Savo Island Volcano Solomon Islands

This little island off the coast of Guadalcanal is a quiet oasis not too far from the capital Honiara. To historians, the name Savo is a reminder of great violence and death during World War 2.Now those days are but a distant memory, however Savo Island is still experiencing violence, in the form of a volcano. The Boat ride across combined with the trek to the crater is simply amazing and a must add to your bucket list.

that sea is literally graveyard for all those brave US & Japanese sailors during battle of Savo island 1942, hence the sea near Savo given the name Ironbottom Sound because of the dozens of ships and planes that sank there during the naval battle

Hi guys!!
Soon I will go to the island of Solomon for 4 days and we will land in Munda and we will have to take the next fly its in Honiara, our idea is to travel to different places approaching Honiara
Someone can share information about things to do, what places to visit, I need the ferries (timetable) only I found price and where to sleep.

Savo has no mosquito's therefore, no malaria.
