lol at people saying it’s a boring knife. That’s the whole point here, to be as low profile as possible, yet somewhat modern.
I would call it a simple clean design. So people would call that boring, I call it perfect!
It looks almost exactly like that Swiss Tech Walmart knife that everyone was losing their shit over just a few months ago.
Boring is exciting
Yah but with a toothpick
By far my favorite knife right now.
Not flying under the radar complex. That baby is sold out on the first two sites I checked. Blade h.q., WMK.
Ben’s story about the Sendy/Cedar is what sold it for me. Nearly every component has a tale. This is one of those knives that had sat on the back burner for awhile and was some back and forth between designer and engineer before it dropped. Personally I like the distinctive Spey blade. When you consider its use as a camp knife, it’s easier to spread stuff with a broad tip knife than a spear or steak knife. The Spey blade is also nice to get under paper/plastic wrist straps like from festivals, hospitals, etc. with less risk to the skin. Basically it’s a bit more EDC than usual, but that’s ok. Everything about the construction and action has been first rate. The only shortcoming is the tweezers just don’t have the bite that a pair of Vic SAK tweezers do. But Vic SAK tweezers will fit in the Sendy; you may need to reprofile the plastic tab on the SAK tweezers.
A little side note, the tooth pick and tweezers are literally perfect for getting out splinters. I personally took the tweezers and filed them down to razor sharp points. There now the best tweezers I own.
One of my favorite knifes to hit the market in 2024 so far.. need more like this
Wonderful video. Thanks for sharing with us a wide variety of things.
We are not all going to be interested in the same metal tools. I love seeing what's out there.
I bought 1 just for the toothpick / bowl poker. It's awesome I love it
Dude, yes! That is biggest draw for me too!
I see it as a Barlow shape but without the separate bolster. I got the G10 handle/spey blade version and love it.
Really like the simplicity on this one
I love mine with the dual coloured "Cedar" pattern G10 handles. The toothpick is not healthy for human teeth, but you can sharpen it to be a tiny chisel and it is a fantastic tiny scraper.
the dentist sure seems to go at my teeth with sharp metal with seemingly no regard
My Knafs Lander V1 Carbon Fiber Scale upgrade includes tweezers and toothpick!
It's a toothpick only in that it pays homage to SAK and that tool's original purpose. It's whatever you need it to be. Scrape, poke, etc.
I have one in the mail supposed to arrive tomorrow. Looking forward for it
I've been considering buying one as well. How are you enjoying yours?
I have the black version with the Spey blade and absolutely love it.
Been carrying the Sendy around for the last week. It’s been a good time. For the price, just go get one.
$63 seems like a great price to me. I love the utility of this knife. A 3.25” blade version would be cool, but sub 3” makes the most sense because it will be legal in many more places.
More great stuff from Ben, Do you have a Lander 2 video in the works? I cant put that dang thing down, or his new Yipper by MKM?
Action on lander 2 clutch lock is great isn't it!
This is such a dad's knife. I'm definitely getting one 😆
Simplicity does not equal bad, and affordable does not mean it’s cheap. Basic knife designs exist for a reason because when something works, why change it? The aesthetic might be simple and minimalist but the design has enough added features that make it stand out and from what I can tell from the reviews is that flipper is excellent and makes the knife super snappy. I like the design and I would happily carry it next to my Winter Blade Co Factor to blend expensive and unique with the simple and timeless!
Not really something that I'd edc but there's definitely a place in my toolbelt for one of those. Would be nice to preform splinter surgery with something other than a f'd up utility blade for once! lol
I think it's a great looking knaf , and it's a very useful tool. That's a church, around the house or just ultra light edc .
Ohhh just noticed there are 2 blade profiles... mine has a flat spot on top toward the tip
Ayeee, this is the knife I've been waiting for. Trying to scrounge up enough pocket change for it. I'm actually planning on buying two of them, because I want the wood scales but not black hardware.
I have this knife. I like it a lot. If it were any smaller I don't think I would care for it. I agree with the recommendation.
Just got mine last night. Didn't even know about the tweezer and pick, lol Good for splinters.
Neat little knife. Thanks MC
I got both those tools on my desk and I bet a Sendy is coming in soon
The Vosteed Corgi is my preference for this style of knife.
Nice "lunchbox" knife 👌
I like the relic cause of the tweezers I'm still on the fence with this one. Never used the tweezers cause uncle bills sliver grippers are the best tweezers
This is like a traditional knife that I would actually carry because I hate slip joints
It seems a little thick for the form factor to me. One thing these style flippers usually excel at (and I appreciate) is being very svelte, making them perfect for office use or dress carry. So close, but a miss for me. Would have been perfect for my dad, as he was always searching for a toothpick.
No Metal Complex Logo table slap intro? Monday is ruined.
That only happens during unboxings 😉
I’d like to see a couple different steel options, I’d pick one up
I know most people don't actually use the toothpicks in these knives but whomever decided to use metal for a toothpick must never have gone to a dentist and had a metal pick used on their teeth. The people at Victorinox apparently know the feeling. Other than that the Sendy is interesting.
You're totally wrong. It's not going after victorinox at all. It has a lot more in common with German wwi utility knives "Otter" and black cat etc. These German knives are still popular in this price range.
Ben has a video on his channel specifically saying he took the inspiration from SAKs and other Barlow style blades.
You can thumb flip it too. I carry it more than my pena lol
The flipper is like on the old Kershaw overdrive
Anythung under my fingernails bothers me, so im cleaning them every other day. Id love the toothpick for that
Carry a nail clipper. Its 100 times more useful than a toothpick
@@rays5163 i do, but in a pinch that pick would be nice
@@HeartMarksman maybe but i always lose those things. someone needs to think of a better solution than to just press fit it in.
@@rays5163@rays5163 Honestly all that is a you problem lol. Im glad you commented again cause i lied, i dont carry a nail clipper. I only have a toe-nail clipper and that stays in the restroom. I maintain my nails with my knife and have for almost 20 years, and i enjoy keeping up with my apprearence so its been fun and handy. I specifically as a niche buyer can appreciate this niche set of tools. So with that being said, i cant relate at all. I dont buy purposless crap to lose. I keep up with myself as well as my items, so pressure fit isnt a problem for me. Maybe this just isnt your cup of tea.
@@HeartMarksman yeah friction fitting a toothpick and tweezers is still a god awful design. especially on the SAK models designed to be hung from a keychain. unless you're not actually putting those tools to use they are gaurunteed to become lost.
I have the spay sendy. I love Ben's designs, they always appeal to me. I do not like the Titanium frame lock designs we see so much on this channel.
Hell yeah, if you don’t eat chicken in your vehicle I might have a problem relating to you. 🍗
Ben Peterson knives are great
Ben Petersen has a gift for making the most bland and generic knife designs I’ve ever seen, but DAMN are they functionally excellent and flawlessly practical. I thought the Banter was the most “that’s a knife alright” knife I ever saw, until I saw the Lander, until I saw the Sendy. But I could never discourage anyone from buying any of those knives because each one hits the nail squarely on the head.
Much better than all the high end stuff that looks like gas station acquisitions.
Not my jam, but looks like a solid little user.
I think it's pretty cool.
GIVE IT TO ME IN MAXAMET😂😂😂
*Spear* point
Other knife makers: Hey guys, what do you guys think we can charge for timascus tweezers and toothpick?
Also.......
Victorinox: Why those Mother$#@&ers.
Can’t wait to get mine! Love Ben and all he’s done! Try to always support the man!
This will not scare too many Karen's. Compared to my others in my collection.
Civivi always gives their wood handle versions that shitty black finish that makes them look like cheap garbage, give me the steel hardware and wooden scales god damnit! Or release a red version to really embrace the victorinox homage
Buy a different knife if you want something functional and useful.
The Civivi Sendy looks like an amazing knife, but it's not. This is a knife that needs constant babysitting. The Toothpick doesnt like to stay and tries to escape at the most inconvenient times. I've lost it 3 times, and this last time it seems to be gone for good. The tweezers are much to pointy they have zero purchase. In order to make them usable, I had to grind them down till they had a larger flat surface. I used sandpaper because i didn't have access to a grinding tool. The knife while very pretty, doesnt like to do its job of cutting. It tends to get hung up at the base and seems to dull quickly. When I say you have to babysit this knife, I'm not joking. This is supposed to be a reliable tool which holds 2 other tools. That's its purpose. When i told civivi about these issues, this was their reply...["The tweezers is placed on the presentation side scale, and the toothpick is placed on the lock side scales. If these positions are reversed, it may result in the toothpick being more prone to slipping out.
The edge retention and sharpness is influenced by various factors, such as steel composition, blade geometry, thickness, hardness, and usage patterns.
If there are any concerns or questions about your blade, we kindly suggest you send the knife to our USA after-sales center, we will check the blade. ]
Why? If this issue was already known, why did this tool not come with instructions? Why inform me now? Why is it my job to pay them to look at something they know is a problem? Why do I need to babysit a tool? If I find another issue, are they gonna gaslight me again with instructions they didnt provide?
I repeat, Buy a different knife if you want something functional and useful.
spey point designed for cutting the ...chessnuts of a bull so to speak
Mehhhhhh! 😂😂
Hardly mind-blowing, is it
As bland as a bland thing.
In my Humble opinion.
Kinda nice "simple" knife.
But I like my teeth, so a metal toothpick is a big no no.
Damn out of stock
In stock @ Rivers edge cutlery as of now
It resembles a Swiss Army knife. Boring.
uninteresting and overpriced
Hey MC, Monday morning here. How about them CHIEF's,
