I had a kidney transplant almost five years ago and I can relate to Kieron. I’m delighted he’s doing well and hope it very much continues. Much love Kieron.
After a triple heart bypass only 10.weeks ago I can fully relate to his journey. I burst into tears at several points during the interview. The worry you will die, the pain post operation, the emotional challenge post operation all stuck a chord with me. Stay strong Kieron. You're doing amazingly well. All the very best.

What a great story. We love our NHS despite all the negative stories we hear . Kieron is living testament to power of health and how we all take for granted . Only 12 weeks ago he was 9 hour's in a complicated surgical procedure . Very humbling to listen to his story of redemption.
I am seriously ill at the moment, and on a waiting list for an operation. This interview has been very useful. I feel a lot more positive. Thank you Kieran.

I’m an Ipswich fan and season ticket holder I am myself currently on the transplant list at Addenbrookes under the same fantastic team with psc.
I was so pleased when Kieron raised awareness of pse, I watched his interview with Ipswich’s statman it was like listening to myself.
He was so open and talked so well of his illness.
KD and myself have had pse around the same length of time, he has become my inspiration and has given me so much strength I’m hoping to bump into him one day and shake his hand at Portman Road.
I’m currently at the stage when KD went in to Addenbrookes, last night I was rushed into the Norfolk and Norwich and missed today’s Derby against Norwich.
I’m now having to put my health over my beloved Ipswich.

I also have this condition PSC. It is the first time I have heard it discussed on any media platform. Thanks Kieron for telling your story. At the moment I am relatively well except for the terrible itching. Thanks to talksport for a sensitive and factual interview

I also had PSC, I am now 20 months post transplant & back working full time.
It's not an easy journey for all the family, but there is hope because of our selfless donors ❤...

I've just been given the all clear of cancer 6 days ago, and I'm the same age as Kieron. But what he's been through and how he's pulled through it, is an inspiration. Amazing! Stay strong Kieron 💪👏

Yeman iv been in a similar situation and I have seen many young people go Yellow with liver damage, not by their own doing in many cases. It's sad man but this is a success story not a horror one. Keep going Kieron mate ur here for a reason 👍

My brother is in Chesterfield Royal hospital atm he is too ill for a transplant his bodies been ravaged by illness. So pleased to see Kieron looking so well. Hope you achieve all you want in life.
I wish I could shake his hand and give him a hug, absolute thunderbolt news to be told u need a new liver and then the hunt starts for finding one. I was always frustrated with him as a player cos he looked a very able international but it just wasn't working and now we know why. Bless you mate and the family of the donor - Dan ( Everton )

I used to have a running battle with Kieran years ago when he lived in Newcastle city centre , he used to park in a space that belonged to the company I worked for . He had his own space but had a Mercedes Maybach and it would not fit in the space allotted to him . My boss was constantly telling me to clamp his car but I never did because I'm Newcastle daft . There was plenty of tales up here about his excessive ways , too much to go into but I feel that it did not help his condition . It looks like he's seen the error of his ways and I wish him a happy life from now on in .

As a young Newcastle fan in the early 2000s, Dyer and Robert were my favourite players surprisingly 😂. If not for his medical situation which led to injuries after injuries, he'd have been an absolutely amazing footballer. 33 England caps while half fit is really am incredible achievement.

I wish him all the best health and life wise, but as a player he was frustrating and never lived up to his potential. I'm not being mean, just real.
Being opened up is always difficult. Quite simply surgeons and the NHS as a whole are incredible.
I had a second rectal cancer operation in 2011, it lasted 12 hours to remove everything, one of the most dangerous ops they do. I remember saying goodbye to my Wife just before they took me into theatre, it was a strange feeling. I always say it's those waiting who suffer the most, I was out of it, strange feeling when I woke up, I had tubes coming out everywhere, including four out of my new rear end. Best thing is to stay positive, and live life to the full.
That's a tough listen, but a beautiful story. Delighted Kieron is healthy again and has a newfound zest for life.

I went through the exact same .
Same procedure
Same life
My wife and family were broken.
I had a few false alarms .
That was mentally tough .
However let's think about the morning or night when we woke from intensive care after surgery .
The pain is so bad
But I had a tube in me which I didn't know was there
And shouted to the nurses.
That I was in pain
They told me to press the button I had near me which I didn't realise was there
So I did
And within 3 mins I was whistling happy tunes and pain free lol

When dyer used to turn up to westbourne we hated him, when he turned up at yates and the bars in Ipswich he was hated. How he has changed the hate to love is incredible! Guy used to hand over wods of cash at the bar to beat the que, so you get the reasons why we hated him and his entourage que jumping 😂.

Waiting for a new liver (autoimmune hepatitis as well!!) myself but they’re keeping me going with medication as reckon q new one will only last 30 years tops. Pretty inspiring to see how well he’s come through it.

The person whos liver saved my life and been a man of considerable means I’d have to find out if they had dependents . And then add them to my will with a personal letter thanking them and said deceased parent xx❤️

After seeing this interview I find it incredible how the 'newspapers' have personified Kieron Dyer when compared to the very human being I just witnessed.

Sometimes it feels like Jim can't wait for people to break down and cry when he interviews them. Looks like he cares but there is something about him that says different.
