The original by Chris Isaak is more haunting and desperate. Angelina’s version is stripped down (she just plays chords on the piano in a plain rhythm), slowed down and she adds a lot of melancholy. It gives the song a much more sad feeling than the original. This is just her practicing at home and she makes me feel every word and every note.
Unfortunately people keep reacting to this video instead of the one where she plays the piano but anyways this is one of my favorite performances. Also comparing AJ with Diana is just a waste of time, AJ is untouchable.

You are definitely reading too much into the photos. This was proud grandma showing off her beautiful and extremely talented granddaughter. Grandma Mery Zamani is a very talented artist and has contributed her own artistic talent to many of Angelina’s videos. I think it’s safe to say and probably an understatement to say she has contributed greatly to her granddaughter’s development. Just don’t think she was trying to do anything but show people how much she cares for and loves Angelina. AJ touches the heart, the soul, more than any other artist I have heard with the exception of one song; Johnny Cash singing Hurt. Johnny did it once, AJ, over and over again. Johnny's version of Hurt is almost devastatingly impactful.

She was 11 or just 12 here, playing her soulful and unusual arrangement on her piano. It is a very sad song and she captured the sadness.
