  • My old dock lines were too fat to go through the cleats on my Skeeter ZX225. I found a better and easier way to tie my boat to the dock by using the Airhead Bungee Dockline and a carabiner.

    Thank you from a brand new boat owner who’s about to buy a new boat in a few days! Just order all of this.

    The last 2 seconds of the vid was perfect. I knew it would float but not quite like the round ones. Looks like they will work thanks bud

    Great idea... does that loop stay secure on windy days? I wanted quicker solution to tie up and think this will work great

      Get strong carabiners. I bought cheap ones and they did break on windy days.

    Great. But, I sure wouldn't trust my boat to a $2 caribiner. I'd get one rated at a couple hundred pounds...

    Guess if you enjoy scratches from the carabiner this is a good idea. Stop being lazy and go get the proper size dock line.

    • @y2says
      @y2says  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No scratches. If you're that worried about scratches, you shouldn't have a bass boat to begin with.

    • @Cerus98
      @Cerus98 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Set The Hook Fishing - Metal plus gel coat/paint=scratches. Unless you expect people to believe you have some magical, scratch proof boat.
      I’ve seen 20 year old boats with flawless paint jobs. Scratches are a bad thing especially on glass boats.
      Do what you wish but a proper sized dock line is chump change. If you can’t afford one then perhaps you shouldn’t have a bass boat?

    • @y2says

      Cerus98 metal toughing metal. Have you looked at the cleats on these before making your comments?

    • @Cerus98
      @Cerus98 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Set The Hook Fishing - Have you looked what’s around the cleat? Can clearly see the clip touching the gunwale. It will also wear down the chrome plating on the cleat.
      Jerry rig it if you want but a $10 dock line is the proper tool. They even have built in loops for those too lazy to braid one themselves.

      Cerus98 there's a gap there. Haha. Have fun with your own boat and if you don't like the idea, I'm fine with that. I wipe down my boat after every trip and if I notice scratches, I wouldn't be using that anymore. So far, no scratches.

    Good way to scratch your boat up, they're called fenders btw.

    • @y2says
      @y2says  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol. How about you try them first before assuming? I'm pretty anal about my stuff and if it scratched up my boat, I'll wouldn't be using it let alone make a video of it. I'm also an ESL grad, so I apologize if I didn't call them "fenders". Must have flunked AP English in high school.
