    The amount of times you guys said "wow" Lol! I am Bahamian, living on Eleuthera, and I was thinking: " It's clear seawater, you see that every day"... Then I remember that not many people see that every day. And seriously, I do appreciate it, so wow away!

      We cannot say “wow” enough. Honestly. Every day we spend in the Bahamas, there is a new reason to say “wow”. This...is better than paradise. 🙌🏼❤️

    Seeing dolphins skimming along the bow of boats never gets old no matter how often you see it in videos. I wonder why they like it so much?

    It’s interesting to learn how things really are on some passages, waves, little wind, etc. I like how you are showing this as well.

    Good info on getting inside Norman’s Cay. We’ve thought about going up in there a dozen times, you’ve convinced us to do it next time! Enjoyed your video!

      Thanks for watching. It was actually pretty easy to get in. Enter, turn right just before the coral and turn left to the obvious channel between dark coral. Best wishes

    Thanks for showing this. People in Florida never see water this beautiful anymore. Its all contaminated by agricultural runoff, even the beaches. When I was a little kid, you could see the bottom in the ICW and catch lobsters under your dock, but you can't see 6 inches through that brown goo they call water there now. If they say the seafood is locally caught in Florida, order the hamburger. While at Norman's cay, check out the gigantic staghorn corals just outside that big rock point on the north side of the entrance to "the pond" where you anchored. Look for conch in very shallow water around the west side of the two tiny little islands at the north end of Normans on the west end of the cut between Normans and the next island to the north. If you get up that way, could you try to get some video of a house on the hill at the north end of Normans? Its not on the water, you have to walk up the road where there are several houses. The one I used to live in is at the highest point at the north end. It looks different on google earth now, but I can't see enough detail to know what the current owners have done with it. You're catching barracuda because you're fishing in the wrong place. The banks are full of barracuda. You fish for mahi, tuna and other gamefish in the deep blue water. Around Normans and the Exumas, thats on the east side in Exuma sound. Crossing the tongue of the ocean is another good spot. Its best right along "the escarpment", The drop-off from shallow water of the banks and the deep water of the sound. Try to run just along the deep side of the escarpment, if you drift back over the shallow side, you'll get more barracuda.

    Great video. If you're using hi test line, use gloves if you can. If you get a big fish it will hurt. If it's a smaller fish and a bigger one bites on that, you can loose a finger, or if you wrap the line around your around wrists some serious damage. Friend of mine lost a finger salmon fishing. Happy fishing. And fair winds

    Wow says it all...you can’t really describe it to anyone better, it has to be experienced. You’re reaction says it all and yes, the dolphins. Heading down there in 2 years so thanks for the scoping out and great vids. All I’ve ever wanted was dolphins on the bow and joked that I’ll sell the boat when it happens but those waters are hard to leave. Merry Christmas in paradise and congrats on a dream fulfilled.

    The dolphins were awesome. And as for your final anchorage for the night, WOW indeed!!!
    BTW, if you are going to Eleuthera, make sure you go to the Cape Eleuthera Marina and then hike about a mile up the street and take a tour of the Island School. It is really cool. Their website is www.islandschool.org and they also have a phenomenal Vimeo video channel. You can also get some great footage of bull sharks and nurse sharks in that marina. They always come in when the fishermen clean their fish. Check it out. In the meantime, keep up the good work and keep those videos coming. All the best, Jim Andersen, Cat Boat Adventures, Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts

    Power questions: what percentage of time did you running the auto pilot ? Were your solar panels sufficient and if not, how long did you run your engine to charge up?

    • @LadyKSailing
      @LadyKSailing  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey. Actually it’s rare that we use the autopilot. Typically only when motoring. We’ve got 550 watts of solar and run the generator only when it’s been cloudy all day. We have unique power needs however. Most people would not use as much as we use but that’s because we have so much gear related to the TH-cam channel

When we saw the footage of the 4 cruise ships in Nassau, it was like the picture we took because we can see them from the Hilton Colonial where we are staying. We ran into a couple yesterday in Nassau who have sailed from Canada too and are spending the next 6 months sailing around Bahamas, working off their boat. Love following your journey! I am curious what that person was doing out there in the first place if losing his electronics made him completely lost. Did he not have his charts, compass, and the ability to navigate that way still? Are some of these would-be-sailors actually just relying 100% on electronic navigation aids these days? Simply put, just basically armchair sailors who couldn't care less about their own safety or what they are doing. I wouldn't trust the lot of them in a bathtub.

    I enjoyed the dolphins best but could REALLY have done without the use of the Lord's name in vain. Beware of foul language if ya got kids watching with you. Perhaps they could try not to do it in the future.
