      Speed. Lack of anticipation to the bump. Maybe a slightly bouncy tire. I've hit worse on Xiaomi M365 but the scoot is limited to like 18MPH and I had bent the knees preparing for it. He just got caught out at higher speed. Could happen to anyone. Going slower gives you more time though.

      Yeah it’s Road surfaces that catch people out,their handling has more in common with a motorcycle than a bicycle really. Unless you have some motorcycle exp and your already used to scanning the road surface and know what’s sketchy chances are they will fall off at some point. Watching this and seeing him braking heavily on the painted lines on a damp surface was giving me anxiety for example lol

    Bumps, potholes, elevated path bricks are absolute nightmare and trap for small wheels, specially when you are not ready and ride relaxed. My first crash resulted in broken arm and elbow and torn abdomen tissue, and I crashed only at around 25+ kph, I did not skid, but instantly was slammed to the ground. I was wearing elbow/knee protection and thankfully full face helmet. It is scary to think what can happen if you crash at way higher speed or crash into some obstacle at that speed. Stay safe.

  • @MasterBlakeYT
    @MasterBlakeYT 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I hope your recovery was well! But I had a crash like this once, i was going around 24 mph and there was a bump in the road. I started to swerve a little until I realized I couldn’t save it. So I crashed over the curb into someone’s lawn. My helmet tore up a little grass, but I’ll glad I landed in the grass. Because not a single scratch on me, but my arm hurt. Turns out I had a tiny break
    So I know how scary this can be, and I know I’m a little late, but I hope your recovery was well, and I hope this never happens again to you, or anyone reading this right now. Be safe, be careful.

    I recently rode my Varla Eagel One (which I purchased due to your review and update on the scooter) on my way to work going ~31 mph. The corner of my right handlebar hit an electrical unit box on the side of the rode; and I braced the crash with my hands. To make it worse, I got up and kept riding- then I crashed again due to an embedded crash on the rode. I did not realize it then; but my wrists were two different sizes- I went to the doctors to find I fractured my left wrist. Pro-tip: don't go 31 mph on a side walk!

    • @Roni-Kwang

      It probably would have happened on pretty much any scooter. If he saw the bump he could have assumed a lower stance and made it over. It's the fact he didn't see it and was just cruising along that he flipped forward.

    • @captaincaveman8532
      @captaincaveman8532 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most important part of riding is posture. If you bend your knees and shift center of gravity to the rear, it's unlikely this will happen. Most people don't ride like that when they are cruising because it becomes uncomfortable.

    That slide wasnt as bad as i thought. You've been lucky then if that were your worst crash. I crashed on a trail down hill anf got an under steering due to my tire slipped on the gravel at about 20 mph. I went just outside the trail and hit a stone that sent me flying through the air and rolled 3 times before i were able to stop. Banged up my hip, knee and hand. Luckily i didnt break any bones even though i swore i had. Could have been prevented if i didnt decide to be a daredevil that day. Got a lot more respect for the scooter now. They're not really meant for high speeds even though they can go really fast. Stay safe.

    I shattered my wrist on the second day of owning my hiboy scooter. they are so unstable. just hit a weird spot in the pavement and went down but instead of rolling into it I put my hand out . 2 months later I am mostly recovered but had to have surgery and get a plate put in, cost me a lot of money. like 16,000 dollars actually.... definitely wear wrist and head protection!! the hiboy ks4 pro supposedly has rear suspension but it doesnt seem effective so it is just a totally unstable ride! I love the thing but wish it had steering dampener and suspension of some sort. I was going 19 or 20 at the time which is its top speed so even that is enough to be seriously injured. I al already riding again but with a new found respect for the scooter.

    You didn't faceplant, but good to see you have a full-face dirt bike helmet on coz if you had it would've be a lot more gnarly, with broken teeth and face rashif not worse. Seriously frustrates me seeing redditers tell people they don't need a full-face helmet for E-Scooters and E-Bikes. The amount of faceplants with Scooters increases a lot due to the small wheel size. With the wheel being so small it can tip over a lot easier and you go face first smacking the ground. At least on E-Bikes if you do flip forward you're more likely to fall on the top of your head where it's protected (assuming helmet is on properly) because of the much larger wheel forcing the bike to flip with a wider arc, and that's only if you're unlucky and the bike doesn't also tip side ways during the roll and you to fall on your side and hit the side of your head instead.

    I highly doubt the bump caused that incident dude, I have hit worse at same speed on an electric scooter without coming of (UK Roads :P) I did notice however that their was gravel from where you initially came of and judging by how the bike slid out on you also backs up that theory, as a motorcyclist I look ahead to spot such things like gravel due to the nature of the danger it brings and look to avoid it or slow down slow enough to where you have the control to go over it (but don't steer or brake while going over as that can cause you to come of also)

    I have a gotrax v2 and I’ve hit a bump like this before, luckily I saw it coming so I could hold the scooter steady when it hit the bump. didn’t fall, still scary shit, wear a helmet everyone😂👌

    I hit a massive pothole going 20mph. Couldn’t see it because it was so dark outside. Sent me flying and got hurt really bad. I was lucky considering I wasn’t wearing ANY protective gear. Bought full protective gear to say the least, don’t care if I look goofy

    Dude. Know how you feel.
    Got bounced a couple weeks ago and Ouch.
    Thankfully I'm ok and my scooter got only a couple light scrapes
    Good thing I was going very slow at the time
    Take care, be safe & have fun

    DAMN!! Can't believe that little feature tripped you up like that! I was thinking about trying one of these scooters out, but after seeing this. No thanks! They always looked a bit twitchy to me but I guess it goes beyond looks. What size wheels do you have?

    Hey,
    Strangely you would have probably got over that if you where riding a Taur eScooter, if they actually exist that is, have been emailing them to place and order for 2000 units for ages now and yet no reply via email, you would think that this would be a good order for them or at least they would have the courtesy to eMail saying they actually don't want to do business with us.
    Hope your all healed now,
    Best wishes Ash

    This almost happened to me a couple nights ago on a bike path with my kqi2 it was really sudden when you don’t see something to expect it and you take it head on the worst way basically but got to give it to the scooter it plowed through that pothole it was a little bigger than my tire size too because I weant back to check wth that was I thought it may have been something I really didn’t want to ride over like animal or broken concrete etc but my first thought was right a hole. Also it helped i wasn’t going like thirty but 17 isn’t crawling either on one of these it feels slow after going fast but it’s not that slow you know. I’m so used to my fat tire bike and running everything over at 30mph so that was a much different ride.

    Man holes can be even trickier, i skid on one when dry, caught it luckily, but i wasn't so lucky when wet :) Some idiot aslo decided that polished stone is a good material for blind people guides. Needless to say it's very slippery when wet, almost crashed into a house because of that ...

    as a kid I was riding my razor scooter and the entire thing flipped over a small pebble which caused me to break my wrist bones and wear a cast for 3 months

    Shocking how little it took to have you off. Imagine how it would cope with potholed city streets. Are there any manufacturers making them with say....12 inch wheels?

    I think your goggles shades was too dark man. I never wear those colored goggles, I can't see shit with them. Always the clear ones.

    The fact that the bump is barely visible is terrifying.
    So a small but sharp diagonal bump caused some airborne and when slamming back down the front wheel was canted

    I did the same thing but luckily landed in wet grass. But I cracked a rib. I feel you on not being able to lift your right arm. My scooter has all the important stuff on the left side so nothing broke but a reflector on my crash.

    Well it is an accident I have went over the handlebars whist turning to much but we all learn to be more aware and safe to prevent these types of accidents as a matter of fact that has happen to me but if you really think you could fall off you scooter from one hesitation or anytime you ride one you have the risk but it’s not like you have hurt yourself badly whilst falling of a bike as many time on a scooter or falling over you know we have just got to live with this and it is only a small dip in the road so nobody can blame you for it.
