    Could you do a list or recommend hiking shoes and boots? Theyre all stiff.

    Curious about your thoughts on minimal type shoes (Birkenstock, Crocs,, etc) for just around the house or daily living (not running or exercise walking)?

    Another question about toe box. I read your other reply. I need a wide toe box to reduce Morton’s neuroma pain. I have narrow heels. Going to a wide shoe makes it sloppy on my heal even if trying to use a runners loop. The Altras fit that part well but now I understand the support issue on the heel. I also have some Topo shoes Ultrafly 4 stability shoe 5mm drop, same wide toe box kinda between the altra original widest and the altra regular wide toe box, that seem to have the stiffer heel cup. Have you seen those? I am working with a PT currently, years of postural issues primarily due to hyper mobility that have my entire body wonky, in pain, and a fused like high arch for accommodation. I need to feel the ground. I know you can’t check out 100s of shoes but could the Topo be a candidate for the person that needs a wide toe box to reduce neuroma pain, has a narrow heel, and fits the 3 point criteria? Searching for a shoe……i do work for a store that sells shoes and outfits gear for outdoor activities, and I can’t wait to look at those shoes with a new criteria for myself, thank you.

      If the shoe fits the criteria that we look at for stability from the calcaneus and also fist the needs you have for your specific foot (neuroma) we would have no issues with it. (Ideally you should be checked to make sure you are PRI neutral with it in but if that is not possible you'd go off of the qualities and how you feel) We love when people take some self control over this and use the information and apply it to their own situation. That's really why we want to put the list out. Not to give people limitations on what shoes they can buy but give them an ability to make better decisions for themselves!

    Lori, I was wearing Altra Torin 7 shoes for 30 days, and felt unstable. So I decided to try on Brooks Ghost 16, from hruska shoe list. I feel more ankle stability, but myleft si joint discomfort has increased. Can you provide feedback 🙏🏽

    For me the Dyad (wide) were perfect and I had been using them for walking for 10 years. Any recommendations now that I have to replace them? thanks a lot!

    Are there any modifications I can make to my existing shoe to improve the outside heel give? The reason is that I have a pair of Altra Escalante 3 which I really like to wear because of the extremely wide toolbox (A factor that I’m not sure is considered in the hruska shoe list). the only thing is lack of heel sense is messing with my hip mobility (I think). To me, this is the worst part of this particular shoe. I’m not sure if hruska have reviewed Altra in general as a potential candidate.

      Phillip, Thanks for the comment. We have looked at the Altras, and as you mentioned because of the heel counter it isn't a brand of shoe we feel comfortable recommending without limitations. (If you were around we did have some Altras on our list a few years back). We also found that for some... not all... the Zero drop made it harder for them to sense heels rather than easier. That doesn't mean its not a good shoe for some people, but it doesn't make the cut. Most shoes with wider toe-boxes have wider heels, So its a give and take. If you need lateral heel guidance perhaps adding a Currex insert (has a cupped heel) could help. Also sometimes taking the original shoes in the list and ordering a wide can give you the better heel counter and room for your forefoot. Thanks again for the comment.

      @@HruskaClinic thanks so much for such a detailed answer, I really appreciate it! The reason I bought the altras was because I was getting injured from Vivobarefoot but wanted to keep the wide toebox. Still having issues with my feet so I will get it checked out and test my heel sense :)

    Would you guys have any football boot recommendations? I am completing my PRI training and starting to dabble into choosing shoes... I am now looking for football boots and wondering what your recommendation would be here... Thanks

    Does range of motion for your big toe differ for guys? I find that my big toes only go up by about 45-50 degrees, with my right toe being slightly more bendy. Is this still an okay range of motion?

    • @HruskaClinic
      @HruskaClinic  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      "Normal" range of motion is 80-90 degrees. I (Torin) personally wouldn't put anyone in the limited toe category unless they are in the 20-30 degree range so I'd stay in the "regular" category until you prove you cant!
