After my one and only ipod crapped out on me within a year of buying it, my dad refused to buy me another one, and got me a zune instead. I have never gone back. I have all three models of the zune and they all still work. I use my zune HD every day.
Anna June Carol i loaded mine up with all kinds of shit three or four years ago, and now that the internet explorer 7 has died, I treasure the thing for the fantastic hd FM receiver ( and the library I painstakingly installed to the 16 gb card )
That's weird. My brother's Ipod lasted over 10 years without issue... same with my sisters... and people I know still use the original Ipod they got 17 years ago without much issue... I lost mine... but I preferred spending time with computers anyways at the time... messing with Linux XD How did you ruin it in only a year??? And didn't you have a warranty?
I would say the best ones at launch would have been the 80/120 for space/usability/sound quality reasons. I've heard the HD is great, but I've never used one so can't comment there. However, I would say the balance has swung in favour of the 30 recently, since it is much much easier to replace the battery on one (the 80 and 120 need have their batteries soldered in!), and it can easily be upgraded to the same capacity as the 80/120 if you get the right hard drive/ssd.
Microsoft already tried and failed on-demand music subscriptions? That's...tragic when you look at Pandora and Spotify now. We shoveled dollar bills at Apple for so long we were blind to features we were blessed with over a decade ago :(
Cool video. I had a zune in 2008 strictly because of the fm radio. I can’t remember if iPod didn’t offer radio, or it was crappy, but I rocked the zune because of that
I still have and use my zune 30gb original, zune 80gb and my zune hd 32gb. My zune hd headphone jack spot crapped out, but it lasted forever and I got it used on Craigslist. I love zune
I never knew the ram component in my zune hd was 128 mb. actually not much. it explains a lot of issues with slowness and buffering back in the day. The last time I was surfing the net on it might have been the summer of 15! also, the oled monitor allows the user 3 plus hours of playback on one charge, where apple led units crap out in an hour and a half.. (just don't fire up the FM radio!!)
Welp, no need to argue. Metro UI is dead. Just a simple fact. Also Microsoft admitted later on, that "Metro" was just a code name (hyped by the media), so actually the proper name for that design language is Modern UI (they also settled on Modern UI naming due to some copyright claims). Then they abandoned Modern UI for MDL2 and I agree, this might be confusing, since there are some similarities, but saying that Windows 10 is using metro is just wrong. The pivot controls are gone and were replaced with hamburger menus (oh how I miss pivots :'( ), there is a lot of transparency (even more prominent with Fluent Design) which is crucial difference from Modern UI, where you can't see any of that and and the list goes on... In conclusion: Before Win 10 - Modern UI After Win 10 - MDL2
I still have my Zune to this day I love it

The Zune HD didn't get that name just from the HD radio feature, but because you could output HD video with the use of an accessory.

Oh Zune and your crazy squircle...
Microsoft's not using Metro UI since 2012. It was called Modern UI since then. And now they're using Microsoft Design Language 2.0.
I would argue metro is still in use today, but like you said it has a different name.
