I remember when I bought this as a B Side as a 17 year old in Hartlepool and couldn't stop hearing it. It means even more now my mum has passed away as a 39 year old in Manchester....
2 Corinthians 4: 4. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5. For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. 6. For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God's glory displayed in the face of Christ. 7. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 8. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9. persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
I remember getting this as B-side too, just across the river, from Alan Fearnley in Middlesbrough. Those days feel like a dream now, but a nice one to remember and relive now and again in this song. Sorry about your mum.
props to what i think is the real version of the Verve.. full band chemistry not just a lead singer ego trip syndrome... all parts work together like cogs in a machine perfectly...brilliant!!!!!
The Verve ~Back on My feet Again~ Lyrics This is for you My angel's life has just fallen through Trusted in me But what else can I offer you but love my babe Ain't love enough Three long years Waited for you but it crossed my dirty mind There's baggage I know But this plane takes off if there's no place to go I know you know (x3) I know But I'm back on my feet again Child we're back on our feet again I guess it's time to feel the sun on our skin I guess it's time to feel the sun on our skin Wishing this would never end Wishing this would never end Wishing my life had no end Oh child we're back on our feet again There is no time for wasting moments That we have longed to share There was a day When I almost prayed That I could see you there by my side By my side Ain't love enough Lord we're back on our feet again Lord I'm back on my feet again Guess it's time to feel the sun on our skin....shine on Guess it's time to feel the sun on our skin....shine on Saying things like "It never ends" Yeah I believe that this will never end Yeah I believe that this will never end Yeah I believe that our love never ends Yes I believe that our love never ends Yes I believe that our love never ends Yes I believe our love will never end I just don't know Child shine on Let's get it on Shine on It will shine on (repeat) 'Cause love's enough (repeat)
Nothing wrong with a little "Sun on my skin". Verve is deep, blemished yet unblemished. Time and Space could not contain them. True brilliance, thank you Verve for these gems.
At perhaps the biggest crossroads in my life. Thanks Verve for being there with me. As The Who/Pete Townsend once sang/wrote Ain't it funny when they all find a pistol at the wrong end of the race.
Loved this since I bought the History single in 95. Still a solid measure of the heights this band was hitting at the time. Great message too....standing on your own two feet is a good feeling
Bruh I found this band thanks to BSSymphony, and later on they saved me from suicide, being 1/5 only reasons to live. It's not BSS's fault that people listen to only it, but the fact that people listen to the verve, it's thanks to Bitter Sweet Symphony. So it is should to be in our lives. Also I'd call "MSG" bitter sweet symphony 2, cos it has same drums rhythm that goes like: _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Thanks for reading, enjoy your living :)
@@jarg8 As a man born in 1997 I never would of heard of them without Bittersweet. Thanks to that song I went and listened to Urban Hymns, I liked it. So I figured they must of done good stuff before their third album. I listen to their debut Storm In Heaven. Star Sail.... man what a way to start a album, then into Slide Away, Already There and Beautiful Mind. The album took me to heaven, and the lyrics where the storm. Thanks to Bittersweet I found my favorite album
@@jarg8 Gonna disagree with that. It wasn't the first song I heard of theirs, but I remember seeing the video on TV when it first came out and thought it was one of the best songs I'd ever heard. I think the only reason some people hate it is because of how overplayed it is. If it was an obscure B side, these people would be singing it's praises.
It doesn’t, my friend. Our bodies might be temporary but our souls surely aren’t. Amongst other things, music like this confirms it. It must be eternity alone that can carry something beautiful like this. And you’re part of that eternity.
E de mãos dadas caminhava com voçe nas calçadas geladas do amor , as luzes brilhavam a noite voçe me olhou com teus olhos castanhos profundamente e pude ver o amor em ti ..esta musica tocava e nos levou ao sonho e eterno amor...
Is a b side of Northern soul Era. From history single. I'll never understand why Dont enter in the album because only " this is music" is superior. In the remastered version of the album was included.
Another masterpiece from the verve!
This song is amazing. It gave me chills. I love The Verve so much!

This song really resonates with 2021 we're getting back on our feet again. Thrilling
The Verve
~Back on My feet Again~ Lyrics
This is for you
My angel's life has just fallen through
Trusted in me
But what else can I offer you but love my babe
Ain't love enough
Three long years
Waited for you but it crossed my dirty mind
There's baggage I know
But this plane takes off if there's no place to go
I know you know (x3)
I know
But I'm back on my feet again
Child we're back on our feet again
I guess it's time to feel the sun on our skin
I guess it's time to feel the sun on our skin
Wishing this would never end
Wishing this would never end
Wishing my life had no end
Oh child we're back on our feet again
There is no time for wasting moments
That we have longed to share
There was a day
When I almost prayed
That I could see you there by my side
By my side
Ain't love enough
Lord we're back on our feet again
Lord I'm back on my feet again
Guess it's time to feel the sun on our skin....shine on
Guess it's time to feel the sun on our skin....shine on
Saying things like "It never ends"
Yeah I believe that this will never end
Yeah I believe that this will never end
Yeah I believe that our love never ends
Yes I believe that our love never ends
Yes I believe that our love never ends
Yes I believe our love will never end
I just don't know
Child shine on
Let's get it on
Shine on
It will shine on (repeat)
'Cause love's enough (repeat)
This song was in my head all day today. Love it!

best band "Ever".......fact
One of My fav’s.
bittersweet symphony 2
Seruji Bittersweet Symphony is a plague on this band. It should not exist and is severely overrated in comparison to the rest of their catalogue.

They're still huge. Legendary by now and that's a conservative estimate.
Wow!!!
