    I've been using it since 2021 and not seeing myself switching to anything else in the next few years, unless M50 breaks that is. Got Viltrox 33mm and 56mm and my experience was nothing but great. I usually shooting in low-light and I don't think I ever had to go past ISO1000. :)
    Bought a Canon 22mm f/2 for it recently, and the value is insane. Sharp pancake with f/2 for under a 150 eur new? Such a steal.

    it's amazing camera and i'm still using it, native lenses are excellent for a normal use not everyone is a professional who can afford to spend 1K+ on 1lens

    The lens makes a huge difference in M50 for videos, this is what I have observed. For photography the kit lens is good & sharp, but for videos it's kind of trash in many situations. Since everyone is jumping to mirrorless, it's easy to find used EF lenses these days. I personally think buying the Viltrox speed booster and buying used full frame lenses can give good results.

      @@reelfilmmaking101 +1 for the Speedbooster and EF lenses. It makes it a an even more capable camera.

    I’ve been researching the m50 a lot lately because I wanted to gift one to a friend and I did find one for around that $400 price range on eBay! The biggest thing I’ve found is that the average youtuber considers the quality of the m50 to still be top tier because many still shoot on their phones. And a lot of people are still rocking iPhone models older than the 11 series. My friend was using a Sony a5100 for her videos so the m50 was quite the upgrade! And even though canon has abandoned the Mount, the versatility within the Mount is more than enough for my friend and the average user! I used the sigma 18-35mm on my m50 before I upgraded to my r7 and I agree the quality was amazing. Good glass definitely makes a big difference. I still love my m50 as a travel camera because my r7 feels big to me and I’m too scared to take it outside because it’s far more expensive 💀Great video thanks!

      Thanks! Yeah, I totally agree, for most people the M50 still provides great quality particularly if you light it well and have good glass on it. And yeah, I've traveled a ton with my M50 and it's a beast for travel content and photography!

    I got one used for 278 bucks with kit lens. Love it, but the video is a bit grainy even in well-exposed condition & lowest ISO.😊

    • @reelfilmmaking101
      @reelfilmmaking101  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a sweet deal! Yeah, even at the lowest ISO aps-c cameras can be a bit grainy, they definitely are light hungry!

    I had 2 M50 mark i’s. I traded them to MPB for the M6 Mark II. I like the form factor of the EFM set up and have like 5 lenses so I figured the M6 would allow me to use it for a few more years and not be too far behind with 4k and other such features.

    • @reelfilmmaking101
      @reelfilmmaking101  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That sounds like a great move! I’m currently debating whether to sell/upgrade my M50 to an M6 Mk II or to possibly switch to another APSC system.
      How’s the M6 Mk II?

    • @kavonjonesmba
      @kavonjonesmba 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@reelfilmmaking101 the M6 Mk II is great. I don’t know another offering from Canon with un-cropped 4k for anywhere near the price. If you’re considering switching Canon R8 or Sony cameras would be worth a strong look. If you stay I recommend getting the EF/EFS adapter and a speed booster so you can buy those lenses instead of the EFM mount and those lenses can grow with you on the RF mount later.

    Thanks for the review. Question, I went to a big camera store near me to ask some questions about my recently acquired Canon M200, the minute you mention M50, M6 mark ll, M200. They launch into almost a sermon about "you know those are discontinued", seems like almost a disdain for something they sold not too long ago.

    • @reelfilmmaking101
      @reelfilmmaking101  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah, I think there's just the general mantra at stores to push the "newest" gear and not even comment on how "older" equipment is still very good value for money and highly capable.

    If you were to sell your M50 and upgrade, how much would you want to get for the M50, and what camera would you upgrade to?

    • @reelfilmmaking101
      @reelfilmmaking101  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a great question, but also complicated to answer too, lol. Currently, because I have some Canon EFM and EF glass, I would probably sell my M50 and upgrade to the Canon M6 mkii. If sold all my Canon stuff, I would probably move over to the Panasonic ecosystem and pick up the S5mkii, it looks like a beast of a camera.
      In terms of selling price, I would probably try to sell my M50 for $300 and maybe up the price by a couple hundred dollars by including some of my EFM lenses.
