About the game:
Shadow Tactics is a hardcore tactical stealth game set in Japan around the Edo period.
In the year 1615, a new Shogun rises to power in Japan and strives to bring peace to the realm. In his battle against rebellion he recruits five specialists with extraordinary skills for assassination, sabotage and espionage.
Take control of a team of deadly specialists and sneak in the shadows between dozens of enemies. Choose your approach when infiltrating mighty castles, snowy mountain monasteries or hidden forest camps. Set traps, poison your opponents or completely avoid enemy contact.
Part of this team is Hayato, an agile Ninja who artfully defeats his enemies one by one from the cover of the shadows. Samurai Mugen fights with more strength. As the tank of the group, he can take on several enemies at once, at the expense of his agility. Aiko the Geisha is a master of camouflage and distraction, trapper Yuki is specialized in traps and deceptions. Takuma, being the eldest of the group, relies on his sniper skills for ranged attacks.
Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun will be released on December 6th, 2016 for PC, Mac and Linux! The PS4 and Xbox One version will follow in 2017.

Didnt know the girl could walk on the string so i struck outside of the castle for so long killed everyone out there. Came here for tips and found it thank you. I didnt pick the japanese voice over the first time cuz i hate watching subtitles, but i just realized it is better than English

On my version, there's no English subtitles for the Japanese voices, which is a huge pity. With the English language voices selected, Yuki sounds like a London highschool girl, and Mugen sounds like a westerner doing an offensive faux-Japanese accent, "Me soh sohhry". Totally ruins the immersion.

You could have hidden the guards near the official in the nearby bushes, instead of luring them so far away from the yard.

thanks for the video you made. I tried repeatedly to play at this level, finally I was able to finish the badge->Speed Run : complete the mission under 15 minutes. I completed this mission 14:08
I just got this game a few days ago and I love/hate it. I love these types of stealth games but at the same time, no matter how much I concentrate I always tend to get ahead of myself and get myself killed, don't see a guard off screen and have the alarm sounded, just stupid little things like that. But it's a good game.
Just take things slowly, if you rush you gonna fail. Pause for a few minutes and analyze the guard patrol pattern, then come up with a plan and execute it. Also there is a quick save function in case you fail.
Yeah, but yesterday in the second level I kept running at the wrong times and getting spotted by guards across the river cause I didn't pan over and look at first. Then frustration set in and it went downhill. Thank God for quicksave or else I'd be screwed. XD
Ladderthief1 you know you could hold the right click and place a marker anywhere you want to check if that point on the land is seen by anyone, right? I had the same concern, it was immediately answered. Moreover, that marker works for enemies offscreen too. It creates a dotted ray from that point to the enemy seeing it. If the enemy/enemies seeing it are offscreen, the ray just extends to the corner of the screen in their direction, which would give you a good idea of how and when to move, even when you can't see the enemies from the current screen you're in. This feature I feel was especially designed to solve your exact problem of surprise offscreen enemies catching you.

real PRO! should change play using mouse and keyboard too for this kind of game, playing with a gamepad really gave me super headache
I think gamepad is doable, I think some people said the control on the gamepad is fine.
the camera control kinda hard for me. anyway, very nice and clean play there. need to learn a lot from u :)

Thanks, I love stealth games that require thinking like this one so I spent a few hours to analyze the level before making a video.
I like to be safe, because I don't want to save. But yeah, you don't need to hide the bodies if the guards can't see it or the bodies lie in the blind zone.
I love these games (Commandos, Desperados, Robin Hood, (Chicago 1930,)...), but I feel they take me too long to complete, so your comment calmed me down a bit :D I think about how to go around some guard, then I do it, and suddenly eight minutes are gone... And to get the speedrun badge, I would have to be in half of the mission already... :D
Mine glitched and I couldn't control Mugen the entire time, wasting 2 hours figuring out how to regroup. :(
love this game. bring back old memories (commandos) im just starting this game on ps4 (so hard on ps4 you so many shortcut is missing so you can switch quickly between characters but im loving this game so far) and already beat this level.. (of course using quicksave load) so your killing civilian im trying to not kill them. next level everyone is dead haha.. wtf. didnt know you can enter and sit on caravan. the one i did is make my character run inside so my foot print is visible because of that.(left thumb is movement)

damn doing this mission without killing anyone is really hard!
When you exit the wagon, how are you able to control them both at once? I'm on Xbox so this is a bit hard as the guard from the gate can see them pretty easily
Use the mouse left click and drag to select them all, I don't know how to do that on console sorry.

This level took me over an hour to finish. Does that sound bad for someone who is unfamiliar with stealth games or is that just lack of patience?
For this game, it is best to pause for a little and check the enemy patrol route and their vision cone. From there you can formulate a plan, rushing this game will only make you frustrate.
I spent 2 hours lol. Killed most people.
Dude I took 4 hours to finish this game Lmao, but that's in multiple sessions.
Still, that's mostly because I was completely immersed in the level and wanted to approach the same enemies and kills in different ways, and I'm in love with this game because it allows for all those different ways to work so well in achieving the same goals. When I did finish the level, it was exhilarating as all hell.
What weapon is used at the time 16m 28s? And what's the hot key for that weapon?
That is not a weapon, it is an object that you can interact with. Use the Ctrl key on it to drop it on top of the Samurai.

You lure them away when you destroy the beam structure with Mugen.
