A very attractive Ford Scorpio Ultima 2.9 EFi V6 with just 27,379 miles.
    EQUIPMENT
Body coloured bumpers, airbag, halogen polyellipsoidal headlamps, front driving lamps, tinted glass, perimeter alarm and Safeguard immobiliser, Quickclear heated front screen, heated/electrically adjustable door mirrors, heated washer jets, electric tilt/slide glass sunroof, electrically windows all round, Global operation of windows and sunroof, central locking, electric memory and heated front seats, air-conditioning with climate control, cruise control, fuel computer, graphic information module, Model 7000 RDS Stereo, CD Autochanger Model 2060, remote stereo controls. Factory options; Metallic paint.
    EXTERIOR
The second-generation Ford Scorpio, first shown at the 1994 Paris Motor Show, took the motoring world by surprise thanks to its remarkable looks. Unique to the Scorpio, this garaged example is finished in stunning Loden Green Metallic, (Code 3 5), which boasts a superb uniform finish and polished shine to the factory paint. All original panels are beautifully preserved with no dings and there only very light blemishes and scratches visible upon close inspection. All chrome trim, bumpers and badges are in excellent order with just a very light rub to each rear bumper corner. Factory etched tinted glass and original light fittings remain and the underside is structurally perfect with PDI markings visible and a pleasing absence of excess applied underseal. Unique, beautiful and wonderfully preserved, despite what the meanies in the motoring press said about it when it was launched!
    INTERIOR
This top specification Ultima model boasts an array of standard equipment that would put many of todays cars to shame, let alone in 1994 when the car was launched. The full Raven Leather, (Code SB), is immensely comfortable and in perfect condition with no visible wear whatsoever. The list of driver aids are endless and all are fully functioning including the ice cold air conditioning, cruise control, heated seats and electric driver’s seat adjustment with memory settings. The dashboard, burr walnut effect fascia, door cards and trim are as new, and the carpets and headlining are pristine. The auto dimming rear view mirror glass has tarnished. Imagine travelling an air-conditioned, ruched leather armchair comfort with every possible driver convenience at your fingertips, with this Scorpio you need not imagine!
    ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The preferred combination of silky smooth power and relaxed cruising is Ford’s 2.9EFi V6 engine developing 150bhp at 5500rpm and 233Nm torque at just 3000rpm. A top speed of 124mph and 0-60mph in 10.5 seconds is more than adequate for this large executive machine. The engine bay is very clean with factory stickers, panel stamps and plates fully intact. The 5-speed automatic transmission performs perfectly for the effortless cruising this car was designed for.
    WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The 6X15 ‘Tear Drop’ alloy wheels are in excellent order with only very light scratches. Matching branded Falken ZE310195/60 R15 tyres were fitted brand new all-round in July 2019. This executive express stops as well as it goes with the electronically controlled ABS braking system featuring discs all round, ventilated to the front.
    HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 23rd October 1995, the supplying Ford Main Dealer was Daron Ford of Hayling Island. This top specification Scorpio Ultima has covered just 27,379 miles from new with just three former keepers in total. The first owner being The Ford Motor Company before being purchased by the second, long term owner, Mr Graham Wilsher, who kept the car for 22 years. The original leather Ford zip wallet houses all vehicle handbooks, guides and dealership literature as well as the original stamped service book with eleven entries, eight of which were the supplying main dealer, Daron Ford. Completing the history file is an original Ford Scorpio range brochure. An almost forgotten chapter in modern Ford history, this exceptional plush, capable and controversially shaped Scorpio is without question one of the best preserved examples in existence and will always be the talking point on every journey!

The Ford Scorpio design had a touch of American about it at the time, and I say this as a compliment. Many people make derogatory comments about this car, but I seriously believe it’s a modern classic. This cars condition looks amazing, obviously well looked after and probably always garaged kept. The position of the radio antenna on the roof would make it not wise to take this car through a auto car wash, this means hand wash every time, so little chance of scratching the paint work. All in all a very good car for the money.

If I had the money I’d buy this in a heart beat, I love 1990s Ford’s and this has to be the ultimate one, perhaps even better if it was the cosworth engine but I’d be perfectly happy with the standard V6. I’m currently driving a 1998 Mondeo Ghia X 2.5 V6, it’s an awesome car too.

Andrew Marsden As an after sales manager at the time I went to the Ford dealer launch in Spain as I remember and the Ford Europe marketing director said and I quote 'If the car is good enough people won't worry about what it looks like' unfortunately what they didn't understand was that if people don't like the way it looks they will never find out how good it is because they won't even take a test drive. It's a shame really because it was a really nice car to drive, I had a 2.9 for a couple of months after launch as my demonstrator.

The Rover SD1 was, and arguably still is s beautiful design, because its proportions were bang on! Just a shame the BL build quality was patchy.
But with this Scorpio, the opposite is true. Good build quality but an ugly design, with questionable proportions.

    But today s car styling
Has become mutch more permissive and extravagant,
And it seems to me that the scorpio design has gained some points....
It is very comfortable on long journeys
Quite and those seats are some of the best.
It is heavy and the cosworth drinks a little but hey,
In the end i appreciate this car.(who gives a damn what i like tho)
