In September 2019, I went back home to Jakarta for a short 2 weeks holiday. My boyfriend and I took 2 days to film around showcasing what you can do in Jakarta as a traveler or a tourist. When people go to Indonesia, they oftentimes will go straight to Bali as the main destination hence Jakarta is often overlooked. I hope that the video will give a glimpse as to how and what you can do while in Jakarta.

In 2013, I started my solo travel journey, leaving Indonesia in 2016 to become a full-time traveler and TH-cam creator. My background in International Relations has fueled a profound interest in exploring different countries. My content focuses on exploring different cultures through the lens of a solo female traveler, aiming to capture real-life interactions and experiences.
My travels kicked off with a five-month trip across Asia, after which I moved to China in January 2017 to work as an English teacher-my first time living abroad. I left China in 2018 to fully commit to creating videos on TH-cam, where I share my travels and the cultures I encounter.

As always, didn't skip the ads. Went to Jakarta in 2018, the same trip that I met you in Padang. I really liked Jakarta. The public bus system, the train to the airport, there are many convenient ways to beat the traffic. The Grab n GoJek were VERY handy mobile apps. National Monument, Istiqlal Mosque n Jakarta Cathedral were awesome. Went to Kota and really loved the atmosphere at the square, full of life. Cafe Batavia's interior as well as the food. We had a wonderful time in Jakarta n felt like Jakarta is often overlooked mostly cuz of Bali i guess.

My father was Dutch Indonesian. He only had good things to say about his 27 years in Indonesia. Had a Dutch passport but never lived there. In 1994 in returned to Sabang, Jakarta, Bandung. Of 7 kids he was the only one to return.

Oohh... I love that Indonesian food! Reminds me of an old friend who’s from Jakarta. Back in the days, his mom used to cook Indonesian and we were always welcome to join them with diner 🍽. Very nice video again, you look proud to show your hometown, but please show more of Jakarta or other places in Indonesia 🙏. I thought to visit Bali never think about Jakarta. After your suggestion, I might be able to visit Jakarta because it looks beautiful. I am not fun of the crowd I have already traveled to Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai, Delhi, and Bangkok so I might be able to manage in Jakarta.
Jakarta crowd is manageable and nothing as compare to delhi india.
Bandung is worse than Jakarta about traffic jam

You can buy a prepaid card immediately upon entering the country; kiosks at the arrival area of most Indonesian airports sell most brands of GSM prepaid cards. You can even buy SIM cards or additional call credits from small warung (streetside eateries) and convenience stores.
I think the best way is to buy online to prepare before traveling to Indonesia
. You will be able to buy it at the normal price. I used to go to buy a SIM card at the airport. The normal price is 10,000 Rp. But they let me pay 200,000 Rp. I need to pay because traveling alone and it is necessary to use it. (This is normal when you are a foreigner. It happens in every country)

Having been to Malaysia, I do see some similar food but then it also is the same for others when they see Nepali and Indian food.
