    It's not loud , it's quite , it's just muffler deleted , it ain't straight piped at all , if u wanna straight pipe it take the cats and all off of it, run her off the headers and weld just a pipe from the headers all the way to the ass end , that's a straight pipe

      @@rogacz5966 Too many people believe in man made climate change. We may contribute, but it's been changing from the dawn of time. Hot, cold, dry, wet... whatever issue people are having today, people in the same location decades from now will probably be dealing with the opposite. In the 70s they said we were going into another ice age.. bc we were in a cold cycle.. in the 90s we were facing the end of the world due to global warming.. The ice caps were supposed to melt ten years ago. And now, since people are catching on to the bullshit.. it's Climate change. They can blame every climate event on it. They use it to control their citizens by claiming it's your fault. The only way to be saved is by doing what they say, relinquish your rights, give them money and thank them for saving you from yourself.. It's an invented man made issue to keep the elites in power. The catylitic converter is a byproduct of environmentalists pushing emissions control. They're actually one of the few things that actually helps keep pollution down. But I figure if I'm paying taxes to fight man made climate change, I'd like to contribute as much as possible. That way I don't feel like I'm getting ripped off.

    I have a 2000 XJ with stock exhaust now, but years ago I had a 98 XJ when I worked at a muffler shop I put a 40 series flowmaster on it with no converter and it sounded really good.

    • @paperthinpizza
      @paperthinpizza ปีที่แล้ว

      After I read your comment I was hoping I could pick your brain if you have a chance... I also have a 2000 XJ (the 4.0) with a stock exhaust. Im sure you're aware that they changed over to a duel cat system with 4 o2 censors and a split exhaust manifold on all XJ's after I think Feb of 2000. I have one of those new set ups in my 2000. Anyways, since they only had that set up for a year or two I'm having trouble finding someone that knows how to order the proper parts when I get quotes to replace the old exhaust system with something as close to stock as possible. I really don't want to go too far away from stock because the system has 4 o2 censors and if the air/fuel mixture gets out of whack from creative custom exhaust I'm afraid the computer is going to go crazy and start making the engine misfire and throw p300 codes. One mechanic warned me that could happen if you don't keep it stock but then he didn't know where to order stock stuff so he didn't want to touch my Jeep. Anyways, sorry to bother you out of the blue like this but if you know about this topic and have any suggestions for the best way to replace a 2000-2001 XJ with close to stock stuff starting with the cat and going all the way back I would love to hear your advice. Thanks for reading this and have a good one!

    It's hard to remove those catalytic converters and go straight pipe in a lot of states if you expect to get tags and registration at the DMV, and be street legal, because stricter emissions standards are starting to be imposed, and if you want it to pass the sniffer and clear the emission test, then you gotta have em on.

    My XJ has the muffler removed just like what you've done! My muffler brackets, and the clamp rusted off... the Midwest, Rust sucks. So I took the muffler off from over the rear axle and had it muffler free for 2 years now. I find it borderline loud, I had Honda accord (4 cylinder) that had a exhaust leak that I still think was way louder then this cylinder inline 6. My friends give me a hard time that I don't need to text them when I pull up, they can hear me haha. haven't had any police officer stop me at all since I removed it, and I live in the Chicago metro. it's difficult on occasions to have conversations in the car, and I set off a car alarm in the garage at work lol. in IL here I can still pass emission testing with my catty still on. so I kinda like it and I just tell people who don't "well why don't you buy me a muffler then? I'm not bothered by it"

I'll try it anyway, and when that's not enough for me I've got my big ol 1 ton Chevy with glass packs installed backwards on it's 454. Its very loud, but the backwards glasspacks are just enough to keep it from popping. The super long pipes on a crew cab long bed gives it the rest of the restriction it needs while still allowing it to be very annoyingly loud. Also, you could knock the insides out of your cat and just leave it in-line.

      R there any sensors passed the cat? I’d look n figure it out myself but it’s cold af outside. Also how did you mount it, or is it just enough weight to leave it hanging? I’ve been wanting to do this myself but I’m not sure if it’s a good idea. Primary incentive is that I’ve got extended shackles and in its current state the exhaust occasionally hits it

    • @Dibbly
      @Dibbly 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jorge Arroyo no there aren’t any sensors it was actually very straight forward. The guy who did my exhaust jut bolted on another mount right to the unibody so it has one mounting point and it’s welded to the cat. Honestly if it’s your daily driver like mine is then I say go for it! It looks and sounds great in my opinion. The only time I would say it’s a bad idea is if you plan on crawling or doing any serious off-road stuff just because it’s way more likely to get gnarled up

      Just gut the Cat. You can gut it without taking it off. Just get a big crowbar or something and shove it up in the cat and bust all the guts up and then scrap them out. I did the Cat delete and a Thrust Welded one in teo out axle dumped and it sounds amazing. Ive had numerous dudes ask me if its V8 swapped

    I did the same setup when I installed my 8.8 swap cause muffler was hitting the driveshaft. Too loud for me. You should add keyless entry. Best mod I did to my 2000. Look up keyless entry cherokee on TH-cam there are a few vids. Only cost me $25.

    Hey bro I really dig what you're doing with your XJ and I enjoy your videos, please keep them coming. In regards to your exhaust I personally wouldn't just straight pipe it myself, I've had three XJ's and the single best upgrade I'd done to any of them was installing a long tube, torque header with a long cherry bomb muffler exiting out the back. I gained a noticeable increase in engine power, it sounds great, looks great and it's easy on the ears during daily driving. There's lots of opinions on this subject and they all have pros and cons but I can tell you that the performance increase was noticeable and affected all three of my XJ's the same. As soon as I find my Dyno test results, I'll post them for you to actually see that this engine upgrade works.

    The catalytic converter DOES make a difference when it come to noise. No it's not a muffler, but it does break up flow. I have a 4.0 jeep and ran it with and without the Cat when I was changing mufflers and the cat does muffle the exhaust flow ever so slightly. I hate exhaust drone so I kept a factory style muffler with the cat.

    I’m only 16 so I’m no where near an expert with cars. But I have a 1994 Cherokee and the exhaust broke off right at the backside of the muffler. Any suggestions? I love the loud rumble so open to anything.

    I run pacesetter racing headers with full 2.5" straight pipe, headers quiet it down until you get on it then it is a bat out of hell. now with the turbo it is even quieter until wot then my god........

    I more or less straight piped my excursion. I mean the pipe itself isn't straight cause it has to bob and weave its way to the ass end. I did put a 17" cherry bomb on it for the wifes benefit, but that's it. No catalytic converter or anything else. Its great at scaring moose away from the road.

    The XJs really need the backpressure from the exhaist system. Sure, you can run it without, but it's a matter of time before something blows.

      had mine off for a day or two then engine would die at idle. Put it back on and ran fine after that. backpressure is key for sure.

    Auto; still just a muff/resi delete. Nothing compared to the sound of a good old ax15, downshifting, the crackles and pops, engine braking and hearing my Borla bark. My favorite was zipping through traffic, coming up on someone, at about 90 or so. Let off the gas for a few seconds to drop speed. Then downshift to third and snap crackle pop my way close enough to force an open lane. Worked 60% of the time, every time...
