Helen lived such a full and amazing life........ despite her disabilities. Wow, look how she goes down the stairs on her own, amazing! she went all over the world!
Thank you for these beautiful 'photos and footage of Helen and her companion Polly Thomson's visit to the Middle East. What a remarkable woman and ambassador for the blind and deaf. A really extensive tour ..... totally fascinating, riveting stuff!! She experienced a lot during this tour always using her hands and sense of smell in the garden and with the flowers the little girl was holding. Very lovely music too. Lorraine ~

I imagine her emotion in touching the statues of the Cairo museum. I like the photo with the Dromedaries and the visit to the Garden of Gethsemane. Thanks for stopping by. It's nice to hear from you. Yes...Helen Keller was an ambassador for peace. I suspect the modern-day middle east looks a bit different than when Helen visited in 1952.

It's truly fascinating to see historical footage of Helen Keller's visit to the Middle East in 1952. Helen Keller was an extraordinary person who overcame her disabilities to become a renowned writer and social activist. Her journey to Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Israel is an important part of her legacy, and this video provides valuable insights into her life and experiences during that time. The choice of music, "Adagio" by J.S. Bach, adds a contemplative and reflective tone to the video. Thank you for sharing this historical footage on the Helen Keller Channel. It's a remarkable glimpse into the past.

Thanks Jagdish. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Helen was in her 70's when she made the trip. She seems to have had a lot of energy and stamina. I'm sure the journey must have taken longer in the early 1950's. Best wishes! 🐼

This video is a remarkable glimpse into history! Helen Keller's journey through Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Israel, accompanied by Polly Thomson, is both inspiring and enlightening. The choice of Bach's "Adagio" adds a poignant touch. The subtitles provide valuable context, and the meeting with Golda Meir is a captivating moment. Thanks for sharing this extraordinary footage! How so very rare scees from Helen Keller's visit to Middle East! How so incredible moments! Absolutely astounding! Thank you so very mcuh my dear friend for sharing with us all this magic from an other world... from an other reality that has nothing to do with how everything is nowadays... and this 'nowadays' is much more ugly than how it was back then... Helen! I've never seen these photos! Wonderful! One can understand Helen's deep appreciation and full use from her remaining senses of touch and smell. She could tell us seeing and hearing population a great deal about both. Thank you for a great video!
Hi Anne. Thanks for the kind comment. Actually I was having so many issues with my movie maker, that I almost didn't post this video. LOL 😮 And I couldn't get the overlay captions to work. I wanted to add a short film clip of Helen visiting the "Village of the Blind" in Israel...but the sound wouldn't come through for the clip, and I couldn't do captions... so I just skipped that part. My next video for Halloween should be a lot easier...just photos and music. Anyway hope you're doing well. It's only been in the low 80's the past few days...so I don't feel like I'm melting from the heat 😃 Best Wishes! 🌿🐸🐸🌿
@@IamHelenKeller Hello Helen, maybe you can us the Israel footage in its own vid. I'm sorry the caption feature wasn't working! I know you wanted that ability in your video program. Hoping it's cooler there!
@@blessOTMA Well...the film clip of Helen visiting the village is only about 30 seconds long. I suppose I could use it as a "Stand-Alone" video, and call it "Helen Keller Visits the Village of the Blind"...especially if I could find some additional photos of the village to add to the video, to lengthen it. But on the other hand...people have such short attention spans these days, that 30 seconds might be a good length. Sort of like a Tik-Tok video. LOL 🐸. Hope things are going well for you. It's been a bit cooler. and stormy and rainy the last couple of days here. It's usually either very dry or very wet here. The weather here usually isn't quite as moderate or balanced as it is on the east coast. Best Wishes...Always! 🦋🐼🐼🦋
@@IamHelenKeller YT has now what are called "shorts", (though how to do one is still a mystery to me!) 30 seconds would fit right in! Glad it's cooler down there. We have had rain for a week! I'm better. My knee decided to cooperate this week! 😂 Hope you are well too! How many birds do you have now? Warm wishes as always😀
@@blessOTMA Yes...I've seen where some people have "Shorts" on their channel. But I usually don't bother interacting with those, unless that's all the channel has...as you can't pause, or re-wind them, etc... and they have a few other limitations. It looks like they're all filmed on cell phones in "Portrait Mode". Meaning the video is always tall and skinny. I assume you have to upload them to youtube from your cell phone. It's amazing how many people don't have a desk-top p.c. or even a laptop. I couldn't imagine watching videos only on a cell phone. The screen is so tiny. You'd miss out on a lot of detail. I'd probably get eye strain, or a neck-ache, like some people do from being bent over their cell phone for extended periods. Glad you're not having knee problems this week. It seems that people with knee issues usually have more problems during damp rainy weather. I only have one bird now. Just my small parrot named Squirt. I keep him over at my mother's house. I usually take him out onto the screened porch every morning and he has his sweet coffee with chocolate . But as he gets older he's been getting more bad tempered. (He's about 20 yrs old or more, now I think.) He's normally affectionate...but a few days ago when I started to pet him, he flew at me and bit my chin and when I grabbed him to pull him off, he bit my hand. Nothing very serious. But I shook my hand and he got slung across the the room and hit the wall. So he was "On restriction" in his cage for a few days. But today he was sweet again and cuddled up on my shoulder next to my ear while he watched "Hazel" with me on the Desktop P.C. Anyway...Hope you have a great evening! 🦜 🌿🥀🥀🌿

It's amazing how she could undertake such extensive travels and express such delight at all she experienced ! An amazing woman. Thank you so much for sharing this ! # 103. Warm wishes, Jagdish
Thanks Jagdish. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Helen was in her 70's when she made the trip. She seems to have had a lot of energy and stamina. I'm sure the journey must have taken longer in the early 1950's. Best wishes! 🐼
Happy trip with beautiful memories of Syria and the Egyptian Museum

This video is a remarkable glimpse into history! Helen Keller's journey through Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Israel, accompanied by Polly Thomson, is both inspiring and enlightening. The choice of Bach's "Adagio" adds a poignant touch. The subtitles provide valuable context, and the meeting with Golda Meir is a captivating moment. Thanks for sharing this extraordinary footage! Thank you so very mcuh my dear friend for sharing with us all this magic from an other world... from an other reality that has nothing to do with how everything is nowadays... and this 'nowadays' is much more ugly than how it was back then... 헬렌 켈러 여사의 생애를 담은 사진 영상이군요. 정말 대단한 자료입니다 .3:28
Thanks for watching. Have a beautiful day, my friend!
Hope you are well too!
Seeing old and memorable photos with this relaxing music ❤
Thanks for watching. Have a beautiful day.
