A sniper actually makes a great idea for a Jagen unit. Way better than just giving a starter player one of the best types of classes in the game then blaming them if they rely on that too much. They draw aggro very well due to not being able to fight on enemy phase and can tank a hit or 2 early game easily, they won't "kill steal" though if someone is slow to get it and trying to rely on them too much.
generals could make good jagans, they make sense from a lore stand point and can be a wall to protect weaker units and feed kills to others. Good in early chapters where the maps are smaller but fall off once the maps get bigger.

For the Record, at 20/1, Mekkah's hector has: Average HP, +2 Str, Average Skill, +1 Speed, +1 Luck, -4 Defense (Ouch), and PLUS 6 RES Edit: He also has more Res than Defense
One thing I've always found strange about Fe7 is that marcus and Isadora make a lot of sense when swapped. Isadora has more of a jagen vibe to her (barely doesn't kill things) and She's quite good if she is in the beginning.
I just recently started a file on FE7 where I did Lyn mode and favored Erk super hard, then went on to HHM. It was very fun to see green Erk destroy like 20 units. I have +15% enemy growths though so Erik still kills him sadly.

race idea: how about a 4 way race where you can you use any unit, but you can win if you win the link battle tournament at the end with all your best units. Athos cant be used because he died. Everyone gets points, 1st to finish gets 4 points, last gets 1 point. 1st in tournament gets 3 points and any tiebreaks have to be resolved with your B-Team (units that arent your best). Boost growths by 15-25% for fun. How well can you train your units? How well can you collect the best weapons?
ah erk, the most overlooked mage in fe7 by far imo weird how he joins so much earlier than both pent and nino yet i never see people talk about him that much
You'd think having Lyn Mode + joining the earliest out of your magic users would be enough to make him notable, but Lucius also has Lyn mode, has a unique sprite and gets C staves on promo, Canas is your only dark magic user and pretty good at base, Nino is a fan favorite Est and Pent is godly so he seems very vanilla compared to everyone else.
I wonder how Priscilla and Serra would look. They go too fast for any staff training. They still need to be able to kill the fire dragon at the end, so promo at 10 might be too tough. They both average 17-18 at 10/20, good enough to deal damage to the fire dragon with the S Rank tomes, but getting S rank won't be easy (though the A Rank ones might be good enough)
Would like to see Geitz and Karla on the Jeigan-wheel if possible, since we're likely to never see them otherwise. Marcus would vanish, but I don't think anyone's opposed to giving him a break for once(except maybe you guys lol) Early on I thought for sure Raisin's Erk would break 20 magic, but he decided to gain massive defense instead, and I can't say he was wrong.

Shinon is the closest we had to this, and I feel that worked alright

Geitz is a carry I'm looking forward to more than any other. Training all 3 lords and then having to get Geitz to 20 is going to be hella chaotic.
