I love the Jesta- but it has so many ranged abilities (love the charging beam carbine!) and an extremely low ranged mod for its cost. I don't have a problem with generals that are more melee oriented... but the Jesta just has a single two hit beam saber. I think there are better candidates for "melee generals..."
i can see why people dont like that it has good ranged gear but bad ranged damage but from what i've seen all the ranged weapons are good for setting up melee attacks, the beam rifle stuns uncharged and fires 3 stuns charged to break through stun resists, the shield rockets (or shield grenades whichever they are) stun in 3 hits and are rapid fire and the hand grenades followed by vulcans seem to be a good close range build stagger combo so you have plenty of gear to make the openings you need to use the sword even if its only 2 hits but thats just my opinion from watching this and from fighting them
I love this suit, very agressive, very fun. It does in fact have both active guard, and manuever armor, plus it has forced injectors! Small correction, full charge does increase the damage of the individual shots, just not by a huge amount.
I understand that many won't like the jesta but with more suits and the active guard I'm honestly enjoying it, It helps stopping the melee spam of certain suits since you don't fall down
I received this and the Delta Gundam on my half off. I immediately went into a 700 cost match with it and did a decent amount of damage with only losing my MS twice, then again there wasn't a raid on the enemy team but at 700 when almost everything has beam weaponry and funnels/incoms I should not have been the problem that I was in that match. I was able to charge Shinanju and Khysatrya, as well as get away in wave rider mode multiple times. I'm of the mind that there are no bad suits only people who don't know how to use them.
@@axlejones6281 Such as? The only one that comes to mind is the High Mobility Zaku (Late Model) which, while yes it is outdated and could use about 4 more skills than it currently has, it does have a place on the battlefield. (During series battles anyway.)
Dodge roll is my "easy mode" out of a melee encounter i'm not ready to do. But yes, this suit requires a different approach than normal gens. Perfect for team play, shite if you need to carry a team, which is nearly every time with randoms.

No you were right, the Jesta can basically lob its entire grenade cache at you in no time at all (barring the actual time it takes to throw them) No other MS in the game with throwable grenades can throw them so soon after the other, there's always a cooldown between each grenade Also the Jesta's Active Guard is LV2 instead of the FA Mk II's LV1. The latter tanks up to 75% of damage, the former's tanks up to _80_.
I love the jesta. Loved it since the unicorn movies but comparing this jesta to other media and video games, this one seems lack luster and it hurts me so that it is :'(
thats an issue with maneuver armor in general, its only active during the main part of the boost not the start up or end and depending on how bad latency decides to be that small window at the start can sometimes be much longer than it should be
I only did the half-off roll on the Jesta banner because it was, well, half-off, and it gave me the Jesta twice.... Not terribly thrilled by how it has a higher melee mod than ranged when it's only melee is it's beam saber, but it has multiple ranged options. Maybe it's supposed to be the other way around with a high ranged mod and low melee but it somehow got reversed? Not sure. But it really doesn't make sense for them to neuter a new MS like that by giving it plenty of ranged options but low damage with those ranged options. I hope they swap the Jesta's melee & ranged stats in an update, as that might make it more worthwhile to use. Though it is nice that the Jesta's shoulder shield moves in front of the MS when it kneels down or goes prone.
I love both versions of the Jesta but they always struck me as mid cost suits. Don't get me wrong, they do work at 600 but at that cost there are a lot of super strong options that kinda outshine the Jesta. That being said, I've done some work with the Canon.
I have been waiting for a beam rifle similar to the Jesta's. Single shot with a charged three shot burst. By that function and the definition, the Jesta is using a beam assault rifle.
Lvl 2 Active Guard Enter a state when stuns are negated and incoming damage is reduced at the cost of smal constant consumption of boost. However, you are able to move, only at the cost of more comsumption of boost gradually and -10 walking speed Or Enter a state where stuns are negated and incoming damage is reduced st the cost of small constant consumption of boost. However, you are able to shoot with the cost of increased chance of getting stun or increased incoming damage after shooting 5 sec.
Pulled it but i havent played with it yet. I assume the lack of a dodge roll is because you can use an active guard instead. Ill probably add a lot of boost to offset the needs of active guard.
It's not a weapon that the Jesta is missing, but I've been saying for years that the Blue Destiny Unit 3 should have access to the Twin Beam Cannon. Now that the GM Dominance is in the game it really should gain access to that weapon now, since they both use the same one.
I really wanted to love this suit but it bring nothing specials to its cost bracket. Wish a Bullup option was available since that beam rifle is a crying shame.
I really don't care for this MS because the shield is way too small honestly should have been like the Thunderbolt GMs with 2 shields instead of one. Additional weapons like a Zook and a Bullpup as a secondary weapon would have helped the Jesta a lot more. I going to wait for the Jesta Cannon because it should have more weapons available vs the regular Jesta.
I wonder if the devs would add the Loto, that would be interesting Edit: oh I think there are a couple weapons that could be added to the Jesta, that said I believe it should come as the Jesta Cannon instead
had to look up what Loto is but its possible it might get added, B.B. Studios seem dead set on adding any and every UC suit to the game and theres already at least 2 other suits with tanks transformations in the game
Another good mobile suit the game declines me of but I get my ass handed to by it just like the Re-GZ sure I have the Re-GZ custom but it's not the one that Amuro piloted at least not in the movie ugh this game -_-
I dunno for the immensely popular suit that the Jesta is I felt the way they made it in this game is honestly disappointing. Ya not having a dodge roll doesn't automatically make it a bad suit but it has less survivability. Also the way some units are at the higher cost even with that active guard it's just not worth the effort imo. Plus also we are getting a much better general unit next week so no need to waste tokens on a sub par unit.

I wish you could go into active guard a lil faster. If you get 2 stacked your MA gets overwhelmed and you get stun locked to death

No you're right, the grenade throw isn't as delayed as it normally is with other mobile suits with the grenades.

I wish it was faster on boost. I've found the maneuver armor doesn't work when getting shot at the beginning of boost and you just get stunned anyway

I see that you are having problems with your tackles taking lately as well. I feel like latency is very annoying in that particular situation

Tbh, I'm really waiting for the Jesta Cannon. Assuming it'll be a Support unit, which makes it great for me since I favor support MS more

Lord that damage is anemic on its ranged options. At least its got feasible physical and beam damage weapons but its still just so...meh.
