Prayer: El Shaddai, I come humbly before You just to say thank You. I thank You El Shaddai for getting us all out of 2023 and into 2024 safe and sound. I fully acknowledge before You El Shaddai that all of the people around us inside of our workplaces and outside our workplaces lost their loved ones and are going through difficult circumstances. There are many that didn't live to see 2024 and I ask that You would touch & completely heal All the families of the people around us that are dealing with loss of loved ones, loss of employment, their homes and betrayal from family and friends. I ask El Shaddai that You would heal all broken relationships in all families and friendships and bring forgiveness and reconciliation for them all for 2024 in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father El Shaddai, I lift up Casondra Jent and all others that You know by name before You right now. Words have the power of life-changing encouragement and life-altering detrimental damage to us. Almighty GOD, Your Word tells us in the book of Proverbs 18:21 (Amplified Bible): "Death and Life Are in the Power of the Tongue, And those who Love it and Indulge it will Eat its Fruit and Bear the Consequences of their Words." Words and actions hurt us the most when they come from family, friends and even bosses and colleagues from our workplace on a daily basis. Words have the power to heal and harm. Heavenly Father El Shaddai I ask that You would remove ALL emotional and psychological trauma from Casondra Jent's mind, body and soul in Jesus Name. I ask that You El Shaddai give Casondra Jent strength and courage to forgive herself. Give her the courage to love herself and the knowledge of knowing that she is truly a great blessing and an amazing woman who has touched the lives of those around her. Holy Spirit, help Casondra Jent to see herself the way that You do: a precious soul that has everything it takes to be successful and the grace to handle every challenge in front of her in 2024 and beyond. Holy Spirit, send ministering Angels 😇 😇 to protect her from all harm and danger, both seen and unseen. Holy Spirit, remove all demonic spirits of doubt, rejection, depression, self-harm, anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, and suicide from Casondra Jent right now in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. Almighty GOD, soak and saturate every part of Casondra Jent with Your unconditional Love, unconditional Grace, unconditional understanding, unconditional compassion, unconditional lovingkindness and unconditional Mercy. Almighty GOD, give Casondra Jent Your strength, wisdom and discernment to forgive All those inside her family circle ⭕, her circle ⭕ of friendships and workplace colleagues that hurt her immensely by their words and actions towards her in the past and present. Almighty GOD, heal Casondra Jent's mind, body and soul inside and out with the precious cleansing Blood of Jesus Christ. Almighty GOD, give Casondra Jent Your strength, wisdom and discernment to move forward. Draw her closer to Your unconditional love and mercy. Reveal to her just how much she's truly loved by You Almighty GOD in Jesus Name. Thank You Almighty GOD so much for what You're doing for her now and for the new chapter you're doing in Casondra Jent's life in 2024. And I thank You for what You're doing in the lives of those around us as it unfolds this year. In the mighty Name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen. Quick side note: El Shaddai means Almighty GOD in Hebrew). Just wanted to make sure that everyone knows that.

The last song and for first time listening to this that my brother got to enjoy before passing away from diabetes over a year ago. He was only 58 1/2 years old just dying a week after my birthday. Now this song is a constant reminder to me about his life and the time we have now to value and cherish it but also to take good care of ourselves. I will always remember you.
What a beautiful song and I can’t believe I forgot all about it until I happened to come across it today. Where is Sarah McLaughlin these days??? Come back please! Hello from NY & FL 💕💕💕💕
I was 18 years old, driving to work a shift at Blockbuster Music when this song hit the radio for the first time. The DJ, as well as most listeners tuning into Station 98.7 in So Cal at the time, was awe struck by the song. So much so he played it twice in a row. That was the first and last time I ever heard a radio station love a song so much to play it back to back.
Few things give you a reprieve from the trials and tribulations of life like Sarah's angelic voice. Thank you Sarah! You are a true light in the darkness.
This is one of the greatest produced songs I can remember. Her vocal is very high in the mix but sounds great. The toggle switch guitar intro is great.
Agreed, this song is a masterpiece... The writing, her singing, the guitar toggling creates so much 'atmosphere' in the mix... The whole song is an awesome piece of work.
Hi Sarah! I just wanted to let you know what a positive influence you've been to my life. You taught me to not be afraid to love music, art, and the beauty of being alive! Everything feels better with you in the world, and I love to sing along to your music since I was young and still do! You deserve all the love in the world for your contributions to tone and musical expertise. Your music saves lives, and it has saved mine many times over. I had the biggest crush on her when I was a young boy. I was 12/13 years old and my older sister bought this album and when I saw the music video for Building A Mystery, I thought she was an angel. She is still one of the greatest female musical artists of all time. ❤❤
This was one of those CDs my mom just happened to have in her collection when I was in junior high. I can remember playing this song, "Building A Mystery" and "Adia" on almost constant rotation when I'd get home from school! My mom would go bonkers trying to find it not knowing I had it.
I was born in the 2000s I have one of her cds and play it on repeat. I believe it was a live performance because you can hear the crowd singing with her too. I like listening to her sing with such soul.
Does it ever bug you out how tiny of a fraction of the population has seen or heard things you hold so dear? I bet less than 500 million have ever seen even E.T. I just can't imagine going through life never hearing Sarah‘s heavenly voice.
I absolutely adore this song. It helps me sleep at night when I can't fall asleep. Her music is incredibly soothing during tough times or when I've lost my way. I was in 7th Grade when this song came out and fell in love with Sarah. I've been a fan ever since and continue to be to this day. Keep making beautiful and wonderful music, Sarah :-)
I remember the first time I heard this song. Driving around Detroit on a cold winter's night - right from those stuttering distorted guitar chords and that voice. It doesn't mean much. I was hooked! Who was this lady? Of course, the rest is history and like a lot of the other commentators it does make me want to cry too. I miss everything about you. Wow.
One of the most elegant personages of the 1990s happens to be a celebrity singer, and her sincere sophistication shines through every performance. She and Dido are truly one of a kind.
Im so grateful to you..because you have defined for me what I want to say to my Daughter Sierra Jeffords.. Who located her dying father six years ago..he passed from suicide that day. I'm forever in your debt. Thank you for your kindness. We should reach out to Sara M. And Sierra together.... Namaste. God bless you.

Starbucks in 90s was the best! That was back when coffee was cool! :)
Sparkle_and_fade Coffee was always great. It's the people that made it pretentious that suck.
Sometimes it feels like we need the 90s back. But for changing the world? I'm down.
We need the 90's back for sure.
Well mid 2019 another 70 and a half years from now and it'll be the 90s again
Yes, absolutely! I'm all for Gay/lesbian and women's rights and all I mean who isn't? But the Liberals have clearly gone insane!!!🤦♂️
Really? Looks to me like the right-wing and their orange idol are the insane ones.

I found her last year and I'm 45. ❤
47 and I grew up listening to her.
That's wild. I did not like her music in its time (I'm 47) but some of it, like this, I do like now. Same with Alanis.
90s was the best
The year was 1997 and I was a 26-year-old, struggling through life. I seemed to lose myself in the mayhem for a few months. Sarah McLaughlin's album with this song, especially, helped me in so many ways!!! My goodness.. I love this chic! Thank you, Sarah.
I was 6 years old
17 years old. Great music, great times.
Same ❤️
Same too! It was around1995-1997 that I felt so lost in life. Glad I found solace and healing ❤️🩹 in her music.
@@tranguyenwa : Absolutely! Something about her voice was so soothing to me. I would take drives in the country, from the city..and just listen to this CD the whole ride.
Sarah is the most underrated female artist who deserves so much recognition! This woman is a legend. Sarah, if you see this, thanks for being my hero as a child 25 years ago (35 now) 🙏🏾❤️
Why?
Late 90s alterna hottie. Nothing more
who is listening to this gem of a song in 2019... the most eternal voice i heard in this world. kudos. like if u agree. 🙂
You're sooo right 😎

Tears of nostalgia. Music like this is life.
This song reminds me of my beautiful wife. when we met all she had to give me was her sweet surrender. I'd give her the world if I could. I'll love her until the day I die.
plainlogic you still married?
Mick Funny yes, why
plainlogic because the start of your comment made me think she was no longer here. A lot of comments on here are by people who say their loved one is gone.
plainlogic that's beautiful...keep it strong!!🌹🌹
plainlogic All need to love theirs like this 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I’m listening to this as my dad is passing away. It takes me back when I was a teenager and my dad was still young and we spent a lot of time together 😔
Your Dad will always be with you, even after he passes from this life.
I'm so sorry ❤
🎶it doesn't mean much
it doesn't mean anything at all
the life I've left behind me
is a cold room
I've crossed the last line
from where I can't return
where every step I took in faith
betrayed me
and led me from my home💔💔
and sweet
sweet surrender
is all that I have to give
you take me in
no questions asked
you strip away the ugliness
that surrounds me
are you an angel
am I already that gone
I only hope
that I won't disappoint you
when I'm down here
on my knees
and sweet
sweet
sweet surrender
is all that I have to give
sweet
sweet
sweet surrender
is all that I have to give
and I don't understand💔💔
by the touch of your hand
I would be the one to fall
I miss the little things
oh I miss everything
About you 💔💔
it doesn't mean much
it doesn't mean anything at all
the life I left behind me
is a cold room💔💔
sweet
sweet
sweet surrender
is all that I have to give🎶🎶🎶🎶

It doesn't mean much.
It doesn't mean anything at all:
When there is no puntuation:
It doesn't mean anything at all without emotion, the song comes alive with This angels voice, and instruments are equal in their heartfeltness. Sarah.
Media Luna I appreciate this, but it's already in the discription you know.
@@rodbender9076 sweeeeet surrender 😉
Media Luna thanks for posting the lyrics it feels blisssss
The way she says " sweet surrender " is so nice and calming to hear.
The pain others have inflicted on me made me close myself off and in return I ended up hurting myself. This song makes me cry every time I hear it, just thinking of all my scars that haven't healed.
But the time came to !! ☝️☝️☝️
Do not let the past hinder you anymore !! 💯☺️☺️
Sending wishes of only peace for you...💕
I speak peace to your mind in Jesus' name. Keep your focus not on people
I can really relate to your pain. Wishing you peace.
Prayer:
El Shaddai, I come humbly before You just to say thank You.
Almighty GOD, Your Word tells us
in the book of Proverbs 18:21 (Amplified Bible): "Death and Life Are in the Power of the Tongue, And those who Love it and Indulge it will Eat its Fruit and Bear the Consequences of their Words."
Words and actions hurt us the most when they come from family, friends and even bosses and colleagues from our workplace on a daily basis.
Almighty GOD, give Casondra Jent Your
strength, wisdom and discernment to forgive All those inside her family circle ⭕, her circle ⭕ of friendships and workplace colleagues that hurt her immensely by their words and actions towards her in the past and present.
Almighty GOD, heal Casondra Jent's mind, body and soul inside and out with the precious cleansing Blood of Jesus Christ.
Almighty GOD, give Casondra Jent Your
strength, wisdom and discernment to move forward.
Sarah is perfect. Her music is a part of so many significant moments in my life. Will always love her.
Beautiful melody, vocals, instrumentation. Never ceases to give me chills.

Only years after this song came out did I realize this was a love song to herself...how she reconciled, loved, accepted, let go of the past.....#SweetSurrender
NYC FoodPhoto Sarah said on VH1's storytellers that the song was influenced by the film ''Leaving Las Vegas and how these 2 pathetic people fell in love despite all of their flaws and all the ugly things that surround their lives (One an alcoholic, the other a prostitute). They were truly accepting of one another in spite of everything. One dies and that is why she says I miss everything about you.
Takes me to many different periods of my life, with warmth, angst, regret, and hope. ❤

It is almost 20 years this song was realeased and I still love it very much. It is a hauntingly beautiful song.
Just HOW IN THIS WORLD CAN SOMEONE LIKE HER EXIST???? SHE IS THE FLAVOURS OF THE SWEETEST SENSITIVE DELICATE LOVE FLOWERS THAT EXIST IN YOUR MOMMA AND DREAMS OF FEMININITY…. Beauty fragility of little girls a softening power that can cut through the HARDEST MEN… forget about DIAMONDS.
Here in 2023 and I still Love hearing Sarah

Along with Stevie Nicks, arguably the greatest female artist of this generation
😀😉👍💖🌙🎶🎶🎶
Agreed.
More like yin and yang, Stevie is disturbing, like a ghost, Sarah's voice is like audible silk flowing across your ears.
Couldn't agree more. Absolutely love both!
stevie who???????
I saw her in London live., so grateful to have seen LIVE mysic.Forget these digital era.. great gigs back then...
This song is so wonderful there are no words!
when music had such meaning! plus chicks rule:)
I know. It speaks to my SOUL!
Meghan Dowd just the title alone is dope
Adele is the only female that we got that's close enough to anyone on that list although i could be wrong
Still a total masterpiece from beginning to end
As soon as that chorus hit, this was the song that sent me down the Sarah rabbithole in 1997 and finding every album in her back catalog.
90s... bittersweet memories
Same...these songs got me through some really dark times and helped me heal.
i was about as dead (inside) as this song was. there's a 2000s'(s) song called "dead inside.")
I really miss the 90's great era!
The purest singing voice I have ever heard.
@Brandon Moore She's amazing.Saw her live and sounded even better.
Her and Allison Krauss :)
no doubt.
That belongs to Karen Carpenter, but she is a close second.

Truly feel this was the last of the Greatest Generation of music. Pains me of what is played in the airways today. Glad I was able to live in a generation of 70s, 80, and 90s music. We had it pretty good
ONE OF THE GREATEST ALBUMS IN MY OPINION. AHEAD OF ITS TIME
Just saw her in concert last night in San Diego, this was the first song. ❤❤
"The life I've left behind me is a cold one..." pure truth in poetry
This could not be more 90's. This was the type of 90's aesthetic that I signed up for!
This song puts me in a sort of weird emotion. Something peaceful and surreal. Like I'm floating in serenity. Anybody else feels like this when they hear this song?
That "who are you" and the backing vocals on "sweeeeeeeet" are still haunting me the same way since the '90. I just can' t, totally powerless 😢❤😢❤
Props to the producer of this song. So many creative layers and chords. What an incredible canvas for Sarah's voice. This song is still one of my favorites.
Those feedback echoes are so fitting. Gives it a very haunting feeling. And that grunge feel is just perfect.
This was all her… she created the whole thing.
@@Dara-wl7hy She had a producer .
The time of actual talented artists with their own distinct voice and sound
Just saw her in Houston last night. What a smoke show. I'm 54 and have seen her throughout the years. Still so soulful, genuine and beautiful. ❤
I'm a 33 year old guy whose favorite band is Led Zeppelin. Just to give an idea of the types of music I listen to. This song is the most powerful song I've ever heard. Period
she really conveys emotion in a special way
HAUNTING!!!!!!
@Kim Nguyen Sarah Mclachlan Sweet Surrender is my number one favorite song
The distorted feedback-driven guitar in this song is incredible, and kudos to Sarah for featuring it.
The ambiance Sarah creates with her songs is uniquely poignant. This track is truly near the top of my list of all-time favorites. Exceptional.
THIS SONG IS TOO DEEP THAT EVERYTIME I HEAR IT I DROP TEARS 💔
I was 18 years old, driving to work a shift at Blockbuster Music when this song hit the radio for the first time. The DJ, as well as most listeners tuning into Station 98.7 in So Cal at the time, was awe struck by the song. So much so he played it twice in a row. That was the first and last time I ever heard a radio station love a song so much to play it back to back.
毎年秋から冬になると聴きたくなる曲です。
This is a song that I want to listen to every fall and winter.
G.D. she is soooo talented. A real Angel of music.
Timeless…listened to this album other day at work. Just as good today as it ever was. ❤
You're music is so special to me Sarah, and always has been, so thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Very underrated lady. Voice of an angel
I appreciate this song so much more now that I'm an adult.
I was born in the 2000s I have one of her cds and play it on repeat. I believe it was a live performance because you can hear the crowd singing with her too. I like listening to her sing with such soul.
I've never been able to decide if her voice, or her face is more beautiful ❤️
Her voice is heavenly, 😇
This song touches the
depths of my soul..
Does it ever bug you out how tiny of a fraction of the population has seen or heard things you hold so dear? I bet less than 500 million have ever seen even E.T. I just can't imagine going through life never hearing Sarah‘s heavenly voice.

I was in 7th Grade when this song came out and fell in love with Sarah. I've been a fan ever since and continue to be to this day. Keep making beautiful and wonderful music, Sarah :-)
That opening hook is irresistible.
Love you family right here in the fire 🔥
In my arms of love Sarah.
Thank you for being such a light in my dark moments reminding me of who iam.
This was plastered all over the radio in the late '90s and throughout the 2000s.... it's a great song.
What’s a radio?
We were training at the gym, this song would play several times, every time
The 90s was a whole feeling 🧡
She's such a treasure. Thank you for the last 3 decades.
