- Jakarta is the capital of Indonesia, a country with some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. That's why Jakarta (Java Island) generally surprises visitors despite being a huge capital. The highlights of this video include visits to Merdeka square, the National Monument (Monas), Ragusa ice cream, Istiqlal Mosque, Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral, and Skye Bar and Restaurant.
This is my very first vlog in Jakarta, and it's the beginning of the Indonesia travel guide series. Please note that this trip was before the lockdown, we are not in Jakarta at the moment.

► WHO AM I?
Short answer: I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!

It's just some parts of the city are clean , doesn't necessarily mean all parts of the city are clean.
That means they Had a Powerful Dictator. The Philippines throw away their dictator before he could build more of what Suharto and Sukarno built.
Sorry to reveal it to you but Jakarta has lots of faces. The clean and modern look is mostly only in some parts of South and Central Jakarta. Meanwhile, the rest of the city looks just like any other third world cities with all of its problems including floods, slums, and criminals. Be wary of your pockets if you're here. Also, if you bring backpack, put it in front of you. Everyone do the same in Jakarta to prevent being robbed.
