Start when Pikachu blows up a Lowe's ad just popped up
Ash's Pikachu didn't have a previous trainer because the origin story for that electric mouse Pokemon that gets told in episode 1 of Pokemon Journeys (Enter Pikachu) shows a reveal that it first lived as a wild Pichu with a gang of Kangaskhan then after it eventually evolved into a Pikachu it ran over to professor Oak's lab. Showing that that was why and how the Pokemon professor from the Kanto region had it with him.
I canât put my finger on where I heard this, but in an episode of PokÃĐmon (canât even remember the season, or it could even be from a movie), I remember someone saying Pikachu had a trainer who had abandoned him, and Pikachu eventually found its way to Professor Oakâs lab, and Oak caught him, until a certain ten year old boy named Ash Ketchum chose him.
But Iâm not saying you are wrong. PokÃĐmon Journeys Episode One brought tears to my eyes.
Tepigs backstory is probably one of the saddest things in the entirety of the BW anime.

Lucario hatched for Ash because Ash is a human that can sense and control Aura. That was shown in several episodes and even a whole movie. That's exactly why people have been wanting Ash to catch a lucario for years
This was more foreshadowing it happening. I wouldnât be surprised if D/P was originally Ashâs last hurrah but the writers were not confident in it which was why Lucario wasnât intended to be on that team. If I had to guess when he would get it would be in the Riolu special with the rangers. But they could easily rewritten it to no longer be a capture.

And if Lucario and the Mystery of Mew is canon(some of the movies are canon), he is a direct descendant of Sir Aaron.
@@ChazWalser I think this Movie is canon because Team Rocket tried to get Maylene's Lucario with chocolate, which is the favorite food of the one lucario from the movie

Bulbasaur did also belong to someone else, but was abandoned. Also Oshawott did belong to Professor Juniper but she gave it to him. And does everyone say Greninja had a type advantage over Alain's Mega Charizard X? It was a type neutrality

If you're including eggs, then you have to include Donphan, Scraggy and Noivern (and possibly Togepi and/or Larvitar due to inconsistency)
Right but many trainers owned Riolus egg before it got to Ash. Whereas most of those other eggs werenât, and Ash had to walk around with them until they hatched

My headcanon is that Professor Oak captured Pikachu specifically to give to Ash and that he lied about the starters. Why do I think he did that? Because of the 4th movie. In that movie a young Professor Oak had accidentally traveled through time with Celebi and met Ash and Pikachu so I think he created a Time Paradox.
