    Did you get a check engine light from replacing the stock cat downpipe to an aftermarket one? Thinking about getting an scorpion exhaust system and aswell change the cat downpipe to a 200 cell one by scorpion but i don't want an check engine light, thank you!

      I've got a stage 1 map from Lohen which prevents the light. Happily passed the MOT since 🙂

    Hi there, I have just bought my daughter her first car a Mini Cooper clubman R56 I noticed the sulphur smell coming from the converter, and tonight the engine light came on P111B fault code, I am hearing stories that the exhaust manifold has to be changed when replacing C converter, cheers

      I can't see why the manifold needs to be changed unless it's damaged in some way. Googling the code suggests that there might be another issue though - perhaps the code is pointing toward something that would affect the mixture?

      There's a live alternator connection that the pipe touched when you wiggled it off. Best to remove neg battery cable before working in this area

    Is it my eyes or did you not remove the old gasket but fitted the new one with it?

      Sorry - missed this comment. It was stuck tightly to the pipe I removed - you can *just* about see it but it is hard to see.

    Thanks for the vidéo! I try to find the same thing for a mini r56 1.6i 120cv natturally aspirated, cause the cat is one piece with the exhaust collector, (much more bigger than the one on copper S), and it's a nightmare to remove. Anybody has a video for that? Thanks in advance

      I'll look out for you. I've not tried one myself but you may have to pull the front end forward, the bumper etc. That isn't too bad, take lots of photos as you go so you can check them when you put it back together. Good luck!

      Oh no! Mine came off ok but I can see how some would be seized. Can you get any penetrating fluid to it?

      @@NeilBurgess LOL, I cant get the socket to it. Its tucked at the back and there's no room. Would be no problem if the radiator fan wasnt there......

    Do you or any of you viewers know the pipe diameter of that section that goes from the cat to the flexible section in terms of diameter like 3 inch?

      The short stub coming out of the flexi to the flange is 60mm. The pipe attached to the cat, going around the corner to the flange is 57mm. This is the standard S system anyway

      @@NeilBurgess I was trying to find the dimensions on the r56 1.6 non turbo to see if the hornet exhaust system i want to get will fit. It supposedly drops straight in and attaches to the flange just past that flexible joint but I just wanted to make sure it fits that’s all

    So i' ve seen instructions saying you have to move the radiator support section forward to be able to remove the cat, but you don't appear to have done this?

      No I didn't need to. The car doesn't have air con so may have more room there 🤔

      Usually something needs to be moved. Either the rad support or removing the fan. I had a bear of a time trying to do this until I removed the fan. I guess not having an AC gives a little more wiggle room.

    Hi! Is replacing an old catalyst expensive? My car needs a new one but im not sure if its worth fixing it !

      Depends what car you have and what you are looking to do. There's a selection for the second generation MINI here, but these all probably require the engine to be mapped (Lohen can confirm). www.lohen.co.uk/shop/gen-2-mini/exhausts/cooper-s-exhausts

      Hard to get proper figures. It is louder but not annoyingly so. I have no concerns about passing noise tests when I get back to a track.
