt do much else. So I havent measured it so im not sure
Has anyone experienced itching from the perimeter of this matress? No, theres no bugs, lol. I have to put 6 layers of sheets plus a matress cover to stop it. After a week, its like whatever is making me itch comes through the sheets from the matress . I'm guessing its the flame retardant possibly since there is no regulations of using those chemicals. Company does not even have to list it on materials used to make matress.

I just purchased a queen size and it has been about a month. The four corners are still flat and not fully expanded. Do you or anybody has any similar issues? Three out of four corners are sink so low. So frustrated....
No all my corners are good on my bed. Maybe you should give nectar a call and explain what is going on

I hear memory foam is not great for back support...generally a firmer mattress is recommended for back problems. I've been having lower back pain with hybrid and memory foam. Not sure if a firmer inner spring is the best option here but still searching.

This bed is firm and suprisingly supportive for an all foam bed. I find it more supportive than my old spring bed was.

If your body is fatigue tired because lack of sleep rest your body especially back will be hurting. Get a good sleep rest and you'll enjoy anything.

It has been good! I actually just recently moved to California but before I got here I was still sleeping on it. TBH my back has been a little uncomfortable when I wake up in the morning. BUT i think im the reason for that because I sleep REALLY crazy at night. I do like it though and I like the pillows too! Also, you will have a 1 year sleep trial if you get it. So if you end up not liking it you can return it! Hope this all helps
Chase A Hi! I'm trolling all these mattress reviews for my daughter who has a very limited price range. I have to recommend my Tempurpedic mattress I got 16 years ago. (can't believe it's been that long!) a lot of people complain about the heat with these mattresses, but it never bothered me. I use a flat wood platform bed as the only base, no need for box springs. When sleeping on my side, I agree with a comment below that you should use a pillow between your knees. They make small specially shaped ones you can buy anywhere. Hope you have found your dream bed. It makes all the difference in the world.

I do think that it is hard soft. I never noticed until someone came and slept in my bed and said it was kind of hard. I enjoy it though. It like the perfect balance.

My third day with the Nectar mattress Way too firm I’m a back sleeper makes my lower back tight when I wake up. and I hate it. my wife loves it though. given it a little more time but it looks like it might be going back though.

What position do you normally sleep in? I know you said you move around a lot but is there one you are predominately? I’m a stomach sleeper so I know I need a firm bed I’m just hoping nectar would be firm enough for me... I also HATE memory foam so I’m scared of that too but I know people have been saying it’s a “different” kind of memory foam and doesn’t sink in like traditional memory foam... idk I just like a flat surface that’s a little comfy to sleep on
I feel like most of times I wake up on my side. But sometimes I wake up on my stomach. And I think it is the perfect amount of firm while also still being comfortable. Im pretty sure there are many different layers to the bed so it isn't just straight memory foam. But you can always try it out! and if you don't like it you can return it! you have a year! I’m waiting for my Nectar mattress the shipping takes forever, I hope I have the same results as you. I went with the whole kit bed frame sheets pillows and mattress protector I have zinus green tea bed that was on a metal frame after six years it was killing me I hope this bed can fix the shoulder and back pain this caused how do you wash the pillows is my question, and also does the bed sleep hot? In the summer the zinus bed made my room 10 degrees hotter thanks in advance for your help.

The fact that you’re still tossing and turning is problematic and unfortunately, still attributed to your mattress. With the proper mattress, you won’t have to adjust as much, which is the cause of your tossing and turning.

No you cant really take foam out of them. It would ruin it.

Are these mattresses good for people with sleep apnea?
I am not sure. I don't know the science behind the bed. I have heard in the past that adjustable beds are good for sleep apnea. But again, I just read that online so i'm not sure. Sorry I wasn't able to answer this better:/
there are no bed that is good for sleep apnea, exercise, diet and using cpap machine is the cure for sleep apnea.

The website tells you all of the frames it can use. If in doubt you can call them or just put it on the floor to be safe. This is one of the only foam mattresses i have seen that are ok on a box spring.
Hello! I just have a normal typical box spring. I just used the same one from my previous bed. I think as long as the base is strong it should work. But it would probably be good to reach out the Nectar just to make sure! good luck!

I ordered a full and they said it was on backorder and wouldnt ship for another 3 weeks or so. But for my troubles they said they would knock off another $30 off of my purchase. Im getting a refund and Im gonna order a queen which they said they had in stock so it would ship out asap.

Guess it depends where you live on how fast you get it. I bought a king and got it 3-4 days later. I reached out on chat to confirm they had the size I wanted and the pillows. I agree with her review it only been a couple days and my back has still test to adjust to it. I had memory foam before this one and it was very comfortable from EL Dorado furniture. In the morning it’s great still don’t want to get up but force myself outta bed. The mattress very firm feeling don’t feel much molding to my body. Pillows omg threw it off first night may give a second chance though. This is thorough review though same experiences she was having

I purchased this mattress and have been using for about 3 weeks. I have to admit this mattress has been giving me back pain. I will hold out a little longer to see if this changes. I hear there is a break in period for the mattress.
I am not sure of there is a break in period. But my back hurts too sometimes but it from me laying on my stomach. So make sure you are either laying on your side or your back!

DO NOT ORDER from Nectar. Their delivery window is garbage. They state 7-10 days on the website. I am on day 12 with no end in sight. Their only reply is "We are working on it." By the way, they only let you know it will be late after you pay. I had several online chats asking about delivery dates as I moved and did not want to take my bed with me. They clearly knew they had delays, but never mentioned this in the chats. Customer service is of absolutely no help.
Sorry to hear that! I didn't have any problems with my shipping. But also it is weird times right now with the Corona going on so maybe thats why. But that isn't an excuse for them not telling you there was a delay. They should have told you. But also just take into consideration everything that is going on right now. I hope it has made it to you by now! good luck!

Honestly, this mattress gets pretty warm
I don't get very warm when I sleep on it. But everyone is different! I also didn't sleep on it in the middle of the summer so maybe that would make a difference.
