You and me both! I know what I want to achieve most of the time, but the journey there is always different, so my thougts are mostly somewhere along the lines of "OMG, I'M CRAZY!!! WHAT WS I THINKING??" xD Luckily, experience thought me that it always turns good in the end :)

If your paper is warping often, you may want to do a wash of water after you tape it down. This is known as stretching the painting. Once you have wet it and then let it fully dry you'll have far less warping after.

I used to stretch my paper before using staples to secure it to the wood, but I'm too lazy to do that all the time... I do admit, however, that stretched paper is the most comfortable to paint on!! Normally my masking tape does a good job at keeping it in place, but it's been very hot over the past couple of weeks and coupled with the heat gun, it just "swims" around xD Thank you so much for the tip, though. I really appreciate it :)
Hi Anita, I noticed that when the video transitioned from 11:58 to 11:59 the outlines became a bit more pronounced, what did you use to outline the pig and balloons with? Your painting is really fun and whimsical.

Thank you so much!! I'm still experimnting with outlines, so I gave on recording that part. I've used a mix of watercolor pencils, watercolor and regular colored pencils, trying to find something easier than just pure watercolor. Hope that helps :)
This is so adorable it remind me of the movie Porco Rosso but if he where a full on pig and couldn't fly his plane anymore. XD I am so glad your back I miss you and hearing your voice. Make me so glad to see your watercolor painting again and I'm glad your one of my biggest inspiration when it come to watcolor. Anita, I love the effect of the clouds in this painting. Do you have to use a different type of brush for gouache or is a water colour brush ok? Also, have you got any tips or tutorials on stretching paper? Thanks heaps!!

I use the exact same brushes for both gouache and watercolor, since I use gouache as pretty much just thicker watercolor :) And stay tuned for tutorials in December!

Not that many xD I try to paint as many different things as possible, so pigs are mostly in my sketchbooks and on this one old bag I've hand painted for a friend.
