Wow. Kurt was the only one who showed kindness and a level-head about Michael in this interview. He understood the hell of the business, and how lies are so easily spread by media. God bless him. I hope he's at peace now.

Gee, really - I'm not famous, but it's obvious what it would be like.
Kurt said:"if I could've predicted what was gonna happen to me a few years ago, I definately wouldn't have opted for this kind of lifestyle" - strikes me as odd. He wanted to be rich and famous - and when he became rich and famous, he bitched and complained.
Robyn Hope i see wht youre saying, but i dont think anyone really finds out what its like (what you gain and lose in the process) until you get there. the world can be really cruel and unfair. im not going to judge him if he bitched and complained about anything, since im not famous either and cant put myself in his shoes. he went through a lot of pain that was both self-inflicted and thrown at him. yet i think he really did have a good soul, as is shown in moments like these.
Robyn Hope This is an old comment, but, Kurt wanted the fame and wealth, he just felt so terrible for wanting it in the first place, leading to his statement of him not wanting the lifestyle.

For anybody who says that Pat was only there as a touring member: Lory Goldstein was a touring member to play cello but Pat is actually there doing this interview. In general touring members let the band talk and stay out of the limelight, the fact that Pat is not only there but also IN the limelight shows that he was a full fledged member of the band here.
krist is unheard and underrated, it was just krist and kurt when nirvana started.

Clearly, you've never been in a relationship. Because you can go from loving someone to absolutely despising them in less than a year. And Kurt had told people (including his lawyer) that he was divorcing Courtney. She had cheated on him with Evan Dando, Trent Reznor, and Billy Corgan over the years. And that's aside from her totally abusive personality. There's a police report available online where Kurt told the cops he had locked himself in the bathroom with a gun to protect himself from her.

It's hard to see bands like this anymore. A band where the members are like a real family, and not just goofin around for money. They seemed to really care for each other.

She didn't try to force him into rehab, she did force him. He escaped from the rehab facility a few days before his death.

Michael Azerrad wrote that the last time he spoke to Kurt they had an argument about the book 'Come as you are'. Azerrad felt very bad about it after Kurt had died but then he found out that almost everyone has had some kind of fall-out with Kurt in the weeks leading up to his death. Not just the band and Courtney. Dave has confirmed that Nirvana had decided to break up. His life was just scattering at that time, i think that's what brought him so far.

Loder responds by saying, "Oh gee, I hope not" knowing that Darby killed himself.
So weird for Smear to almost predict the future without knowing he's actually doing so.

Pat Smear, he's a legendary punk guitarist who played for the Germs. And he was Nirvana's extra touring guitarist on their In Utero tour. Later on he was in the Foo Fighters for a few years.

Several moments in this interview are somewhat ironic or to say the least sad. At 5:52 when Kurt goes to the bathroom and Krist begins joking about suicide.
Also later at 6:56 when they ask Pat about The Germs, and Kurt says "You mean your calling me Darby?" And Kurt Loder says "Oh, Gee I hope not. I hope that's not true..". And sadly it was.
i like how kurt respected mj's privacy and didnt want to comment about it at first..... to me that seems hes not a judgmental person... and a humble human being

Truthfully i am 6'2 about 200 lbs. I've been playing guitar half my life (15yrs). That was the most mature comment i think anyone has ever made on youtube and you're only what 16 or so? Most people talk all this shit cuz they know they'll never have to face anyone. I give u lots of respect for ur humility. Your initial comment just seemed a bit sarcastic. Strange interview.
Those Converse shoes Kurt was wearing in this interview were the same shoes Kurt was wearing when they found his body in the green house above the garage on that cold rainy day on April 8th 1994. Man it just brings a death grip on my soul watching this interview. Kurt had not only the entire band in his hands,but he had an entire generation in his hands as well. When Kurt died we all had a part of us die that day. We miss Kurt a lot,but we love his music each and every day!!
At 6:45 Pat is asked what it's like playing with Nirvana compaired to his old band. Pat said, "it's kind of the same" and "sees alot of the same problems", I find that so ironic. For those who don't know Pat's past band was the L.A. Punk band The Germs. In which the Lead singers name was Darby Crash and he to committed suicide.

Krist seems like a cool guy but he's constantly the one who has to talk. I know Kurt wasn't much of a talker but it seems like Krist would get drunk during interviews and just yap lol. You can tell Loder just wants to get Kurt's perspective on things but Krist keeps talking
Loder is such a good interviewer. It's really cool to just see/hear a band sit down and shoot the shit instead of "yeah the tour is ___ and the record is ____ blahblahblah". Great videos. (:

I wish Pat was more involved. I never payed attention to him many years ago when i listened to nirvana, but now i respect him the most.
Watch, "The Decline of Western Civilization," a punk documentary, and you'll see pat playing some REAL punk music, stoned out of his mind with a huge grin on his face in every scene while he's playing these crazy unconventional riffs.

Pat Smear. He joined Nirvana for the In Utero tour. He also played guitar in the Foo Fighters until just after their second album was released.
Pat Smear, touring guitarist for Nirvana, and was in the Foo Fighters. And soo soo camp.
Pat was brought in for the In Utero tour as a second guitarist because many of the tracks on In Utero needed it.

@mecca421 Dude i am so sorry for not responding right away, i just got back from Charlotte NC. I am greatly encouraged by your comment. TOOL is really hands down the best live band to see, not an opinion, said so by their fellow peers. Each album is completely different because they hate to repeat themselves, as any true artist would understand. You can go in order but their first album was put out at the start of the 90's which was extremely testosterone driven, almost cocaine fueled. Cont-

Actually, to KRIST'S right is Dave Grohl, former drummer for the rock band 'Nirvana' and current frontman for the band 'Foo Fighters'. He has also been a contributing member of several other groups as well!

Yeah i gotta give respect to Kurt for that. The guy with the fedora hat was making fun when he shouldn't have. Kurt didn't laugh or make a joke out of it cuz he knew this wasn't no joking matter. I liked how Kurt stuck up for him here. I don't know if he was a fan of MJ. But he sure knew that sticking up for him and sympathizing with him was the right thing. I like Kurt more now.
