    Travis I am fixing to build some stands and I notice most people if not all use deck screws for the butt joints . Have you ever considered using pocket holes for the butt joints and if so would it be stronger or not , Thanks

    Solid. Now how do you get it through the door?

    • @TrafishAquatics
      @TrafishAquatics  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Flip it on its front, most doors are 30-32" and this was 27" tall

    I plan on building one using your approach. Thanks! Do you check to see if everything is level? Did not see you do that here or in the previous build. (are you just assuming it's level based on your cuts, or not too concerned about it?)

    • @TrafishAquatics
      @TrafishAquatics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually did put a level on it in this video, it's in part of the time lapse. Theoretically if the boards are straight and your cuts are true then you shouldn't even have to worry about it, But I normally put a level on it anyway Just to make sure.

    Hey Travis, can the stand be bigger then the tank? I'm building a stand for a lady that has a 36 x 18 tank and the stand is 40 x 23. I'm using your plans. (thanks by the way) So all the corners have the two extra board supports added to the legs. What are your thoughts on this? Thank you, Vicki

    I can use your help I have a 210 gallon fish aquarium and stand & what I want to do is make my stand stronger by adding and cutting some 2x4 to make it stronger simply because I don't trust the manufacturer stand for the total weight of 3400 pounds once its filled with water. . .

    300 gallons and only using 2x4. SMFH. That is a no no. 2x6 for that size tank not 2x4
