Cheap, but if you're unlucky, it might become faulty and there’s no warranty. This happened to my friend who bought it just a month ago. If you dont mind about warranty (since 'some' say its cheap) then mvave is okay
I have a Zoom G1X Four ..Do you think I can still run it with the Tank so I can use the expression pedal on the Zoom? Im waiting on one I ordered..I had wondered and saw your comment..Thanks
The Tank G already does. No reason both can't. Plus with the connectivity of the chocolate it gives you options to have 4 extra footswitches and not sure if they can be banked like the Tank G is currently. Plenty of options coming I think.

Thanks for the video, it is useful, but it does not answer one question. Do these devices (tank-g and blackbox) have a selectable output mode (e.g. connected to a guitar amp or a line speaker)? I don't see that there is such a choice. My NUX MG-400 multieffects offer a number of options (amp stack rear, front/studio (line), but also the BOSS multieffects have them (amp/line). If you can't select the output you want to play, how can the tank-g and blackbox get the right sound when connected to guitar amp or line?
Hey mate! This is a good question! First of all, all outputs "output" exactly the same thing, which means that if you will plug balanced out and P10 out, they will have the same output. So to plug into a monitoring amp, you will need to manually turn off the IR section, which means that the Balanced output also will be without IR. For this reason, some people prefer to have the IR loader externally and use it as a DI out. In case of additional questions, let me know! Cheers! 🎛️🔥
Hi, Nice demos and explanations. Thanks for sharing them. A couple of questions, if you don't mind. Can the Black Box be used to capture tones in the same way as the Tank-G? Using the same PC software? Can you capture FX pedals? (Like my Boss Dimension D) Thanks in advance.
Hey Andrew! The Blackbox works with the same captures as the Tank G, so yes... all the same! You can use the Synco Ann for that! Regarding FX pedals, unfortunately no. One thing I never tried was to capture the tone already with the modulation applied... it could be interesting to try... but as I am a MacOS User, making my own captures is really hard! I hope it helps! Cheers mate! 🎛️🔥
Both work fine for this purpose mate, but the Tank G has balanced XLR output!! BUT... Blackbox works better in terms of fitting with other pedals on a pedalboard. To use it as stand alone, TANK G! 🎛️🔥
If you have amps and cabs to capture then they are useful. If not you better off saving a little more for a nux mg300 or other mfx modelers in the same price point IMO.
Thanks a lot for sharing mate! You are right! There is also the possibility to get packs of captures, but honestly M-VAVE still did not organize an official place to share tone captures, like the Tonex Tone Net for example! Cheers mate! 🎛🔥
Both runs the same captures mate! In terms of capturing, you don't use them. You need an external audio interface for that. Anyway, the Blackbox has many more slots for capture load! I hope it helps you! Cheers! 🎛️🔥
Salve Daniele, it really depends on how much you depend on Modulation and Ambiences, but simplifying a lot: Tank G is easier to change presets and has XLR out... so it tends to be better on a live situation. Anyhow... if you wish better mod and ambiences, now the Blackbox has already compatibility with the Chocolate Midi controller, which can expand the amount of footswitches, working just like the Tank G! Cheers mate! 🎛️🔥
m-vave amp emulations are always a little thin. I have the little cubebaby and can only get few decent sounding tones from it (but it's nice for simple ir loading). I'm currently thinking about getting nux amp academy but then suddenly these two things appeared on my recommendation 😂
You can exchange the Tone Captures on those two, so it is a different technology compared to the Amp Academy, but if Captures are your thing, those are the most affordable solutions in the market! Cheers mate!
Could you really not connect pedals to the Tank G? I have a looper pedal and an eq i wanna still use, and I've heard stories of people plugging pedals for the tank g and apparently bricking their units by doing so, are there any Legitimacy to these claims?
Since the latest firmware update (08.07.24) it is compatible! Not for Tap Tempo setting, but still for Scenes Changing, Signal Chain Slots engaging and disengaging and of course presets change! Cheers mate! 🎛🔥
@@johnhowellseroje4995 not the same. But you can find online the same preamps and IRs that some good mates collected and prepared as ann captures and IRs!
It depends on your usage! In a nutshell: to use as stand alone pedal, the Tank G is better, but it is more limited (less effects, less preamp and IR slots and fixed signal chain). If you intend to use it as part of a bigger pedalboard, the Blackbox is the best option to you, but you may need to add some extra footswitches with a midi controller (m-vave chocolate is a budget alternative). I hope it helps! Cheers mate! 🎛️🔥

One vital part of info was untold: there is very noticeable delay when switching presets in Tank G. So it’s not so ok for live applications.

It's only a matter of time until they release a BlackBox with the ability to create captures like the Nano Cortex, all for about $100!
The Tank G already does. No reason both can't. Plus with the connectivity of the chocolate it gives you options to have 4 extra footswitches and not sure if they can be banked like the Tank G is currently. Plenty of options coming I think.

100% correct! Unfortunately! :( but a ABY box can solve it! :)

Does the Tank-G have Tap Tempo delay?
No mate! Only Blackbox has tap tempo for Delay and Modulations!
Ok thanks

both are HOTONE CHIPS ? apparently ?
How does the Blackbox Interact with another drive pedals?
It works pretty good! I will release the next video showing the captures and how it sounds with external pedals!! Cheers Leo! 🎛🔥
Can you use external pedals with the blackbox?
It doesn't have a loop, but enables you to choose only the part of the signal chain which works best to you! 🎛️🔥
I think I'll switch to blackbox, im just a bedroom player anyway hahaha so the two footswitches will not bother me
