Originally conceived to excel in military and municipal duty, the Mercedes G-Wagon has amazingly been in production for over thirty-four years. It is one of the longest running Mercedes designs ever created and surprisingly has transformed from a purely militaristic machine into one of the highest-end, high-performance, four-wheel drive mega-machines on the market. The G-Wagen starts at a cool $114,000 USD and keeps going to unheard up heights depending on options. Today the machine is the best selling AMG product in the United States. Yet unlike a lot of SUVs that are incapable of getting dirty, when you take a G-Wagon off-road three sequentially lockable differentials kick into action and offer a masterful amount of additional traction. Even better, the G65 variant is the brand’s first 12-cylinder model and uses AMG’s famous 6.0-liter V12 biturbo engine. Pairing gutsy off-road agility with brash & brutal on-road performance. This is one bad ass ride.

Looks like a pimped Suzuki Samurai from 1985. This must be the car industry´s emperor's New Clothes. The most impressive is how M-B hyped boring design and old technology to sell at all.
