Which is wild to read about :-) ha ha… Actually it is an ancient plant that is even found in England, in the USA, remnants found in fossil records everywhere. Today it is special, mostly around Southeast Asia and Micronesia but apparently in the past it was a worldwide plant flourishing in pretty much every part of every continent!! So crazy right!?
I was led to your channel by the great vids and friendship you have with Mark and his family. EVERY vid of your families together is an inspiration! The respect you show the culture, the love of all things natural and of course your friendship. I myself don't have many friends but the ones I have been blessed with are similar. I met my bestie when I was 14. I am now 55 and sometimes years have gone by without us seeing each other but no matter when we spoke or when we get together...it's like coming home. I recently ate some paw paws, a special fruit found here in the Eastern United States; but, that nipa palm, as you showed us, is almost otherworldly and magical. hey that's my hometown In that forest when night comes it will be a mosquito paradise. When I was young, I went to play in that forest for 5 hours. Three days later, I had dengue fever and had to stay in the hospital for a week. This video made me miss my hometown a lot. now i live in bangkok It might be time to go home again. JT!! Sorry to hear about that but actually this is not palm sugar, that usually comes from coconut trees. This is a very specific type of palm tree, you can see even I have never had it before after living in tropical countries for over 20 years

I wanted to TRY palm sugar so I bought a bag of palm sugar at walmart and it was NOT sweet, was terrible, a waste of money.
JT!! Sorry to hear about that but actually this is not palm sugar, that usually comes from coconut trees. This is a very specific type of palm tree, you can see even I have never had it before after living in tropical countries for over 20 years
Oh ok, I'm sure what you all had was excellent, I just didn't want people to think it was what walmart sells, I really wouldn't recommend the local stuff like you can buy at walmart type stores, I was searching for a possible substitute for regular white sugar but the one I tried was not it😁
