    Thanks dude, really inspiring! Thing I love about Freddie is it sounds like he's often doing very little but what he does guides the ear away from the usual patterns into something kinda jazzy bluesy gritty heaven if you'll excuse the paradoxical metaphors, but that's Freddie in a nutshell for me. I think you've nailed a few aspects of his playing here that are really helpful to a fumbling blues player like me who finds it really difficult to slow it down enough in my head and my fingers to work out what's really going on and take something transferable from it. Very grateful. more!

    If you study and read about Eric Clapton , you will see that Eric was a Freddie King disciple and you can really hear the influence in his playing. Eric is very generous in his praise of Freddie King. In any case , you can't go wrong if you want to build a firm foundation as a blues player to study Freddies playing and technigue.

    Hey mate, I love Freddie King and I really appreciate you taking the time to break this down and tab it out. I did notice that on the tab, Lick #4 is written in the C# box but here you're playing it in the C box. Just thought I'd throw that out there!

      The way Freddy played…he would just bend the adjust for the difference in keys. Dude was a monster

    Okay the song he's talking about for lick #5 is on youtube as part of an album, a really good double album called Freddy King-Texas Oil 1956-1962 Recordings. If you search that it will come up and then you'll have to navigate to the song--Or listen to the whole thing! The full title of the song is It's Too Bad (Things Are Going So Tough). It's also available on YT as a single, just search the song title. But the album is well worth checking out.

    Very nice lesson Maestro. Those Texas guys stick together. I hear so much T Bone Walker in Freddie Kings playing.

    Quite an amp hum over your voice, grounding issue maybe. Still always great lessons, thanks.

    • @OldSchoolBluesGuitar
      @OldSchoolBluesGuitar  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes. I didn't realize how noticeable it was until I edited. I'll make sure it doesn't happen again. I used a new cable and I had the amp turned up louder - trying to get closer to the Freddy King tone. I'll figure it out and re-record ASAP. Sorry.
