Thanks for the info .Pig's will make a mud whole right there at the water nipple every time . They take turns holding the nipple open . That's a big waste of water . I raised hogs 30 years ago and we had to pour a slab of concrete at the water nipple site . We had permanent pens 100 by 100 ft.. I just retired and starting my little 19 acre homestead . God Bless .
I live in an area that sees freezing temperatures for about 2-4 months. Have you tried to add a heater to this? Our pigs pull them out and chew on the heaters. Any idea's suggestions? Thank you for your videos love watching them. Also, could you do some DIY on the tire/feeders and the movable chicken house? Would absolutely love to see how you built those.
So the benefit of this design is particularly in the platform. The pigs (who this is designed for primarily) have to stand in the platform to drink. They can’t nudge it or push it over and the water level stays low enough so they can’t splash it out and make a mud hole right in front of their drinker. Portability of the tote is also a feature but I guess you could get that with a trough as well.
Came here from Country Acres. Good info.

Will this setup work for 40-50 pound piglets? Wondering if their necks are long enough at that point.
I think it would. Just have to make sure the hole is short enough or the water level is high enough.
I like simple. Why not find a used pallet for a base?
That might not be a bad idea. I'll look into it. Thanks
Whats the purpose of having the animals head into this enclosed box vs just an open trough with a float valve?

@@SheratonParkFarms oh I understand. So the pigs like to cause trouble I didn’t factor that in. They will push over their water source and be jerks 😂
