    That's my life, when you expect something to be fucked up it comes out not so bad, but when I'm doing something that should take 10 minutes something goes wrong and I'll be stuck for a few hours.

    I’ve been so scared of that pinch bolt but this video just gave me some confidence. Pray for me

    With all due respect this almost NEVER happens. That bolt is usually 99% stuck and requires a lot of work. I wish it was that easy as it is in your video.

      I feel your pain in the UK every fucking one is seized solid,
      Wankers at audi could of used a bit of anti seize, not like audi haven't used that set up for years let be honest

      @@johncoldwell340 I personally don’t like to use anti-seize on those. I’d rather use waterproof grease. Green marine grade grease works well.

    I’m planning to replace all the suspension components on my 2007 A4 b7 next month and I’m already having nightmares about that bolt. I will start spraying pb blaster every other day; hopefully this will help.
    Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge.

    Hey, I noticed you are quite knowledgable in Audi issues. I was wondering if you have any ideas why my car sounds like I have bad bushings when going over speed bumps. I have checked all bushings front and back, replaced a few control arms, but the sound is always the same

    Use PU bushings... And that will never happen again 😅

    That is the most hated bolt in the VW/Audi world. I had to drill one out. It snapped on both sides.

    With over 315K miles on my 2000 Passat, I've replaced upper control arms several times and had to drill out the pinch bolts. Now I remove and lube the pinch bolts annually.

      Did you use anti-seize during the replacements and still have trouble getting them out?

    • @n9wox
      @n9wox ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@vigneshie yes, still a problem with using anti-seize and leaving the bolts in too long. That's why remove and relube annually.

      @@n9wox anti seize isn't meant for applications like bolts, as it'll dry out over time in my experience (auto tech, 6 years). Plus, it's meant for high temp applications like spark plugs, where the temperatures reach well into the thousands of degrees. It only does good if you apply it to threads and to non exposed parts, otherwise it'll attract contaminants. I've seen brake parts "lubricated" with anti seize and it almost always seizes the parts, makes caliper bolts and caliper slide pins very hard to remove. I personally use wheel bearing grease as i've never seen wheel bearings rust, corrode, or get stuck because of grease that was packed into the bearing. On brake parts like slide pins, it's brake parts lubricant, personally I use permatex. Personally, I haven't used anti seize in years, even on spark plugs (currently a tech for VW).

      @@TheProgGuy most of the pinch bolt isn't exposed. It's hidden in the hub.

    Is it true the rear lower is liquid filled....I could've sworn I saw some gunk leaking I thought was oil but it wasn't nor was it coolant or hydraulic.

    Will a bad upper control arm cause steering wheel vibrations?

  • @brianramirez8812
    @brianramirez8812 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you recommend replacing the whole arm to avoid changing bushings or its best too struggle a bit and bushings do come out

    Love this channel! Can you do a heater core replacement, my car has no heat & I have to keep filling it with coolant so much that I just use water now, Bc coolant is expensive but I have to fill too often but I don’t see any leaks or anything in my drive way,

      Is it an A4? My last A4 had that same problem. Constantly filling it with water. This was many years ago, car is long gone and I don't think I ever fixed the problem. If you found the solution I am curious to know
