      There is racism everywhere.
In NZ when l was a child I saw how different ethnic groups were treated, lslanders, Chinese Indians Italians Greeks Poles etc
All the derogatory names and the jokes.
My mother was half Greek but my name is Jones so no-one knew and l kept it to my self. I thought that if they knew l would would be treated that way too.
I moved to Australia where Racism was much worse. Working in an underground gold mine in 1974 my leading hand would tell me about his adventures hunting Aboriginals for sport. Bragging about killing people for fun. Later l worked with one of the Rhodesian rat runners who told me tales of being a captain in the army reserve spending his weekends fighting their war, all his soldiers were black the officers white And he a very religious man he liked all those "good boys". So long as they did what they were told. But the very worst racist l have met was a Maori. He hated everyone. His favourite tale was how when the Maori came to NZ they drove the original inhabitants out of NZ and the remnants escaped to the Chatham islands. When the Whiteman came to NZ the Maori hired a ship to take them to a meeting, but they hijacked the ship put the crew ashore filled it up with warriors and went to the Chatham islands to exterminate the last of the original inhabitants. But the hatred he had for Samoans Tongans Chinese everyone else was extreme racism.
Racists of every type are the worst of all people.

Anyone from any culture and race can be racist. I'm an American of Mexican ethnicity. When I was 9 years old I got my first taste of racism. In 1964 I won 1st place in the library's reading contest where I had to write an essay on each book I read. I got my picture taken for the newspaper, but only of my back, they had me facing the librarian behind me, while the two White boys, who won second and third places, faced the camera. When I was managing an apartment building a Black couple came to my office mad as hell. They let me know that they knew I was Mexican and knew that once one Mexican moves in a whole lot of Mexicans follow. We are like roaches the lady told me. Since I was the manager I had to take that abuse. Of course, if someone would have said that to the nice Black couple, they would have screamed racism and sued. I know both White, Black and Mexicans who are racist against others. I've known people from all those groups who were racist and prejudiced against White, Blacks, Jews, Asians, Mexicans, Indians, Middle Eastern and anyone not included in this list. And I know those who deny racism are the ones who practice racism and prejudice against others. Because admitting racism means you acknowledge the issue, that it's unfair, abusive and one will need to change their own attitude against people they only know and judge superficially and not soul deep.

    • @DearBill
      @DearBill ปีที่แล้ว

Only North Africans , Middle Easterners, Turkish racism and Islamophobia could be justified for some geopolitical reasons and because of their Islamic practices.
No other racisms could be justified and all must be punished.
But I find islamophobia and Arabphobia is justified due to their racism, misogynistic tendancies and homophobia.

Racism is not the same thing as being prejudice....in order for someone to be racist, they would have to be linked as beneficiaries to the power and controlling class ie the system and laws passed due to ethnic and racial biases! Not everyone has the power to be racist. America's military, government, police, policies, science, medicine, FDA, residential redlining, media and social engineering etc are ALL forms of maintaining yt dominion over other ethnic groups in American society and culture ESPECIALLY people of African descent and the very bloodlines of blood the country and it's economic and military power structures were conveniently built upon so naaaah everyone cannot be racist from any ethnic group. That's just not true. It sounds good but, it's not true.

I can understand someone disliking or criticising another culture, because not all cultures are peaceful or respectful of people. But what skin color someone was born in, is obviously dumb. Culture is a bigger factor in what kind of person you are. The inner city black subculture, is very flawed to say the least. But blacks who grow up in rural areas or suburbs might be a whole different kind of people. Color doesnt matter, but your beliefs & values that are partly formed by your culture does

Well, just know, if you truly want an answer that is, that there is a GIANT propaganda machine 🎥 📺 💥 🩸 at the highest level, run almost exclusively by the same ethnoreligious group that benefits by keeping us all fighting each other as they gain more and more control, and you will be labeled Racist if you simply call this out.
The idea of people of different colors hating each other is NOT a natural phenomenon and it requires billions of dollars 💸 a year being poured into it to keep it from dying… and sadly it largely works on the majority of humans ☠️ The reason why it’s way more in America than Colombia (which I have been and have some awesome Colombians friends 😎), is because America is A LOT bigger threat than Colombia to being able to fight and resist this power that is trying to consume us all. The 1st and 2nd amendments are huge advantages to Americans which these basic human rights don’t exist in other countries. Hope you have the ears 👂🏼 👂🏼 to hear my 2 cents, cheers 🥂 🙏🏼 🥳

Growing up in the south but from an immigrant background, i can say that white southerners, especially of the older generation, tend to dislike or distrust anything different from what they are used to. I remember my family and i attending a Presbyterian church, and while the folks there did not say anything to us outright, we were never invited to events, etc. When they'd see us they'd be polite, but after that, there'd be no communication. One day, my mom overheard a conversation between the pastor and another member of the church in his office, and he said that he doesn't understand why these folks are attending our church. They're not one of us.
A friend of mine who is from California, older generation, blonde hair, blued eyed, looks like any Anglo Saxon southerner came to Blue Ridge GA, and when she went inside a store, the people stopped and stared at her. Physically she looks as northern European as you're going to get, but given that she doesnt sound like them, she instantly stood out. She too, had never been invited into southerners homes, even though her family has been in the US for generations.
In general, that has been what i have observed. In Atlanta and its surrounding areas like Gainesville and Acworth, etc, the southerners are a lot more open minded in general, especially the younger generation. Atlanta is no longer a southern city, it is an international city.
This has been my experience with southerners on a number of occasions. Not all though. I have known white southerners that were not like that. I remember going up to the mountains of North Georgia and i was parked at a small church and an older lady there, with the thickest southern accent, invited me to attend the service anytime I was in the area.

Basically unless you look like everybody, follow the one and only political party there and talk like everybody(I have a Yankee accent) you will alway be excluded from the tribe.

I grew up in the deep south, and I lived in Boston, Mass for several years. I can honestly say that Boston is much more racist and segregated that anything I've ever seen in the south in the last 50 years. In Boston the people use racial slurs and talk bad about other races in private conversation like nothing I've ever seen before in my life. They also segregate themselves by suburbs. For example, there were no black people in Saugus and there were no white people in Dorchester. This was in the early to mid-2000's.

Well in response to her point, yes they did have to form all black schools and churches due to segregation. But when it was abolished, those all black institutions remained. Her point is that they were created out of necessity, but as that necessity died out, these institutions didn't change. There became a new necessity after segregation was abolished, that necessity being unity and togetherness. We needed those qualities then and we need them now, to come together as brothers and sisters of humankind and love one another, to accept one another.

I live in South Carolina, and I like my heritage as a white man. I am not racist to any race. I have seen too many accounts of Blacks being racist to whites and other races in person in fact I was in the parking lot of a walmart with my mother and a Black woman was blaring music driving past us and my mother waved her hand with attitude because she was annoyed to tell her to go and the woman yelled and I quote, "Thats fine I dont even like white people." @@bnbcraft6666 Hello, I really appreciate your comment as it opens up room for discussion in a mature way probably more than my initial comment directs the topic if I'm honest.
The reason the south is considered more racist is because of personal experiences or story's of people moving or in the south. The second reason is because there is actually studies that statistically show that the south is more likely to hold more racist belief or biases. You are absolutely right to say some places in the north can be racist. Everyone can be racist unconsciously or conscious. And people of all race can be racist.
Here's where the problem comes in. And this is all my opinion ( I could be wrong). If you are in position of power your racist views hold more power. Thus if you hold said views when you control the laws, banks, law enforcement and etc is much more harmful especially when it's more extreme racism.
It's the moral responsibility of those people in position as public servents to get rid of us views and do what's best for the people. I'm not talking about left or right I'm talking about what's morally right.

I grew up when segregation was in full mode in the south. I sat in a restaurant while African Americans had to order food for take out, standing without even a bench or chairs to sit on while they waited for their food. Schools were of course segregated. Maggie, who treated me like her own helped watch me while my mother worked, and my father was overseas in the army. At 16 I got my license, and my mom asked me to drive her home and she refused to ride in the front seat next you me for fear of reprisal. This was just how it was. I said Maggie what's wrong. She just said "It's all right honey". Ashamed yes,, but we didn't know any better. Most of the south was even worse than my town. It was more than wrong. Can't blame the next generation for being pissed off. Thank God things have changed so,, so much. Maggie's generation never got to really know freedom, and the south, and others have to live with that. I can't ask anyone on the receiving end to forget it, but it's time to somehow let us find some kind of harmony between us, some kind of common ground. There's too much hate that still lingers from those past days, and it comes out of everyone, not just those on the receiving end from the past. What more can be said.

It makes me feel hopeless when I think about it sometimes. I grew in East Tennessee playing football with a lot of the black kids in my town. When I was younger in the 2000s, I never really noticed much animosity. But as I got older and started playing highschool ball I noticed some things. I started D line and the Nword was a common occurrence when my black teammates where on the line with me. I fought for them then, but then I noticed some of my white teammates, and even coaches, held racist views and would voice them in private. I never spoke up then, and it’s because I felt awkward and ashamed. We’ve all grown apart since then, I guess the waters ran too deep.

I wouldn't say that the ones on the receiving end are hating. I would call it frustration. People refuse to see how the racism of the past affects the wealth gap between white and black today.
