What's not mentioned in this review is the drop in build quality over the previous model. -Hard plastics on the door cards in the back -No plastic trim around windows leaving exposed body paint inside -No chrome handle on glove box or handbrake button -No carpet under the spare wheel -Cupholders are not adjustable anymore
-Only one light in boot (previous model had 2) -Lower spec models no longer get independent rear suspension affecting ride quality -Volume knob replace with a gimmick that only works with motion gesture This new model sadly does not match the old model's build quality thanks to Audi's cost cutting.
@@pf1133 if you add the storage pack you have two LED lights in the boot. Avoid the cheapest engine and you get fully independent suspension. Oh, the new touch sensitive volume knob is absolutely fine and works very well. I’m so glad I didn’t listen to all the negative nonsense I read on social media.
But only 1.5 with 150 hp, anything less then 150 hp doesn't have independent rear suspension , same thing with Golf Mk7 and Mk8. Older Golf Mk5 and Mk6 have independent rear suspension in all versions, even with weakest engines. I have Audi A3 Sportback 2009 with only 105 hp but still have independent rear suspension . Apparently, VW has been working to reduce production costs.
fabian78 looking at the pricing the A4 seems better value but my money would be on a skoda audi is just for people with self esteem issues, having had audis never again
Dash DriverUK I currently own a 2017 A4 which will be replaced by the A3 Sportback. I know I could have bought another A4 for the same money, but I prefer a fully loaded A3 which is also a newer project, more compact and more suitable to be driven most of time in congested London traffic. Oh, and no, I don’t have any self esteem issues at all. I owned 7 Skodas before the Audi and yes they’re nice cars and good value for money. But I still prefer to have an Audi now. And it’s not badge snobbery, I just think they look and feel more premium than a Skoda, as it should be. Different cars for different needs and different budgets.
I can't decide between standard or sport suspension. I've configured my A3 with 17-inch wheels. Would you say the sport suspension will be confortable with those ? I would really like to add that more "sporty" feeling and handling to the car, without sacrificing too much comfort.
You asked, so here you go: This entire car and Audi's recent product releases WREAK of Diesel Gate. So much cost cutting in materials. In many ways, this is a downgrade to the outgoing model but people will still buy it in droves, so I guess it doesn't matter much does it??
Iv also reviewed the a3 sportback in atolblue. Wamna check it out and tell me how i did? Im a car reviewer who recently started making youtube videos and could use some constructive criticism :)

Nice review. First it was dad jokes, now it’s singing....I feel sorry for the person behind the camera having to spend the day with Anthony 🤣🤣🤣. Keep it up though - nice to see a bit of humour mixed with a proper review.
Pascal B. Absolutely, a similarly speced A3 tester (Mat Watson’s Carwow) could be had for about £24K. Here in Australia, at A$73K, I could go for a S3 and still have a few A$Ks spare cash in my pocket.
A lot more premium, a lot more expensive...he said. Completely forgot to speak about horrible cheap plastic on lower part of front doors, lower part of the dash and even worse on the rear doors on the top as well ! You shouldn't find that on a expensive Audi and yes they cheated big time. Well, enjoy the badge as that's what you're paying, not everywhere, in places but enough to be on your nerves knowing that's far away from premium
@@HandyAndyHomer well, I think that's how Audi will get the customers regardless what they do. I said something very clear, specific and true, that comparing with the old A3 actually they went down in the quality of materials, and they shouldn't as they are premium badge. Drive experience...what exactly you mean by that? It drives exactly like a Golf, if you go and do test drives and being honest with yourself you will acknowledge driving is the same. They have exactly the same mechanical and electrical components, especially with the current situation of VW group they will not spend a penny for something special for Audi. So where is the difference there? It should be that on Audi, being premium, to have better/brighter/nicer touchscreens and displays and...much better materials and this is where they cheat. Btw, I spent quite a bit of time on both A3 and A4 checking every single panel inside the car( I work in automotive industry so can't help myself) . There is no cheating on any part of A4
You talk rubbish. The car is so much better than previous. Great interior. Test drove both this and Golf and no comparison. My Edition One arrives next week! Can’t wait!
The interior on the new A3 is much much inferior to the old A3. The quality and feel is plasticky and the design and location of the buttons have been poorly thought about and executed. I kept the new 2020 model for six weeks and replaced it with the previous version. The cabin is so much more classy in the older A3.

No Chrome handle on the glove box.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Quality sign. 😂😂😂😂
The 1.5 comes with independent rear suspension so that adds to a reason for the upgrade I would auggest

Mine is coming in November! Tango red with black pack, 19 inch wheels, panoramic sunroof, matrix and B&O sound system ... I can’t wait!

when did you order it?
Giuseppe Mastroianni 22 August... they told me it should arrive by the end of November but I’m not sure. I still don’t have a build date yet.
Can I see your car? 😍

About to put money down tomorrow. Thinking saloon but on sure if I should get the sportback

You are right
Another humerous review thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
i don't know how in another countries, in uk flat bottom steering wheel on s-line is an option....
It's not the Quattro you asked Anthony for but it's at least a sporty hatch back.
No, not quite. Close enough though. :)
Patient is key
Lovely car great review!! Love the interior

You deserve a thumbs up just for the intro 😂😂
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
What's the link between the A3 and Sesame Street, though?
There is no link between the A3 and Sesame Street, unfortunately. It was loosely based on something they do - th-cam.com/video/D2Lpyd6KWTQ/w-d-xo.html
@@carsirelanddotie Ok, now it makes total sense 😄
Great review! Did this come with the MHEV? Any "feels" of the hybrid motor?
It did. You really wouldn't notice it, seems to help out with stop/start and helps the engine from time to time.
@@carsirelanddotie sounds like a great little addition to have!
Does this car have a 360° parking camera?
Nice humorous touches! 👍🏻
Thanks! 😃
Good review. And a few laughs. What's not to like about subscribing. I'd say review days are great fun. Keep it up.
Flat bottom steering wheel doesn’t come on all a line midels
Now I want to know who's behind the camera, spurring Anthony on to do silly voices
Great review, keep up the good work. The Batman seat! 😂

I enjoyed watching the Video Review. Looks great 👍 In S Line Trim
I think that’s the Edition 1 Trim
Fuel consumption in l/100km?
About 7.5l/100km.

Tim does have a hard job alright! :)
CarsIreland.ie well the thumps up are for Tim then lol 😂. Don’t want to see how excited Anthony will get if he’s ever sent a Quattro
Does it have a roof spoiler?
It has two... :)
Don't like them air vents look out of place like in the golf
still a lovley Audi a 3though
45k for an Audi A3 you would want to be off your ROCKER
Wow, pricey, €45k for this 1.5 tfsi S-line tester! That’s like A$73k.
I thought we are paying too much for cars in Australia.
Cars in Ireland are massively overpriced. Just across the border in the UK prices drop 10-20% for equal models. It's mad.

Totally disagree. Yes they have compromised in areas but they have replaced that with what really matters. The drive experience.

Yep, 5 door only. The 3 door is just not cool anymore...

Lovely Jubbly video, Seat Leon for me, not a badge snob.
The Leon is very impressive. We just filmed a review last week. Should be on the channel in a few weeks.
Much bette than the a class and golf
€45k for an A3? Seems excessive!
In belgium they're cheaper, check out my review of it and i would love to hear what you think of it :)
1:48 all cars are made for short people 😁 not exceeding 5ft 8.
I reviewed this new a3 aswell and i had plentt of room, im about 5'10 almost 5'11. Check out my review and let me know how u liked it :)
Rough booomps :)
First viewer here
bumpers are way too fussy and overstyled, like the honda civic, just not as bad.
totally uninspiring looking car
On it’s an a-tree not an A3
Such a rip off 38 grand lol.
Can get a 10 year old A3 2.0 TDI for 3 grand lol
I hate my new a3 it's horrible to live with
In what way?
Intro was rubbish - the video should be about the car.
Try and be a bit more professional Mr Irish.
