This post may be long, but I wanted to tell you that I enjoyed that video as much as I have enjoyed any other sailing video on TH-cam. Your genuine excitement and happiness about accomplishing a ten year dream gave me goosebumps; to say I was jealous (because I still have two more years before we can go), would be doing you a disservice because you two earned every bit of your excitement and happiness. We have followed you from Canada to now, and we have no intention of stopping now. In my opinion, this is about as real a sailing channel as you can find on TH-cam. Congratulations on accomplishing your dream.
Funny. I (Candice) was reading it on my device at the same time and we both said “wow” out loud almost simultaneously. Also got emotional reading this. Happy to have you along for the ride! Thank you. 🍻
Hayhay guys, my wife and I are just emotional to see you get to your goal. Congrats, we really know exactly how you feel as we did the same. Just one IMPORTANT thing, I see that you generator is on the starboard side of you boat. A very big NONO, at a minimum get Candice to make a complete cover for it with canvas, as salty spray water and even the salty air will just kill it. Even your bikes if you store them on the outside of your boat. Friend had a new Honda 2000 on a stern platform of his catamaran and it didn't even take 6 months and the electronics blew. Not to tell you what to do I would even take it somewhat apart clean it and put some interesting agent on it. Love you guys the way you stay true to yourselves.
Thanks so much for the words of advice! I (Candice) will absolutely make a full cover for the generator. It’s on the long long list of sewing work to be done. Bikes have been stowed in the cockpit lockers. They will likely stay there each time we move until we’re settled somewhere for longer than a couple of days.
I am so happy for you both that you were able to accomplish a dream of yours. Just the pure joy in your faces and voices is priceless. You guys are so wonderful to watch and thank you for taking the time to explain your crossing. Enjoy every moment and can’t wait until your next video.
If you're still in Bimini, There is a cool tidal creek at the northwest corner of the island which is nice to explore. Also check out some rocky islets just south of Bimini. If you snorkel around them, you will find a cave that leads into an opening in the middle of the island. At low tide, the ceiling of the cave is in the air, so you can swim or snorkel all the way in. Just west of those rocky islets (that are themselves just south of Bimini) is a famous wreck that everyone likes to snorkel around. It is a huge freighter that is mostly falling apart with just the thick ribs and some of the upper deck remaining. Last I saw, someone had attached a ladder so you could climb up to deck level and jump off into the water. These are the things to do while you are in Bimini unless you're into big game fishing, in which case, you cruise along the wall where the bahama bank drops away into the miles deep canyon of the gulfstream.
Congrats.. The dream is just starting.. The bahamas are a beautiful place that most just dream about.. My wife and I got married our first time there together and have loved it ever since.. Hope you enjoy every minute of it.. It is true paradise.. The culture is also like no other.. The folks there are amazing.. (paradise is a place of exceptional happiness and delight)
Just like two little kids at Christmas! Except you are in the Bahamas! Blue water, Yellow flag, Star fish...You have arrived, from Canada to the rest of your adventure! Sail on! I loved what you have learned and shared, in such an honest way. I would love to meet you in the Caribean one day! Sail on!!
Congratulations!! You have accomplished something that I have dreamed about since I was 20 (55 now). You also accomplished something else. You made one of the better "beginning to end" gulf stream crossing videos that I have seen. Good job and thank you.
I always had no interest in boats, crossing water or oceans my entire life. Somehow I came across the Vagabond people months ago, I checked their stuff out because I was impressed with the quality of videos being produced on the go from a boat. After their video you were recommended to watch next, I think I saw something about Lake Sinclair which is near me (Oshawa) so I clicked it and that's how I discovered you guys. So a few days later, I'm caught up to episode 35! Finally getting to the Bahamas! Just wanted to congratulate you guys on living your dream and making it to your destination! You inspired me to learn to sail, I'm currently looking to enroll in a sailing course. Thanks for making these videos!
congrats on a safe crossing, don't expect the pre crossing jitters to go away, I still have trouble sleeping the night before after 8 seasons in Bahamas. Nice to see you slowing down.
Congratulations on making a safe crossing. We really enjoy your videos, they are very well done. You both seem so comfortable in front of the camera. Thanks for the kind words about Erie, PA when you were here. I was on my boat in Presque Isle Bay the day you left. I would have liked to give a honk and wave if I would have seen you. Good luck to you guys and clear sailing in the future.
I live in Montego Bay, Jamaica and I share your dream. I have been watching your videos and making my plans. If you ever get to Jamaica would love to meet and possibly show you the beautiful parts of our island.
You guys are living the dream (not just yours) and it gives us hope and motivation, and sense of pride ! Love the under water shots, so beautiful ! Enjoy every moment!...It was minus 16 with the wind in Halifax today...
Congrats kids. Praise God for giving you kids a safe sail.. Another prayer answered and your dream came true... Now have fun and enjoy living your dream... L,H,&P... BBE...
Congrats! So pumped for you guys! Finally clear blue waters. It's great that you guys were able to finally achieve your lifelong dreams. Now go out and explore, but make sure to bring us along with you! :)
Congrats Guys!!! I have enjoyed your videos very much. As a fellow Canuck, and a sailor-wanna-be, you are truly living my dream. So what's next? A tour of the Caribbean?
Wow! It's really cool that you took all of us along with you from the beginning. In a little way it's as if we actually are there with you guys. Congratulations guys....
That’s exactly our intention! We’d like to encourage anyone else out there with this dream or something similar to just do it! As cliche as it is, life really is too short. Thanks so much for following along! Hopefully we keep you hooked! 😉
Congratulations on making it to the Bahamas. It has been fabulous to watch your journey and see your excitement at making your dream come true. Enjoy your time there.
Congratulations Lady K! From one great lake sailor (Erie) to another. What an awesome achievement for you two. And, you did it your own way! God's speed
Thank you for publicly stating your confession. Many including myself are feeling and have felt this way. Hearing you say it has increased my resolve tremendously. Thank you! I will do my life’s adventures a little differently than you. I live in Atlanta and will base in Hilton Head. I plan to go to the Bahamas first before I head up to the Great Lakes, a place I spent much of my childhood. Hopefully our paths will cross. First beer will be on me! 😊
Wow! I've watched many of your episodes but have never seen you on an actual sailboat. Very cool - although for some reason I thought it would have been a Hunter sailboat. What type of sailboat is this? Looks just about perfect imo for kicking about the Bahamas.
Winnipegger here hoping to do the same thing in a few years....very nice video and informative. Sure beats rush hour traffic hey? Thanks for the vid... keep on keep'n on!
tears?...a soulful moment....been following since the lakes, well done ! I like that you want to actually sail as much as possible and motor as little as possible., and so many other things about you both as a sailing couple. will continue to follow.....fair winds :)
Congratulations on arriving in the Bahamas! We enjoy watching your videos. We have traveled much of the same path along the Atlantic Coast and we plan to take our boat to the Bahamas this coming spring. Cheers! Ed and Lyn

I really hope you do a live stream tomorrow as I am in the middle of a snowstorm here in newfoundland expected to dump 20 to 30 cm of the white stuff, equivalent to 8 to 12 inches.
Congratulations ! I’ve followed you from the beginning. I stumbled upon your channel by accident,I do not own a sailboat but your video content lured me in. Keep living your dream !
