      Snacks??lol. The less frequently you eat the lower the glucose. That is why intermittent fasting works. Eating and snacking will always raise your bg. When you elevate your BS all dayong you overtax the pancreas.

    December 1 was told my A1c was just under 11. So changed the diet, no white food except cauliflower, no sugar, no snacks. Fish 3 days a week, lots of vegetables and fruits, and water…no alcohol. Mid January started at the gym, 5 days a week, about 8 hours in total. Beginning of March, lost 60#, A1c now at 5.2. On the way to losing the next 60#

    I dropped my A1C from 13 to 5.4 in 3 months, my approach is to first reduce my blood sugar and now I am looking at healing my body. Physical activity does help with reducing blood sugar.
    I told myself I will reverse my diabetes to completely, now the healing portion is taking more energy. Now, I am concentrating on healing the different parts of my body by creating a blue print in my mind and following through. Exercising is a great point. I have diabetic and non-diabetic people asking my if they should do resistance training similar to what I do, to achieve their goals. I always tell them to find something that 'they' like to do. This way they will stick to it. I agree that intermittent fasting is good, yet I am trying to gain muscle and do intermittent fasting at the same time. It is difficult since I have to eat 2 large meals per day that spike my blood glucose.

      Let's see, sugarcane grows above the ground, all grains grow above the ground, and both of those groups of foods are very injurious to people with diabetes. Fruit grows above the ground. I don't think you can use that metric of growing above the ground, or below the ground to choose good foods. The ultimate test is what it does to your blood glucose. Your body is the ultimate arbiter of what foods are good.

Just don’t care for it. Just recently switched from black coffee to hot tea. Coffee will elevate the blood sugar. I practically fast all the time bc I have never been a big eater. I prefer to eat in the late afternoon, or in the evening. Once in a while if a relative offers me a soft drink, I drink a huge glass of water, then I will take an ounce, or two of a soft drink. So wonderful, but it sure stays with you. Best to just decline the drink every single time. I like my water with a slice of lime, or lemon. I stick to the regular milk, bc fat free foods will always be I nuanced with additives, to replace the good flavor that was removed in the fat.

I read about how fatty meats blockk your cells from receiving glucose. It’s not realistic for me to not eat any carbs. I use mostly complex carbs and drastically reduce the portion of sweets. It’s also great to drink herbal tea and take vitamins and minerals that your body may be low in. My level went from 11 to 9 in September. I Try to wait 12 hours before eating. My goal is to get down to 7 next time. Thanks.

      I also read fatty meat blocks glucose to cells - but never found a scientific explanation for that statement. On the contrary, science & studies have shown fatty red meat invigorates the body with minerals, keeps you full longer & enables intermittent fasting with ease. It has worked for me to reduce blood sugar. I don't want to claim it works the same for everyone, but definitely there is no scientific explanation of your statement.

      Tracy, it was when I was a vegetarian that I developed pre-diabetes because of the extreme protein cravings I had. Those made me over-eat carbs which caused the diabetes. I have heard that theory about fatty meat blocking your cells from receiving glucose and I honestly think it's just bunk,. I have proved it myself in my own body. If you are taking insulin, it means that you have serious disease and I would get serious about reducing the number of carbs. You're taking that thought that it is not realistic for you not to have some carbs too seriously. It's actually just a thought in your mind and just like he said whether you think you can or you can't, you're correct, so the thought that you cannot go without carbs is just a false belief in my opinion.

    • @elizabethblane201
      @elizabethblane201 ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course, Traciy work with the doctor if you start really reducing carbs because you can have a hypoglycemic event if you are taking insulin, that can be very dangerous. That fact actually proves how effective it is to reduce carbs.

    • @bornonthesun
      @bornonthesun ปีที่แล้ว

      @@elizabethblane201It's not bunk. There's a whole program called Mastering Diabetes that goes into great detail on this. They also have coaches that will support you through it and if your not happy they will refund your money or coach you for free until you have success. I have seen many, many people have success with it. Stick to a whole food plant based diet and it can work wonders. Everyone has to find what works for them, but this is a highly successful method.

    Lowered my A1C from 14 to 6 in 6mos, through dietary changes. And it was actually quite easy, switching from a sweet to a savory diet. Caring enough about myself to eat good food. @@joeh1687 Hello, Joe ... those two aren't so far apart, are they? unless you're comparing vegetarianism to carnivore. IMO, both of those exclusionary extremes are wrong, tho not as wrong as my previous diet which was all bread all the time, with bits of other things as filler a/o garnish, with sugar to drink. The ideal is meats and vegetables, with occasional fruits and grains. And high-quality, unprocessed meats. Is eating this way expensive? Compared to a fast food diet, it's dirt cheap, esp if eating the minimal quantities a person should be eating!

    I believe much of the water that camels need is in fact in the hump. It is there where fat is stored. It is in the burning of fat, in the absence of having an external source of water, that water is produced. Camel's manufacture water more than they "store" it. Great video-thank you! It is the rule that type 2 diabetes is entirely reversible!!

      @TypeRhino  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I defiantly got the camel hump thing wrong in one of the video not sure which one it was. To be clear on what reversing t2d means. You will always be t2d you can not make cell except the glucose from your blood. But you can control your blood sugars so you don’t have to take medication. Interestingly a diabetic nurse said I was no longer a t2d but when I asked why does my blood sugar shoot up when I eat starchy foods or chocolate then she had no answer, What’s important you can live a healthy life

    I refuse to accept diabetes. My lab results show a high a1c consistent with this "disease". But I am taking accountability for how I've been caring for my body and making better choices. It's been two weeks and I've steadied my sugar levels just by exercising wisdom. I refuse to ever take drugs or label myself as chronically sick.
    My advice..
    Get sleep (7-8 hours minimum)
    Eliminate processed and refined foods
    Eat whole foods
    Walk daily (30 mins minimum) especially after meals
    Research supplements that can naturally work with your body to resore your metabolic health (Berberine, Alpha Lipoic Acid, NAC, Benfotiamine)
    Reduce carb intake (Replace pastas breads and white rice - Zuccini, squash, Ezekiel and Sourdough breads, Brown and Wild rice are good alternatives)
    Increase Fiber
    Apple Cider Vinegar with water before or after meals
    Dandelion Tea with ceylon cinnamon nightly (Green Tea is also great)
    Milk Thistle (Tincture form only)
    Educate Yourself
    You can do it!

      Actually Islam promotes the worst fastening a person can undergo. You failed to mention that during those 30 days Muslims fast only during the hours when the sun is out . But once the sun goes away (night time ) Muslims eat like pigs . With problem with that is they go to bed with an extremely full stomach. It’s very well known it’s dangerous for your health to eat full and big meals at night time and even worst go slept right after. No wonder diabetes is very high in Muslim populations ! If you are a Muslim , do the opposite !!! Eat while the sun is up and stop eating once it goes down .

I decided to change my diet first and began cutting out any kind of sugar, white pasta/bread, snacks, desserts and eating whole pasta/cereals, legumes, white meat (fish and chicken), more vegs (broccoli, cauliflower, green/red leafes etc), some selected fruits (oranges, green apples mainly), nuts, some seeds. For breakfast organic soy milk+whole cow milk w/ oat flakes + 90% Dark Bitter Organic Chocolate or pure bitter cacao powder + soluble bartley + lin and sunflower seeds.
      I think I'll do another test soon and probably a test of the AC1 as well.

    ATP cycle normally carbs and fat together. In the absence of carbohydrate, fat is burned but a equal amount of fat is converted to ketones (i.e. twice the fat is metabolized) which can be exhaled, out through the urine, etc. Probably missing something here, since I am not a medical professional.

    Hi! do you keep doing Intermittent Fasting (IF) 16/8 yet or are u doing any other type of IF? Also, I was curious if you still maintain your A1C at 4.6.
    And about the diet, as you said, you cut out the bad carbs, but did you increase your healthy fat consumption? Maybe you ate more nuts, olive oil, avocado, etc or you just kept them at the same quantity? I'm studying the A1C but have found just a little of people that could reduce A1C below 5, so I'd really thank you if you answer. Great video!

      I still fast but 6 weeks and then a normal. For 3 months. Fat is your friend simple. It burns slow in the body. Full fat milk yogurt cheese.

      @@TypeRhino thanks for the reply. I'm gonna check A1C in a few days. I'm trying to see if it's low enough with my diet. Greetings from Chile!

    My grandmother, a Hindu, used to fast at least four times per month on New Moon, Full Moon and eleventh day of Moon in each phase. Those days are spaced almost evenly on the calendar. She lived in underdeveloped India till about 80 without any diabetes. I am her grandson. I live in advanced UK. I always ate lots of food and developed diabetes that I did not know till I had a very bad infection on my right toe. It had to be amputated. It was my lifestyle and diet that caused me diabetes. Insulin, Metformin and statin etc. are no solutions. I need to change my diet seriously. to get out of this problem. Hope I will be able to do that.
