Helen Keller... always looked very glamorous and happy, no matter what she was doing, you sure share some nice memories of her, throughout her life, she was deaf and blind, however she held the world in her hands with amazing style... she dressed to elegant and held her head up high, like she did not have a care in the world, so many people helped her, she was very lucky..

Hi Anne Yes, India was part of Helen's 40,000 mile Asian tour. Undertaken in her 70's.. I think Polly deserves more acknowledgement for her role in Helen's life. It's only natural that Anne Sullivan would have gotten the lion's share of the recognition. But a lot of people aren't very aware of Polly's role in later years. Glad you enjoyed the little video. @@blessOTMAYes...I have to admire Polly's social skills, as well as her organizational abilities. It must have been a challenge to deal with all of the different organizations, social events and celebrities that wanted to involve her and Helen. Her full name was actually Mary Agnes "Polly" Thomson. Hope things are going well for you. We haven't seen a new video from you since "Golden Papa", 5 months ago. I suppose I'll have to release a new video in a week or 2. I try to upload once a month if I remember. I still have a tiny handful of film clips I haven't used before...but I might just do a "re-release" in higher resolution of something I've done before. Some of my videos from 10 or 12 years ago are in lower resolution and are sort of "fuzzy". I finally had my house re-roofed. Hope you were able to get your plumbing issues resolved. Warm Wishes! :)
@@IamHelenKeller Oh indeed Helen! When one thinks of all the paperwork and arrangements needed as well as attending to Helen! Polly was remarkable. It is known how Annie found her? Mary Agnes sounds like another colleen, like Annie. I'm still having video software problems. I have movie maker on my new \old computer , but no preview window! It stays black. This has held me up...but I am going ahead and making a vid without one! Just eye balling it from the story board! 😂 This is due to lack comparability between the program and my particular Windows 7. I can't figure it out. Then I realized I could make a vid just using the flim strip below. One can't make titles without the preview window, so I made one online and took a photo! Photos and music work fine. Thank you for asking. Uploading your older videos at higher resolution is a great idea. Glad your house is roofed! I put the plumber on the back burner , but am gearing up to try again. Warm wishes my friend! 😁
@@blessOTMA Interestingly, Anne and Polly didn't know each other, but shared the same hairdresser. Anne mentioned to the hairdresser that she was looking for someone to help shoulder the burden of a publicity tour that she and Helen were going to do, and the hairdresser arranged a meeting between Polly and Anne...and the rest is history. :) Yes,...Anne was "Boston-Irish" and I believe Polly was originally from Scotland as her Scottish "brogue" testifies. There's a book called "Helen Keller in Scotland", written in the 1930's. Detailing an extended visit of Helen and Polly's, I don't know if Anne was still living at the time. I haven't read it yet because it's not online and there are only a few existing copies for sale, and it's sort of expensive. But I may read it someday. For some reason I've been thinking about the Romanovs a lot the last few days. Not sure why. Good luck with your video making endeavors. Sounds like you're coming up with some creative solutions. "Where there's a will there's a way". I had a couple of local "handymen" do my roof, because the roofers in town were all booked up for months ahead. It ended up being cheaper for me, but half way through the job the 2 guys started bickering over who was doing more work, and they both walked off the job in a huff. And I had to act as mediator to get them to bury the hatchet and return to work. LOL. what a headache. But they DID finish the job, and it seems like the they did a good job. It must have been a challenge to deal with all of the different organizations, social events and celebrities that wanted to involve her and Helen. Her full name was actually Mary Agnes "Polly" Thomson. Hope things are going well for you. We haven't seen a new video from you since "Golden Papa", 5 months ago. I suppose I'll have to release a new video in a week or 2. I try to upload once a month if I remember. I still have a tiny handful of film clips I haven't used before...but I might just do a "re-release" in higher resolution of something I've done before. Some of my videos from 10 or 12 years ago are in lower resolution and are sort of "fuzzy". I finally had my house re-roofed. Hope you were able to get your plumbing issues resolved. Warm Wishes! :)
@@IamHelenKeller Oh indeed Helen! When one thinks of all the paperwork and arrangements needed as well as attending to Helen! Polly was remarkable. It is known how Annie found her? Mary Agnes sounds like another colleen, like Annie. I'm still having video software problems. I have movie maker on my new \old computer , but no preview window! It stays black. This has held me up...but I am going ahead and making a vid without one! Just eye balling it from the story board! 😂 This is due to lack comparability between the program and my particular Windows 7. I can't figure it out. Then I realized I could make a vid just using the flim strip below. One can't make titles without the preview window, so I made one online and took a photo! Photos and music work fine. Thank you for asking. Uploading your older videos at higher resolution is a great idea. Glad your house is roofed! I put the plumber on the back burner , but am gearing up to try again. Warm wishes my friend! 😁
@@blessOTMA Interestingly, Anne and Polly didn't know each other, but shared the same hairdresser. Anne mentioned to the hairdresser that she was looking for someone to help shoulder the burden of a publicity tour that she and Helen were going to do, and the hairdresser arranged a meeting between Polly and Anne...and the rest is history. :) Yes,...Anne was "Boston-Irish" and I believe Polly was originally from Scotland as her Scottish "brogue" testifies.
There's a book called "Helen Keller in Scotland", written in the 1930's. Detailing an extended visit of Helen and Polly's, I don't know if Anne was still living at the time. I haven't read it yet because it's not online and there are only a few existing copies for sale, and it's sort of expensive. But I may read it someday. For some reason I've been thinking about the Romanovs a lot the last few days. Not sure why. Good luck with your video making endeavors. Sounds like you're coming up with some creative solutions. "Where there's a will there's a way". I had a couple of local "handymen" do my roof, because the roofers in town were all booked up for months ahead. It ended up being cheaper for me, but half way through the job the 2 guys started bickering over who was doing more work, and they both walked off the job in a huff. And I had to act as mediator to get them to bury the hatchet and return to work. LOL. what a headache. But they DID finish the job, and it seems like the they did a good job. So at least it's all over and done with. Warm Wishes!
