- Kirby is a rescue axolotl that was surrendered to my local pet store 🥺. When I found him he was in super bad shape and I was unsure if he would make it through the first night.
I wanted to make sure I did everything I could to give him a second chance and the best life possible. Kirby has a long way to go. Be sure you are subscribed to the channel to follow his journey!

Ever since my gecko died a little while back, I've been really lonely. He died from multiple un-diagnosed illnesses, and for days wouldn't eat. His illness was un-treatable, and I knew he would die soon. I tried to spend the last few days I knew he had left with jut him. When I came home from doing errands a few days later, he was laying on his floor of his cage. I remember getting him for my birthday, being so excited. Two years later, he's gone. It kills me to see mistreated pets or any animal in bad shape, because it reminds me of the little ball of sunshine I lost forever. Thank you so much for taking care of this little guy. You are a great person!

I blame lack of education. Alot of people have good intentions but lack the necessary knowledge when purchasing an exotic pet.
Honestly I blame games on that once I had a pet birb and I was playing roblox I wanted to do a marathon so I
played for 4 hours and my birb had got in really bad shape but hes back into full health and I've taking better care of jim since that incident

How cold do you need the water?

Just some friendly advice: if you can, try to use a darker colored container for the cave (instead of white). Marine life, amphibs and reptiles like to hide, and in the wild they tend to do so in darker places where they won't be seen by predators. I just wanted to point it out because the brightness of a white container could give the little guy some unneeded anxiety
I thought they needed darkness because axolotls hate bright light and are sensitive to it.

@@manson0marilyn They're not naturally blind but they can become blind. Albinos have poor eyesight. Even with that condition though, it can still sense external brightness

They are very cute animals native to central Mexico but in danger of extinction.
So many people would say “he’s just a stupid reptile” I am animal obsessed and think that every animal is sweet and innocent and deserving of being treated properly. I don’t understand how someone’s twisted heart could look at that skinny, dying, struggling creature and continue to treat him terribly. Thank you for rescuing him!
And the worst part is, that they called it a reptile instead of an amphibian. Plus, what if you were that animal? Them: "Animals don't have fellings" Me: "SHUT UP THEY DO"

I'm really glad that his original owners realised that he wasn't getting the care he needed and surrendered him - I imagine that it would have been a difficult decision to make, but they did the right thing by Kirby 💞
