    I have 5 detolfs filled with collectibles and have been looking for months on the best lighting solution. After countless videos/tutorials I ran across your channel! I love your ideas and what you did with your collection. Thank you for a simple, informative video that explains everything. I appreciate it! Keep up the great work.

    I’m still in high school so I kind of have to rely on whatever’s already at home, I just use bookshelves. I mainly just collect 6” because it’s a lot more affordable than stuff like Hot Toys (even though i’d love to have one eventually lol)

    SUBSCRIBED! This video was awesome! Thank you! I have 1 detolf at home and planning on ordering about 5-6 for my new space for displaying helmets / figures / 3D print projects etc and this video was perfect.
    That smaller shelf on the bottom was a great idea to give some extra storage & raise them up more to eye level + hiding the wiring / power strips.
    Consider doing a 2023 version with new additions that you might have

    I am using display cabinets from Amazon, because it is too expensive for me to get it delivered to me, and then there's the gas going to the closest place which is Kansas City, but they are always sold out on the IKEA website. Wood display cabinets can hold more weight than the IKEA, in my opinion.

    Thanks for this. Very useful, as always. I'm still at the point where I have my figures in boxes pending the creation of a collection room. It's getting out of hand, and I very much feel like I'm collecting boxes rather than Hot Toys. Having said that, I do have one question for you : why did you opt not to install weatherstripping along the top and bottom? Does not a lot of dust get through there?

    • @KeCoCollects
      @KeCoCollects  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't have a great reason LOL. To me, those are the smallest points of dust entry on the cabinet -- the sides have more gap. Also, I used to have them on( a previous video) and I didn't like the look. It made a weird "frame" in the cabinet that took away from the figure -- so I'm not too worried about it, but do what's best for YOU

    • @KeCoCollects

  • @jonah3820
    @jonah3820 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great video! Love the way you display, and I absolutely agree that collections should have "breathability" on the shelf. Too many times I've seen collections with shelves filled to the brim, that it makes it look messy and overwhelming.
    Quick question: I've heard from other Detolf owners that some of the glass siding can randomly shatter, sometimes even YEARS after owning them. Should I be worried about this, as someone who's been wanting to get these to update my collection with? Thanks!

    • @KeCoCollects
      @KeCoCollects  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The biggest culprit from what I can see is tightening the screws too tight and setting things on top. If the glass is "bowing" something is too tight.
      I'm not too worried about it and I have a lot. Lol

    I have been thinking of setting up some of these ikea detolf shelving I wonder if instead of using the u shackles to just replace the metal frame with stainless threaded rods with stainless nuts that would be adjusted to the hight of the shelving and if you wanted more to shelving you would simply add more nuts this would accomodate more models of smaller ones if you didn’t like the thread showing you could add small tubes over the threaded rods I would probably use aluminium rods polished or even shrink tubing would work as well I think the wiring would be threaded through the tubing and you wouldn’t see any wires except we’re the come out to the light I have a habit of over engineering things and like things to be perfect the only thing is with this design is that it would have to be more of a permanent thing as to change or adjust shelving would be a pain but it would look perfect
