Here's a hack for next time, but if you heat the places that you want to remove things connected with silicone with a hair dryer or a heat gun, it makes it whole lot easier to do.
Personally, would think that after drying, it would be good to add on another strong adhesive of some sort. it may make it a bit uglier, but it will hopefully give the encloser more strength at the door.
Not sure if you'll read this but you've somewhat helped me get over my fear of spiders. Like now I'm a bit better as long as they don't crawl towards me then I'm gonna get a bit nervous and scared. But as I said as long as they don't get near me I'm actually good with them.
Me too. I've always wanted to hold a tarantula but I'm afraid that if I do , my arachnophobia will kick in and I'll throw it or something.

A tip for working with silicon: when smoothing it out - wet your finger before rubbing it. Spit works surprisingly well. Also a silicon gun with a nozzle cut to the width you wish to gap will be a lot easier and give you greater control (cut the nozzle on an angle)

If you heat up a bit the silicone...it would have been much easier..... but not in the magnet... magnets with heat demagnetize..

There is a lot of things I’ve done DIY with my dad, so it does help sometimes to try it. Literally learned how to make a canvas board at my own school that I didn’t even know was possible.
The silicon on the hinges is why it gave out brother , it's not meant to glue things together , love the channel btw

I was wondering if you put extra silicone on the outside of the hinges. Just cover the holes and around the outside edge of the hinges. Your hinges always seem to be the weak spot. I don’t know if you can find an extra strength glue (like gorilla glue) that doesn’t give off an odor and use that just over the holes and around the edges of the hinges.
I’m surprised the blade didn’t snap as that always happens to me with those knifes

next time after applying silicone put a little wash up liquid on finger then run it across to smooth it out, but i think you did a good job
My curly hair tarantula passed away today :( I'm so devastated..Ik the cause is starvation but I tried to feed her...I even researched everything that could be wrong...but all the boxes are ticked because she already had everything she needed. I owned a few tarantulas in the past and some are still alive rn...idk what happened to her or what I did wrong...today has not been a great day at all :(
tipp for next time, the smoothening is easier if u wear a glove and make your gloved finger a little wet
Couldn't you have just used a single edge razor to cut the excess silicone once it dried to make it smoother rather than your finger when it was wet?
