THIS IS THE WORST THING ABOUT THE BRONCO SASQUATCH

  • There is a lot to love about the new Bronco Sasquatch, but there are some things that could be better. I think the Goodyear Territories are the worst thing about the Bronco Sasquatch and in this video, I will tell you exactly why.

    … that’s because those tires are NOT mud terrain tires.

    • @chrishaugh1655

      Maybe they shouldn't classify their tire "MT" then? No?

    • @GrayGhostDog1
      @GrayGhostDog1 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@chrishaugh1655 maybe this is unfortunate for some, but Goodyear is free to classify their products any way they choose… it may be confusing for some, but for others that do a little bit of research it’s not that big of a deal. Goodyear’s Territory MT stands for, “Maximum Traction.” It’s not rated as a 3-peak tire, either. Quite a few manufacturers are using them as OEM tires because of their on-road performance… they’ll be included on Toyota’s Tacoma TRD Pro and Trailhunter trim levels.

      Their on road performance really is great. Their off road performance is good as well from what I experienced. They are just so weak and that’s their downfall

      @@OFFTHEGRIND ... agree 💯 . If I were wheeling more than the occasional weekend warrior, those OEM tires would have to be swapped out immediately for more durable rubber... unfortunately, that's going to bring heavier tires with increased road noise.

    Good video. My buddy had these on his Sasquatch and replaced them with Toyo MTs, then gave me the Territoty's. I live in the Denver metro and we have had some decent snow recently, and to be honest they have been pretty good surprizingly! My old tires wore out and instead of paying a second mortgage for new tires I decided to go with these. Offroad they are not too bad either but like you said, lacking that extra sidewall ply always gives the pucker factor. I am going to drive on these like I stole them then put Nitto Exo's back on my Rubicon. Take care

    Thanks for your honest thoughts. I was considering this tire for my Rubicon until reading what others had to say and what you covered in your great review. I've also read where others have said the "MT" stands for "Maximum Traction" and not Mud Terrain. The Goodyear Territory tread pattern more closely resembles a hybrid RT tire tread. Great choice on replacement tires with the Falken R/T 01's. Probably will wind up pulling the trigger on Falken Wildpeak AT4W's. Just subscribed to your channel, especially after watching your Idaho winter adventure in the snow and what you had to go through with your Bronco's steering freezing up! Wild.

      I had heard that too but I think that’s really dumb. But I should have probably said it anyways. Despite that I’m just kit a fan, and I know others don’t like them either. The falkens are great. In my experience I like the nittos a little more because they are a little softer and a little quieter than the falkens were and perform very similarly in my experience. I think the falkens are better suited for heavier rigs, but they are still an awesome tire! And thanks for subbing man!

    Ive had Falken Wildpeaks and absolutely loved them. Mine were A/T3's. They performed absolutely flawlessly for my little adventure park trails and the mud holes I went through. I would rate Falken on about the same level at Nitto's, unfortunately, theyre both very expensive at $378 per in my area. The RT01's are $400 per tire, so $2000+ is a bit steep for 5 new shoes.

    I hated these tires at first just because they threw rocks like crazy. After 5-8K miles on them that slowed way down as far as throwing rocks. I have a buddy with Rubicon unlimited and his KO2 actually collected more rocks on some of our off road trips. I have used mine aggressively on many off road trails and no punctures yet they seem to be way tougher than I had thought. I think there weakness is mud and I don't do much mud mainly Colorado and Utah. I have grown to like these tires a lot and picked up a set of take offs with no miles for $700 I thought it was a great deal!

Was on a two week trip to Montana and one got a puncture large enough that it needed two plugs/cords to stop. That was the last straw. How is the increased noise with these R/Ts? Like you said I'm willing to sacrifice weight for durability, but noise will wear on me.

    The MT doesn't stand for "Mud-Terrain". It actually stands for "Maximum Traction". It confuses a lot of people because it's an MT and we've always associated MT as a Mud direct tire. True Mud terrain tires have large lugs to allow the mud to be thrown from the tire at high RPM's to allow more "Bite" to continue momentum.

    • @OFFTHEGRIND
      @OFFTHEGRIND  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve heard this claim a lot. I’ve tried looking in to it but I can’t find anything on their website or fords saying that that’s what the stands for. Then on discount tires website, they specifically call it a mid terrain. So I’m very confused by this haha

    • @jimprice7638
      @jimprice7638 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@OFFTHEGRIND yeah, that is weird. When the Bronco first came out in 2020, both ford and goodyear mentioned that the MT stood for Maximum Traction, but i can't find it now. The reviews also showed the tires were softer which isn't good for longevity and also causes a lot of chunkin of the tires. The softer compound sticks better over rocky terrain, but also destroys the tires prematurely. You were right to change them. That is the first thing I'm doing to my Bronco.

      @@merkubuilt I did. I also said I actually liked how they road and handled in most condition. My biggest complaint is how weak they are. They chunk and split like crazy. So I think they’re a good commuter tire if you want to look like you off road, but because of how brittle they are, not an good tire for actual offroading

      @OFFTHEGRIND it's load C tire, mud tires are load E. Other All terain tires come in both C and E. C load is lighter tire by 6 to 10 lbs, mpg tire. You can't compare lower ply count load C tire to higher ply count load E tire, its different animal.
      This is great tire for rating that it's rated.
      As in All terain tire and as load C tire.

      @merkubuilt this wasn’t a comparison. It was a I hate these tires for this reason and this is what I got to replace them. Seems like you’re looking for an argument. You should look elsewhere cause I’m not interested

    "pretty good gas mileage." Yeah, you lost me there! I regret nothing about my Bronco, but I knew going into it gas mileage would be abysmal.....and it is. I'm not complaining, just pointing your 'good gas mileage' quip was hilariously wrong and cringe.
