Cat 3116. Had the same issue removing last bolt on starter. Bought a "toggle extension", which let my socket fit flush and the wrench had clearance. I almost took a grinder to my regular extension to make one. It's about 20 bucks for a set of toggle extensions. Pruno
The dozer is a 1993 D3C and the starter is a WPS 6600N. The engine is a Cat 3204. In hindsight, I would have taken the belly pan off first, then driven the dozer onto 6x6 blocks to give myself a little more head room. I hope helps! Good luck

Is that 6600n starter for a cummins engine? I am looking to replace my starter for the 3204 cat.
This starter fits many different engines and I believe it fits the Cummins as well. It was a worth while swap.
